A few years ago, I walked across the courtyard to the office of Tom Debenedetto, pulling behind me a suitcase full of Work Comp paperwork. I had been representing myself, it was getting more complicated and confusing, and I really didn’t want any more of the stress of being Attorney Pro Per. Quite honestly, I was doubtful that the law office would even take my case since it was so complicated and confusing. That was a few years ago.
I have nothing but good things to say about this office (Tom, Laura, Gilbert, Cynthia, Don and Andres) have taken time out of their busy day to reassure me that they were working on my case and not to worry. My medications were being withheld since July. Thanks to the professionalism of Mr. Debenedetto’s staff, that decision has recently been overturned. Mr. Debenedetto is an outstanding attorney. Just because he doesn’t have the time to persononally talk to every client on a regular basis doesn’t mean that the case isn’t being worked in. On the contrary. That’s why he doesn’t have the time to talk, because he is either working on the case or is in court. When it comes to Work Comp., patience is a virtue. There is so much red tape, it’s unbelievable. If the people that take the time to complain tried to represent themself, I guarantee that they wouldn’t be able to take the pressure of trying to learn the law.
Thank you Tom and all f your wonderful staff for working on my behalf. I have the utmost confidence that when my case settles, it will be fair and beyond what I can imagine. I’ll be sure to update this post.

I’m updating my review: I did finalize my case and although I feel like more could have been done with more knowledge of my case I do also feel that it settled for a fair amount.
I did get a personal phone call from Don apologizing and for that I have respect. I was given information and my questions were answered. Many companies refuse to acknowledge Unilocal or reviews, I’m happy that this office was able to resolve this issue.

If there is less than 1 star to give to this office, I would. The staff is very rude and they talk to me on very aggressive tone. They never follow up or call back even when they promise. I dealt with Josephine, she is one of the administrative that they work on cases, she is so rude and so unprofessional. My case was denied and the attorney called me and he said your case was expected to be denied and don’t blame my office!!! If my case was expected to be denied, how come you took it in the first place. My case was denied because of missing paperwork that this attorney office never sent it out to the defense attorney. So they 100% neglected my case. I can’t have enough words to describe this office. I would tell you to avoid dealing with them as much as you can! Don’t risk your job or your case with this office.

RE: DISMISSAL OF 2 WORKER COMP CASES
I do not know if your para-​legal is playing a sinister games with my life, or she made a simple error.
The para-​legal knew that the cases I brought were divided up into two (2) separate case numbers by ICW Group. You sent only «ONE» Case Number for Dismissal.
****Please note: I made 2 copies of each, and signed both so you can insert the 2^nd case number and please «REQUEST DISMISSAL» for both case numbers.

I have discussed this with the Legal Aid Society and they may look into this matter as I am a recently homeless and disabled senior citizen.
I need both cases filed immediately for «DISMISSAL». From the very beginning I had ill-​feelings about the way business was handled.
This is my life you are undermining by partially responding to my requests.
I was told by legal aid to ask for Proof that you had «Both Cases Dismissed» on the day you file for dismissal.
I am requesting post-​haste in sending me «PROOF THAT YOU HAD BOTH CASES DISMISSED» and I need it on the same day of your filing said release.
***Also, what Agency or Professional Agency can I file a complaint with if this purposely haphazard handling of my request to dismiss «BOTH CASES» continues unabated?
Again, all I want is «PROOF» that Both Worker Comp Cases are Dismissed effective upon receipt of this email on July 29^th 2015.
All I can think to do is reach out to the Workers Compensation Appeals Board myself and let them know of how my Requests for Dismissal” have been partially and potentially deceptively mis-​handled.
***MY CONCERNS STEM FROM MY FIRST ENCOUNTERS WITH YOUR FIRM:
Is this structure perpetrated on «US» the Public so as to be able to handle extreme cases-​loads and only settle the cream of the crop?
My final request to you and your law firm: I am simply asking to immediately «DISMISS MY 2 CASES» which you served as both Counsel, Para-​Legal and Intake-​Specialist for.
Further: I want proof by Tomorrow, Wednesday, July 29^th that «BOTH CASES» are fully DISMISSED.
Please; is this to much to ask for?
All I wanted to do was simple. Can you please cancel-​dismiss and release me for the unusual legal practices that scare the hell out of me?
Please reply with your intentions. I hope my request can be expedited and done today.
If not, the increased mental stress and anxiety will be more than I am willing to take.
Based upon my gut instincts, I have considered contacting Turko Files to shed light on certain practices that do not support professionally clients…

Tom De Benedetto and his entire office took over my workers’ compensation case after my first attorney retired. Tom and his associate, Don Kelley, did everything and more than I expected. Every letter I sent them and every call I made to them were returned. Small issues like mileage reimbursement, medication reimbursement and medical care co-​pays were resolved even if they had to go to court to do it. Because I was injured severely and unable to drive, complete yard work, clean my house or clean my pool Tom and his staff were able to get the insurance company to provide me with a driver, pay for a house keeper, gardener and pool servicer. Don Kelley always was there to assist me. When I would get very upset at the games the insurance company would play, like delaying medical treatment, he would assure the treatment got authorized and would keep me from getting overly upset.
I have referred many of my friends to this law firm and they are all equally as happy due to the personal relationships this firm establishes with their clients and the service they provide. When it came time to settle my case they made sure that I received separate money to pay my future medical costs and I received a settlement much larger than I ever thought I would receive. They are well respected by their peers, doctors and in the workers’ compensation legal system. I worked in this industry for over 30 years and am very aware of the attorneys, insurance companies, doctors and others involved in what has become a system owned and operated by the insurance companies. I would highly recommend Tom, Don and the entire staff at The Law Offices of Thomas De Benedetto to any person who is involved in a workers’ compensation case.

I hired Thomas De Benedetto to take over a work comp case from another attorney Thomas De Benedetto took over my case and got me medical care quicker and less denials. Work comp is a horrible thing to deal with but this attorney known how to deal with it. I would go back to him.

If there were a negative 5 stars I would pick that.
They are so horrible. I believe that they have lied to me, and they are doing what they want and not what I have been requesting! Go anywhere else!!! I have had this Attorney for 2+ years, and they wont return calls, emails take up to 2 weeks and that’s if you send every day, then you get a scolding email for contacting them. They have not helped me get my injury’s fixed they want me to stay injured so they get a bigger payout! that’s not what I want. I want to get better. I have requested many times that they send me copies of correspondences with the other attorneys and I have received NOTHING!!!

I can’t say enough bad stuff about this law office. Please stay away. Incompetent staff and very very rude attorney. You never know what’s going on with your case and then you get yelled at for asking!!! Such a horrible horrible experience. I would get anxiety attacks when I had to call this office. Super unprofessional.

This is the worst office ever. The staff is extremely unprofessional. No one returns your calls and they never have any updated info about your case. You have to be up there ass in order to get anything done and even then that rarely works. The «Head Paralegal» screamed at me over the phone and you can barely understand one of the assistance and she gets mad at you if you ask her to repeat what she just said! If you are in need of help and results then don’t waste your time money here.

Mr DeBenedetto is AWESOME!!!
My workers comp claim was originally denied. So I decided to hire a lawyer and found Mr. DeBenedetto. He works on contingency, meaning if you don’t win — you don’t pay. So I had nothing to lose. He referred me to the best doctors for my injury and was able to win me a large settlement without me even having to see a judge.
My biggest mistake and regret was not hiring him before I reported my injury. It would have saved me months of being broke and quack doctor visits.
