Our Approach to Workers’ Compensation

When focusing on workers’ compensation cases, we constantly try to find creative solutions to our clients’ issues. We fight to make sure that our clients receive the payments to which they are entitled. We do not settle cases just for the sake of settling, and if need be we will take a case up on appeal to protect our clients’ rights.

We also become personally invested in our clients’ cases. While this is the usual practice for lawyers who only do personal injury work, it is uncommon in the realm of labor and employment law…

History

Established in 1994.

In late 1993, Michael Rott started the Law Offices of Michael I. Rott. In March of 1994, David Hiden joined Michael, and the Law Firm of Hiden & Rott was formed. Several months later, Michael hired attorney Candace Oertle, as his research attorney. Several years before that, Michael had been Candace’s law clerk at a mid-​sized law firm, in San Diego, CA. In 1995, Candace joined Hiden & Rott and was made a partner. Thus forming, Hiden, Rott & Oertle, LLP.

Michael & David both come from Union backgrounds. Michael’s grandfather worked for the New York Times, and David’s Grandfather was President of the Oakland Teachers Association. David’s brother was in law enforcement and his mother is a retired California Teacher.

In 1999, HRO was honored by the Asia-​Pacific Legal 500 as being named in its Legal 500 Series, as being one of the top law firms in San Diego for Labour and Employment.

Business Owner

Michael Rott is a senior partner with Hiden, Rott & Oertle, LLP (HRO) and has served as general counsel to a professional sports team, as well as providing legal counsel to two (2) Major League Baseball Teams (MLB).

Michael represents clients throughout California and across the US for matters involving serious injuries on and off the job, as well as consumer product class actions.

Michael has served as class counsel in several Class Actions and presently serves as an Executive Committee Member in a Multi-​District Litigation Class Action against Apple, Inc.
