Worse customer service ever! My friend and I made an appointment 2 hours in advance we get to the parking lot called because we couldn’t find the entrance and was told the girl was going to be 2 hours late. A courtesy phone call before we drove across town would have been appreciated.

Returned and have to say, these guys are really nice and I’m glad I gave them a second chance.

Tan Line is very relaxed inviting and friendly. I have used them for over a year and they are consistently a good place to tan. Beds are always ready and place is very clean.

Very clean, very spacious, and Matt, the Manager is always very thoughtful and remembers his clients. As soon as I park he has already looked up my account and is in the process of setting me up. I really appreciate him! Laurie is really nice too!

Soooo the normal spray tan is $ 45 and since i braught my sis and ita her first time they did a special for $ 30 what was funny was when i asked to use the restroom they said it was ONLY for tanners. Only for tanners… I recomended my sister and I HAVE TO PEE!!! The young man suggested Mc Donalds… Wtf are the customer

Staff is so nice! The rooms are nice, clean and have baby wipes and tissues. Never a wait. Beds are decent and give a good tan.

I’ve been going to Tan LIne off and on for about 3 years. The beds are always clean and the bulbs are mostly new and strong.. .. tanning in less time here than many other salons. Staff is ultra friendly. Loved the ownership and management under Rich, and the new owner John hasn’t missed a beat in keeping everything I liked (including the pricing) and eliminating things I didn’t like (e.g. the signage promoting this and that product), and adding the wet wipes. Tanning rooms (and restroom) are always clean. I don’t know much about the spray tan or the knowledge ability of the new staff as I haven’t asked a question in years.
I will say this about Matt. He sees me coming and has me checked regularly before I even open the door.. . handing me my lotion and telling me which bed (of my two favorites) is ready to go. Saves me lots and lots of time and I really like that.
Additionally, when I left my glasses there the other day, he called me to tell me he found them, and when I stopped by to pick them up, I wasn’t even out of the car and Matt was standing there holding my glasses with outstretched arm. Matt, Lori and others seem to make a special effort to be customer oriented. I always feel like a VIP at Tan Line on El Cajon Blvd.

Although Rich is gone the new owner John sprayed me up just as well if not better I love coming here and will continue coming if you have second thoughts on coming don’t hesitate to give tan lines a shot !!!

Great friendly staff. Clean rooms and beds. Baby wipes, hand towels and tannin goggles provided. Nice décor. No pressure from the staff to up sell you on something you don’t want. Cheap prices. The best tanning salon I’ve ever been to.
I told the associate behind the desk I was going on vacation and probably wouldn’t tan more than a few times and she was super helpful in choosing the right plan.

Wish the beds were newer or bulbs stronger. Seems to be taking a lot longer than usual to get my tan on! Staff is AWESOME!

Are their beds the absolute best? No. Is there staff? Yes. The beds are ALWAYS clean, the rooms are always stocked with wet wipes, an extra fan, and a clean-​clean towel. The staff there is über friendly and surprisingly knowledgable. I’ve always gotten very straight forward answers and they’re always super polite! Definitely worth checking out!

I’ve been a customer of Tanline for many years… I miss their Hillcrest location… their staff is always friendly… the other day, I must be predictable, when I walked in, they had my booth already for me, time and all! Now that’s great service!!! They have good packages to choose from, or you can pay as you go, no stupid contracts. They keep the place really clean and organized… the woman’s bathroom air-​freshener was amazing! lol I don’t know about their spray tans, but their booths are better than others I’ve tried in the past. Great location, great parking. Give them a try! =)

Tan Lines is a great location to get your tan on. Although it went through a rough patch considering they had went under new ownership it is now running better then it ever has in the past. The place is always clean and the staff is always extremely helpful when it comes to advice on lotion’s and other products behind the counter. i look forward to the new services they will be providing in the future, not sure exactly what they are quite yet but the staff seems to think it will excite most all of the customer. i will continue to go to this location over any other tanning place and would recommend nothing other then Tan Lines.

Best tanning beds in San Diego! I’ve been a patron of TanLine since 1999. Just 1 session in their lowest level bed is stronger and more effective than 5 sessions in the mid-​level beds at iTan. Always clean, always friendly, great prices!

I’ve been coming here for years since they were on Washington. Great staff, clean, and top notch equipment.

Definitely not impressed… I paid for a week of unlimited Level 5 tanning. They have two Level 5 beds: one with a burnt-​out facial panel, and the other with burnt-​out bulbs. Take your pick! After a few days I asked if either had been fixed, to which I was told «It’s ok… you know, light spreads, you won’t even notice.» Gee, thanks. After 6 days of lackluster results, the desk guy mentioned that the max time was actually 15 minutes, and that I had been only using half of the time I had paid for. Could you have mentioned that when I signed up? Get it together guys.

I walk in and the Guy behind the counter greets me with «last name.» I havent had a spray tan before and I’m not too sure how this works but either way he wasn’t very nice. I told him I was new to tanning and he gives me a list to look at. I asked him about spray tanning and he told me the machine was broken. I wasn’t impressed and told him I guess I’d have to go elsewhere and he said ok sounds good. Never going back there again!

Been coming here regularly since I moved to SD 3 years ago. Yes, I know tanning isn’t the best thing for you but it’s the best thing for me to help combat effects from a food sensitivity (long, involved explaination, and frankly no one’s biz).
The folks are friendly, I never seem to have to wait for a bed and YES, when you use lotion you get great results — not to mention help combat the negatives from tanning.
Wish they had some sort of great sale on lotions or a loyalty program to help w/​the cost of lotions though (hint, hint)
A friend used their air brush tanning last year before a vacation and the results were great — color was gorgeous and natural. She did have a bit rub off on her clothes but that was more due to her impatience than poor quality ;)
They haven’t raised their prices in in years either! Might have to get more adventurous and use some of the other beds…

The prices are very reasonable. I do recommend opting to pay a little more for a better package though. After a few weeks on the lower level beds, you kinda don’t really tan much more.
Also they use your card to get the unlimited tanning, and have more than once charged my card when the month has already been paid for. They are very good about getting your money back into your account quickly, but the situation itself is sorta annoying.
Would give 3 ½ if I could.

I was doin’ some GTL looooong before Snooki, The Situation, et al. Back in my mid 20s in the early 2000s, I lived down The Shore (yes, the Jersey Shore), and I got my nails done every 2 weeks like clockwork, hit the gym 6 days a week, did me AND my boyfriend’s laundry… and of course, kept up my golden tan on a regular basis!
Then, you get older, you break-​up with d-​bags, and you realize that maybe you shouldn’t be spending all the money that you are. So you cut back on the «nonessential» spending.
Sometimes, maybe, sorta.
It’s been a long time since I’ve fake-​baked, is what I’m saying. But I certainly could not be a pasty-​pale bride! Tan Line is a hop, skip and a jump from my home. Since convenience always wins in my life, I checked this place out.
The staff there is very friendly, and Matt (I believe his name is), in particular, answered my numerous questions about rates, tanning beds, etc. I signed up for the $ 19.99/month plan, which is the most basic plan. They have several types of tanning beds and booths at various price points, and they also do Mystic and spray tanning. They have a ton of lotions for sale (which they will try to upsell you on, just FYI).
Tan Line is clean, and I’ve never had to wait for a bed. They have eye goggles for your use, and offer towels as well.
I was able to get a golden glow for my wedding, and a fantastic base tan, so that I didn’t get burned on my honeymoon in the Bahamas.
