Batteries Plus Bulbs

I was looking for a local place that fixed broken iPhone 6’s, sold brake lights, and a phone case. Well Batteries Plus Bulbs has it all. I was able to get my phone fixed in less than an hour and it looks great! I also purchased brake light bulbs and a new iPhone case from Locomotive Technology. Miles was very professional and helpful. I definitely suggest visiting this place.

Didn’t even know a business like this exist!!! Great selection and customer service is quick and efficient. Prices are competitive too! Lots of parking!

Business is closed. Couldn’t be bothered to change their Unilocal business page or Google page to alert potential customers.

Overpriced products and apathetic service. I wanted to like this store, and I want to support local businesses, but the few times I’ve come in for something, I’ve walked out without purchasing anything because the pricing just isn’t competitive. They offer a wide variety of batteries (as you’d expect), but not a large selection, by which I mean they don’t offer many choices or brands of each kind of battery.

Not helpful. I went in for two things: to replace the batteries on three inexpensive sport watches and to recycle a bunch of AA and AAA batteries. First of all they charge a fee ($ 1/​lb) for recycling. Secondly, the sales associate gave me nothing but excuses on why he couldn’t change my watch batteries. Mumbling something about having to put in a work order and the tech associate not being in the store and the fact that it was 5:35 when they close at 6:00 and he wouldn’t get done in time. Basically this guy didn’t want to actually make a sale or help a potential customer. You can’t tell me it takes 25 minutes to change three simple watch batteries when the store is completely empty of any other customers.
The only reason why I’m not giving this place one star instead of two is the fact that this was my first (and last) time in this store and this dude may not be typical of the rest of their staff. I won’t know because I will be going elsewhere.

I went in yesterday to get a couple of lithium batteries for my doorbell. You would think that a store that sells only batteries and bulbs would have plenty of stock. Well they were out of the pretty common size watch battery that I needed. The guy then told me that I could use another battery size instead. I commented that it looked bigger than the battery I was replacing. He assured me that they were same exact size and could be used interchangeably. When I got home, the battery he had sold me was about 1.5 times the size of the one I was replacing. Not only would I expect the store to have a better back stock, but I would also expect the staff to have some knowledge regarding the small assortment of products that they carry. I’ll be going back today to return the batteries I bought yesterday, and then never return again.

I run through AA batteries at a pretty rapid clip and save them in a sandwich-​sized baggie because I know you’re not supposed to throw them out with the trash. (California is the only state where it’s actually illegal to do that.) After searching online for a place that would take my dead AAs, I was referred to Batteries+Bulbs by someone from an organization that deals solely with corporate customers. Even though the North Park location is close to where I live, I called before heading over there. (Better safe than sorry.) The person I spoke with was very personable and said, yes, they accept AA batteries for recycling, and charge $ 1 per pound. While free is always better, I thought that was quite reasonable, and figured my outlay would be no more than $ 5 or so. Turns out it was nothing, since the guy in the store said he wouldn’t charge me for such a small number of batteries. In a month or two, I’ll definitely be back with more dead batteries, and I now have a great source for all kinds of batteries and bulbs.

This place is awesome! I have a Mercedes & the battery of course is super hard to find & is special order most places. Batteries plus bulbs had my battery & installed it for free super fast while I waited. Miles was real nice & knowledgable. He fixed up my battery faster than I think any auto repair place would have done it & the price was great!

you’re probably thinking, «batteries and bulbs. bfd.» Right? Think again.
This place has the little things you need:1.little bulb burn out? they gotcha covered. 2. Flash light battery getting weak? They gotcha. 3. Outside patio not working? They got you covered. This place is simple yet has what you need when you’re in a bind and need bulb/​batteries.
The customer service is AWESOME. I’m by no means an expert in this area, and as soon as I walk in the sales rep is searching the shelves for what I need. PLUS they replace the flashlight bulbs or batteries without hesitation.
Kudos for a job well done.

Got to the store right as they were closing last night, they turned the lights back on and were happy to help me with the scooter battery I needed! Thanks for the awesome customer service!

Called four times before anyone answered.
They told me I would need to pay half of the cost of the battery before they would order it or come by in person. No thanks guys, I’ll just order from Amazon.

My car battery died and the person who gave me a jump quoted me $ 400 to replace. I went into Batteries Plus Bulbs and they installed it for less that $ 150. Fantastic customer service from Bryce.

We needed to buy a 24 pack of Duracell AA copper top batteries and a very hard to find solar rechargeable battery for an outdoor security light. Saw this store on our way to Lowes and they had everything we needed… and at a fantastic price. The guy who looked after us knew his stuff and we were in and out in 5 minutes. This place has every battery you can think of and bulbs too. It’s on our first stop for batteries… for sure.

Bought dimming CFLs here a couple months ago but now they are no longer stocked by the owner. Come on guys. You’re a battery and light bulb store. Seems like a pretty standard item to have.

A very clean operation well-​stocked and well staffed!
I check on line for inventory and options and so far, they’ve always come thru.
I even had them rebuild my Dewalt power tool battery packs and they too have worked great (and for less money than a replacement pack from Dewalt).

Michael and Miles were super helpful in determining which bulbs I needed for my car! They gave me some installation advice and even walked me through it. Great place to go for help!

Awesome and fast service. Guys even switched the key fobs around to make it easier for me. Only place to get watch batteries and ANY replacement batteries!

You know? It’s hard to get excited about a store that sells batteries and light bulbs, it really is. But I’ve had multiple occasions to go inside Batteries Plus Bulbs and I’ve been pretty pleased every time. The guys have always been patient and helpful and I’ve never gotten «a look» when I ask a goofy ass question.
The prices seem a tad higher than you might find elsewhere, but I suppose that’s to be expected for a specialty store.

Several years ago, I bought a battery at the location which was located in Point Loma. I forgot to re-​charge the battery recently, leaving it mostly empty for 3 — 4 months. I purchased a charger and charged it, but not knowing how much power it might have. The battery turned out not to have charged. I had to trouble shoot to figure out what the problem was.
So, I brought the battery into the store and asked the staff if they knew what the problem might be. They offered to use their own slow charger to see if they could revive the battery. After leaving my battery over a weekend, they called to say they had been able to charge the battery.
They continue to sell the same brands and it is likely that they only sell better quality products and want to help customers get the most for their money, which is what every customer wants from a service.
So, it looks as though I will get more life from the one I bought, although batteries do have a limited life and I will eventually need to purchase a new one. But the fact that they helped me get the most from the one I purchased was a really good sign that they are there to help their clients.
The staff is as helpful as you could want and they are obviously trying to do right by their customers.
I strongly encourage you to seek their help when you have any battery or bulb needs.
