Stragier Dan DDS

Long time patient — and live some distance from his office. Dr. Stragier is extremely competent, works quickly and well while being very sensitive to his patient. He is conservative in the best sense of the word, undertaking only as much work as needed to repair and sustain one’s teeth.
Best recommendation: when our grown kids visit SD, they not infrequently will schedule a visit with Doc Stragier for a general reading on their dental health.

I’m not one to write a glowing review about going to the dentist. It’s not one of my favorite things to do.. but when I saw my dentist on Unilocal with a one-​star review, it was an injustice that had to be rectified!
I have been coming to Dr Stragier, and his office staff for YEARS. They are awesome. The staff is always friendly, and they go out of their way to accommodate the regular scheduling, insurance, and billing snafus that come up. They have been helpful in working with me to get the dental work I need, at a minimum of hassle, pain, and cost.
The Dr. is always professional with his work, giving opinions on different treatment options, outcomes, and estimated costs. He even worked with me to create a dental plan that would maximize my dental insurance dollars for the work that needed to be done.
As for the 1-​star review. Take a look at the source. Half of his reviews are all 1-​star dentists reviews from all over San Diego. Maybe he is a dentist running a Unilocal sabotage campaign, because as messed up as my teeth are, Dr. Straiger has NEVER suggested extraction. The 1-​star joker’s comments are totally off base with my years of experience with Dr. Straiger and his crew.
If you need dental work, give them a ring, you will not be disappointed.

This dentist is brought up in familly conversation once in a blue moon and always makes us feel so bad that we did not get a second opinion. We trusted him as a doctor and really paid the price. If this dentist recommends extracting your teeth rather than trying to save them, please get out of that office.

I’m impressed with Dr. Stragier. He’s a decent man, a good communicator, and a good listener. As far as I can tell, he’s the best dentist in Clairemont.
