Stonecrest Dental Group and Orthodontics

I had the worst experience at Stonecrest.
They have the whole set up as a office.
Big desk, nice offices, all the new equipment.
But my first time here I was greeted with a newer dentist that sent signals to me as new, practicing, and unsure.
I had him replace my front tooth filling which I had done for years before, and this dentist totally screws up my tooth.
It was the wrong color, jagged, he covered my whole tooth with a filling, and totally seemed freaked out in the process.
After 2 times back to get it corrected I went to a new dentist (smileSd) and paid $ 280 to have it fixed.
Completely different situation.
The front tooth is important and it changed me hard core having a dark tooth for no reason:(

They pulled 2 of my teeth and gave me a deep cleaning… all in one day. The dentist was very aggressive and wanted to pull more teeth, in the same day, I said no. I was sick for 2 weeks after that appt. Don’t they know not to do so much work on someones mouth all at once… if someone’s immune systems was week, it would make them very sick… This dental office needs some education.
They also tried to fix my sons front tooth that was chipped. They did not numb the area of the mouth with a shot but with gel. My son was in such pain but the dentist just kept working saying, «it’s ok». I told him No he is not. He put more numbing gel on him. My son got through it. The tooth was done very poorly, the tooth was very thin-​you could see through it, made crooked and the bottom of the tooth was very sharp. I paid the bill and went to qualified dentist, who was caring and insisted he receive a numbing shot. He did a wonderful job and looks like his tooth was never chipped but most importantly my son has now seen how a great dentist works!
I would suggest you run for the hills with the dentists in this office. It was not just one of them, it was all of them. The other employees were very nice and had some compassion for our dental issues.

Stuff are slow and they have no idea what they are doing
Not nice at all, take over 30 mins to get them get the referral and the receptionist has no idea how to do it at all
Then they are gossiping behind the desk about patient, they have three stuff behind the desk but none of them knowing what to do, the dental assistant just hiding at the back and chatting, seeing at least five patients waiting in the waiting room vs this unorganized stuff just ridiculous
The dentist doesn’t really care about you, all they care is the money and see if you have referral, done knowing its whether or not a cavity
The cleaning stuff does not know how to clean teeth either, need to redo it after dentist checked it

Very rude service from the financial rep employee. I had questions about the cost of a retainer and had called the night before to discuss the cost and insurance. The day of the appointment I went in to get fitted and wanted to confirm the price. The employee who went over the cost was SO rude and acted annoyed that I wanted to talk about the finances again. In addition I waited over an hour just to get impressions taken (with an appointment). My appointment was also 7:00 in the morning and it was not busy and there were only a few patients there. I’ll be calling my insurance to change my primary dentist. So upsetting.

I’ve been here for a few years and always had my cleanings done by the dentists. They were okay but not detailed. I needed a deep cleaning and was assigned to the wonderful hygienist Fe. She took her time with me and was very meticulous. She is like an artist with her hands, gentle yet effective, and very thought out with each move. If you get Fe for your cleaning, you’ll be in excellent care!
I also had other work done and although my dentist is no longer at this practice, I like that every dentist I had (3 now) were all attentive to my issues. They do not rush you or tell you that you need extra work. As long as I’m in the area, they will be my preferred dental practice.

THE BEST DENTIST EVER! They work with you if you’re having financial issues. They actually take the time to get to know you. & they are just over all amazing! I have always been terrified of the dentist, but I love coming here!

If I could give 10 stars… I would! I was referred by my dentist (who is awesome too. Clairmont Smiles), to a specialist for a possible root canal. My dentist made the appointment for me for a Saturday ar 3:00 pm. I arrived at Stonecrest and was informed very politely I did not have an appt. I guess somehow my dentist neglected to make the appointment. I was a bit disappointed as I wanted to get this over with, I had a loose tooth and some pain. They close at 4 and had just taken their last patient for this specialist. Dr. Deagle Endodontist. They emphatically offered to stay open later to address my tooth and Dr. Deagle also agreed. I was pretty surprised as these specialists don’t usually go out of their way. This was such a smooth process and very quick. I may switch to this office since they are open on Saturday and the customer service was exceptional! Awesome experience from start to finish! All of the people were very gentle which is hard to do as a dentist… Highly recommended

I first started going to Stonecrest Dental about 6 or 7 years ago. I got braces and the entire experience was excellent. I received awesome care from my Orthodontist, Dentist, Hygienist and the receptionists, techs and manager was awesome. Unfortunately there has been a lot of turnover in staff over the past few years. My new Dentist is excellent and communicates well. The New Hygienist is also awesome as are the techs. The front desk and management of the office is horrible now. On multiple occasions they have tried to collect copays that have already been paid, made scheduling errors and never return phone calls. The receptionist I believe her name is Nettie is extremely rude and not helpful at all. I really miss the days when Rhonda worked there and the old Office Manager was there. The office was much better back then. The office now needs serious intervention. I plan to file a grievance with my Dental plan regarding my latest experience for my mouth guard. I would not refer ANYONE here and once upon a time I referred everyone I know including my adult son who also recognizes a decline in the quality of service. We are both looking for a new home for our dental care.

I was sort of nervous and hesitant to come to this dental office after reading so many negative reviews, but after reviewing a lot of other options within my DHMO network, I decided to give Stonecrest Dental a try. They have Saturday appointments available, which is great if you don’t want to take time off from work during the week. The reception area, waiting area and dental office were all clean and tidy. I was greeted quickly by the dentist and his assistant and after x-​rays, an oral exam and discussion of how to move forward with my dental care plan, they explained and discussed my options, costs and what my insurance covers. Since I had my insurance benefits page with me, I compared it to Stonecrest’s quote and it matches up. After I have some dental work done in the next few weeks, I’ll be able to review the quality of their services.

I have recently visited this office. The staff was okay, office is not really up kept, kind of worn out and not really clean looking. I have received complete schedule of work to be done along with the prices I would be responsible for paying. The biggest problem is that they are not charging proper rates and also recommending work not needed, which is not covered by the insurance plan and costs lot more for those treatments. They estimated their fees between 2 – 10 times the appropriate amount to be charged based on my current dental plan! (NOT HONORING the copayment pricing of my insurance carrier). Be sure to take your Benefit Schedule showing copayments with you and review them along with the estimated charges on your recommended treatment plan BEFORE you get work done. I advise you also get a second opion done at a different place — there are places that will do those for free.

They do okay, but the reason for the review is because I have an appointment at 5pm and they have called me twice over the past 2 days asking me to come in earlier. Well if you didn’t have time to see me at 5pm then why the F did you say I could come in at 5pm? God damn guys… Some of us have jobs too… Really pisses me off. Probably won’t go back to them if they pull this shit again. So disrespectful of my time. I work during the day… If you didn’t want a 5pm patient, then just say «the latest we can do an appointment is 4pm» or something… #venting.

I am so surprised at a lot of these negative reviews. I have been coming to Stonecrest since 2011 and always had a positive experience and felt that their rates were very reasonable.
To try to save some money I went to a different dentist this time to take advantage of a «new patient special». The other dentist was rude, took 2 hours to do a cleaning and exam, and told me I needed 7 fillings.
7 fillings? I haven’t needed dental work in years so this was very suspicious to me. The scary part is that I picked this other dentist off of Unilocal based on their perfect reviews!
I decided to go back to Stonecrest for a second opinion/​exam where their dentist confirmed that I only needed 3 fillings. They did not charge me for the second opinion exam and gave me a very good rate for the 3 fillings.
I have no plans to ever go to another dentist. The front desk staff at Stonecrest is extremely accommodating, especially when you mention that you do not have dental insurance. They will do their best to get you the best price possible.
The only reason I am giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because the dentists are always different and it would be nice to have more familiarity.

This dental office is absolutely wonderful! From the moment you walk in! Everything just felt right. The staff in the front were all smiles and greet you right away. No matter what they are doing, they’ll make sure to make you feel at home. I went in for a consult for braces and the waiting room filled with other people there to see their orthodontist. Everyone had wonderful things to say about her so I was excited to meet her for myself. As an adult I was a bit self conscious about needing braces to adjust a bite issue but Dr Sabet and her team Janelle and Eddie were very comforting and knowledgeable. She told me about clear braces on my upper teeth which are barely noticeable! Alicia who is the beautiful lady in charge of all the financing and money talk, was extremely knowledgeable, quick and even funny! She answered every question I had and set me up on a very reasonable payment plan. I started records that day. Eddie took my impressions and was the fastest I’ve ever seen, talk about ease! Janelle was amazing too, the day I got my braces she had me out in less than an hr. Truly the best experience ever (& braces aren’t exactly fun.)
I can’t wait to take my kids here when they need their orthodontic work. This office was truly a delight to go to. Thanks ladies! & guys ;)

Great dentist (Dr Shahrokh) and hygienist (Fe) .they are awesome… just recently discovered this office and happy with the friendly/​helpful staff modern equipment. All the staff were very professional. Thorough on diagnosing and gentle on providing care. Because of my great satisfaction to the treatment provided I referred my daughter, nephew, my brother in-​law who also got there dental work done without any complaints. Highly recommend this dental office to everyone!

I am very dissatisfied with my experience at Stonecrest. I was sent here by my insurance and wish I’d protested more. I just wanted to get an exam and a cleaning, but they discovered I needed a root canal and a crown (fair enough). I’d never needed or had one of those before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect.
The staff and receptionist were really lovely and nice, but I felt both rushed and like I was there *forever*. We had my exam and next thing I know, they’re telling me it’s going to be almost $ 3k for the work. I thought, «Well, I guess I need it, so… okay…» and we made an appointment for the following Saturday.
I was there for SIX hours that Saturday. The cleaning took all of 3 minutes, which kind of shocked me considering every cleaning I’d had until that point in my life (and I’m almost 42) takes more than a few seconds. My teeth didn’t feel «naked» as they often do after a cleaning or slippery or even look very «bright» as they usually do post-​polish. It felt like an afterthought.
The root canal seemed fine, but the crown took an ETERNITY. And at the end, they show you some x-​ray of your crown and tell you to «sign off» on it, even though it’s very unnatural to bite down the way they ask you to to tell if it «fits» and you’re still kind of numb and tender from all the procedures. How can you tell?! Especially if you’ve never had one before. I was in considerable pain, but they didn’t even have any pain killers to send me home with, I had to ask for an Rx, which I got a bit of side-​eye about (like I’m some kind of druggie) which I filled myself at the pharmacy. Most dentists who do surgeries have those sorts of things in-​office so you can go right home to recuperate.
A few weeks later, I was still experiencing some pain and sensitivity. I called and spoke with a woman who told me that «some discomfort is normal» and there is «a period of adjustment», but she never asked me to come in for a follow-​up. Not knowing how this went, I said okay and just endured the discomfort.
Cut to a few months later, I’m in the UK, sipping some water and I touched my crown with my tongue and it just fell off. No fanfare, no chewy food, no gum or anything, it just… fell off and my mouth tasted terrible.
I saw a wonderful dentist here who took photos of my incredibly inflamed gums and was told that I likely had a bit of my gum had been trapped between the crown and my tooth and as it grew, it became more inflamed and it pushed the crown off. I required gum surgery before they could re-​adhere it and it cost me over $ 300US to have it repaired out of my own pocket. (They did an amazing job.)
Stonecrest told me that my «margins were clear» in their x-​rays back in February, that they have no record of my call and that basically, it’s my problem. They called it «a perio issue» (basically that my gums were a separate problem unrelated to the crown) and that they would not be refunding any of the money. I never asked for it all back, I just wanted to be compensated for the crown part, considering crowns are meant to last for years and not a couple months and for that kind of money, I expect it to.
I will not be returning here. I don’t recommend you go here unless you want to be upcharged and for them to wash their hands of you the moment you leave. I will be taking this up further with the credit card I paid with and with the Better Business Bureau if need be.

It seems like a lot of changes have happened in the last yr with this office– new dentists, new front desk associates, and new dental assistants, but everyone remains friendly.
My previous experiences here were fine. I mean everyone hates spening hundreds of dollars at the dentist, but if you have no other option, what can you do? The front desk staff before, who were Rhonda and Gem, were always nice to me and had great service. They remembered me and were very personable. They always worked with me on payments without having to open a credit card, which I liked. The assistants do a lot of work here– which I thought was weird. The dentist does the major work and the assistants finish it off.
On my recent visit, I came here for a routine cleaning. It was a new dentist that I have never met and did not realize ot was going to be a different dentist from the past visit. He was nice, but I like consistency. I got there on time for my 5pm appointment. They did my x-​rays and sat me in a room, which wasn’t set up yet. The doc came in started the cleaning and gave suggestions and then left. Then 30 MINUTES LATER, they finally came back to finish it off. I was there from 5– 6:15 for a cleaning. It was longest cleaning apppintment of my life.

Saturday 1:30 appt still hadn’t even been acknowledged by anyone at 1:50. Walked out. Will find another dentist with better customer service.

SUPER friendly staff and the dentist is the nicest person you’ll ever meet! The only thing that prevents me from making this a 5 Star is definitely timing! I went in during the week as a new patient, made an appointment, filled out all new patient paperwork via email. I went in due to a crown filling loose from w prior root canal. That visit was about 2 and a half hours when no one told me I needed to plan for that. I even told them that I was on a time schedule due to work. I don’t even remember my root canal being that long.
I scheduled a visit for the following Saturday but had to change it. One of the techs said I could come in on Wednesday at 8a, scheduled it and then found out the doctor wouldn’t be in at that time. I then scheduled for lunch time as Again no one gave me a timeframe. I came back in to have I thought the crown placed on the following week and that visit was a little over an hour. The crown wasn’t even placed during this visit. I was a little frustrated at the lady with light brown hair at the front as she made it seem like this was my fault. She told me I had an «emergency visit.» How is it an emergency visit if I made an appointment? I think asked to reschedule for that Saturday so I would be off of work but of course they’re booked and couldn’t get me in!
She made me feel like it was my fault that it was taking so long! Nonetheless, last visit was today. Was told it would take about an hour and a half to two and low and behold was there for 2 and a half hours. For me personally, all this time for a crown that they had to replace was a little excessive. I have a job and not being able to communicate my time for the dentist was frustrating. I feel like the dentist is spread too thin and worked on me for maybe 2 hrs with all the visits.

I have been going to Stonecrest Dental for years, even before I had dental insurance. Overall I like the work they do and the staff is quite friendly each time I am there.
The original dentist was INCREDIBLE! However, they did some hiring when the dentist left to go abroad (still affiliated). There was a low point following this, but I feel they have done a good job revitalizing their company name. The newest male dentist is great; very nice and easy to talk to.
I DO receive what they have billed my insurance and it often seems like more than what I have requested. My insurance pays for the majority of it… and then Stonecrest never requests that I pay the rest. So that’s that. Seems like they are trying to find a way to get the most amount of money from insurance companies, but not from me.
Regarding recommended services, they have recommended a few different services to me and I even agreed to pay for one… If I say no, they don’t push after that. Furthermore, they are very helpful when I am interested in a certain service. Not to mention they try very hard to work with you financially. Prior to dental insurance 2 years ago, I paid for all cleanings, fillings, and crowns out of pocket. The woman who does their financing is so sweet and willing to try to help out patients financially however they can.
Overall, I continue to return time and a time again.

They will do whatever they can to scam you and prove that things are wrong with your teeth when they’re not. They are unprofessional and the people and office is dirty. If they could they would charge you $ 100 for a toothbrush!!! They will do everything BUT a regular cleaning.
Let’s just say that the way this office conducts business is unconventional at best. I saw the Dentist 3 different times during my hour and a half visit and STILL never received a teeth cleaning. Here’s what they do.
You meet the Dentist and he takes you into a small room and talks to you for a moment about why you made your appointment. Ok, simple enough…
Then he brings you to the x-​ray tech.
You get X-​rays done (very poorly I might add) The tech didn’t know how to work the big machine and I noticed several stains on her uniform. She ended up putting some devices rigged to a computer in my mouth that was dirty and looked very old.
Then the Dentist brings you to another room and introduces someone that checks your gums. She didn’t tell me what she was going to do but she went for it, and poked each one of my gums to see if they would bleed, she said if it bleeds then I that part of my gums have bacteria. The thing is, if you poke any part of your body hard enough, it’s going to bleed… duhhh???
Then the Dentist comes in AGAIN — looks at my x-​rays and tells me that I need 3 root canals and a cavity fill. He for sure recommended that I get Porcelain fillings, oh and by they way they are definitely the most expensive. The thing of it is — I’ve never had a cavity in my life!!! Now I have 4??? The best part is my so called cavities don’t even hurt.
Then the Office Manager comes in and goes over what ends up being a $ 3,000 bill all while I am leaned back in a chair with a bib on. Seriously??? If you are going to conduct business with someone at least let them sit in a chair and be eye to eye with them.
After an hour and a half I realized that these people are using a free teeth cleaning as bait and hold you hostage until you agree to more expensive procedures. When I got hip to what the scam was I told them that I didn’t want to be there anymore took my bib off and left the office.
This experience was just as bad as a used car dealership.
If you go here they will screw you over with a smile.
