At Stephen Chinn Optometry on the MCAS base, we are located between the commissary and the exchange. We have 3 Optometrists on staff who are all Glaucoma certified Optometrists. We specialize in vision and eye health examinations for glasses and contact lenses. We see active duty and dependents of the military. We take Tricare Standard, Tricare Prime and MediCARE insurances. We have monthly specials for contact lenses, come visit us today!

History

Established in 1997.

Dr. Stephen Chinn O.D. established his office on the Miramar Marine Corps Air Station Base in 1997. He’s been serving the active duty and their dependents for all their eye care needs from vision, ocular health, monitoring ocular disease, contact lenses, glasses and more.

Dr. Stephen Chinn graduated from U.C. Berkeley School of Optometry in 1972. He has been married since 1977, and has one daughter who has just recently graduated from Optometry school herself in May 2015. Dr. Chinn has been in private practice for over 30 years, he has also been affiliated with Vision Source since 1999. He has two locations, one on the Miramar MCAS Base and one in North Park, San Diego. He currently holds hospital privileges for elderly care at Community Convalescent Home of La Mesa, and donates his time seeing patients at La Maestra Community Clinic. He is an avid sports fan who enjoys baseball, football, tennis, and swimming.
