Maids Express

I agree with the other reviewers. I have used Maids Express before and the first time the maids showed up on time and did a very good job. Today, however, is a different story. If I could, I would give the customer service a negative five stars. Had an appointment booked this morning for 7:00 a.m. It is now 10:00 a.m. and the maids have still not shown up. In addition, the number they give at the top of their confirmation e-​mail is disconnected. I found another number in the body of the e-​mail but it just consistently goes straight to voice mail. Is there any way to get an actual human being to pick up the phone there?

I have used Maids Express before and I agree with the other reviews. The housekeepers do a decent job however the customer service is horrible. You can never get anyone on the phone or to return an email. I was supposed to have my house cleaned yesterday at 9am. I emailed Deborah and told her I would have to leave a little before 9am but if they were not at my house by then, I would leave the back door unlocked. She emailed me back and said «got it.» I got home at 3pm and my house was never cleaned. I have left several messages and sent several e-​mails and I have received no response. I will never rely on their services again!

There’s couple of options: either to put this business out of business or they should really follow these reviews here & do something (full training) about getting their maids (I’m flabbergasted that these are women — home makers!) to do the cleaning job as it should be done!!!
It was terrible experience! The worst ever!

This service ended up being a horrible experience. Bought a Living Social deal in 2011, made appt in January only to find out they couldn’t come until June. Scheduled the appt. They called the day before to confirm with the wrong time. I called back to make sure we were scheduled for the time I had written down. She confirmed that I was correct and they would be there. The next day, they didn’t show up and didn’t call. I called a couple time and only got a voicemail recording with their office hours of 10am to 2pm. My appt wasn’t until 3:30, so there was no way I was going to get in touch with anyone. It is now the next day, and I never got a call or received my service. I was telling a friend about my story last night and low and behold!!!, She had the exact same thing happen with the same service!!! This place needs to be shut down!!!

I am furious with this company. I bought 4 deals from them over a year ago. We redeemed one voucher, forfeited a voucher and then I made an appointment for Oct 2011 at 11am to redeem the 3^rd. At 11:20a I get an email from Deborah saying that their crew didn’t show up for work and that they wouldn’t be cleaning my house since they didn’t have backup staff. Mind you, I had made this appointment about 6 weeks in advance, and I was so ready for a cleaning. Deborah said they could reschedule me, but not until December, or she would issue me a refund. I said that waiting another two months was unacceptable and that I’d like a refund for the 2 remaining vouchers ($ 90). She said, absolutely, you’ll have your money in 30 days. Riiiight.
As you can tell, it’s now April and I’ve been getting the big ignore ever since then. I’ve left countless messages on their machine — they never answer or call back. I’ve also sent many emails. I don’t know how else to reach this company.
This is a terrible way of doing business. They’re cheaters. They do not have my recommendation at all.

If I could rate the maids alone, I would give them five stars. They are on time, fast, and thorough. However, the scheduling and service from the administrative end leaves much to be desired.
I’ve purchased several daily deal vouchers from this company. Their online scheduling is confusing and downright frustrating. I live in one of the most populous zip code ranges on their matrix, yet they only offer one or two available dates — and they are six months away! The email confirmation does not include the date/​time that you selected, so it’s impossible to go back and check if want to verify the appointment.
It takes several days for service reps to answer your emails, and the customer service phone line goes straight to a voicemail that doesn’t ever seem to be picked up.
To all the maids at MaidsExpress, move to another company that treats its customers better. You deserve it.

First off, I didn’t have any deals that everyone keeps mentioning… I paid full price. I had used them before and they did a great job. I was moving out of my 2 bedroom condo and needed my place cleaned for my walk-​thru with my landlord. I paid extra to get my refrigerator and oven cleaned as well. The appt was scheduled for 8:30am and I told the service that I would meet the maids to discuss the job and to let them into the condo. The night before I received a call letting me know that they actually wouldn’t be able to show up until 9am. Ok, fine… no big deal. I called my boss to let her know I’d be a bit late for work.
So there I was…9am…standing in an empty condo waiting for them to arrive. No show… so I call and get an answering machine and leave a polite message. 9:15 now… still no show or no call back from them. I leave another message on the machine. 9:30…same thing. 9:45…still no show or no call. How unprofessional! I left 4 messages and didn’t get a call back until after 11am! I stood in an empty condo for over 45 minutes! I had to leave my condo by 9:45 otherwise I would be late to my meeting. I ended up leaving the place open and in the message told them to lock it up when they left.
So I arrive back at my condo at 5pm to do the walk-​thru with landlord. I have to be honest, I was pretty nervous with what I would find. But they did a great job cleaning… so I’ll give them the 2 stars. However, there was one exception… they didn’t clean the broiler in my oven. I called the manager/​owner (Debra) today and she actually knocked off $ 15 from the total since they missed that. However, when I mentioned that it would be great customer service if she would also knock off a few bucks for their unprofessional tardiness and lack of communication… she refused and stood firm. Debra apologized and that was all she was going to do. Well Debra, thanks for the apology… but I will never use your service again.

I had purchased 2 living social deals. I had a bad experience the first time but what the heck, paid for it, might as well use the second one. Something is better than nothing right? WRONG!!!
I made an appointment back in September and my appointment was In March. Yup, expected that. I paid for 4 hours, but only really received 3 hours. The 2 ladies was 20 mins late and finished 10 mins early. I thought if they were done, then that’s ok right?
I looked over what they did and talk about CRAPPY job. They might as well as pretended that they worked. The place was only 30% clean. The didn’t clean the downstairs bathroom and everything else was just superficially cleaned.
So I wait for 6 months paid for $ 50 for 4 hours of work and got 2 hours worth. I would be much more upset but my experience is seems to be the same as everyone elses’. They can’t really get regular customers so they cop these groupon deals. How long before the gig is up?
If you already bought the deal, make sure you stand next to them and watch them closely. Better yet, if you haven’t bought it, don’t.

This is sort of an update. I used this company once a year ago when I got their daily save deal. I don’t see many recent reviews but that’s probably because no one is going to them anymore. Except for the fact that they won’t book you an appointment any earlier than 7 months from now!!! What the??? How can that be? Who books cleaning services that far out? And if you call to ask, they say it’s because they’re busy. Really? They don’t respond to emails and don’t tell you much over the phone either (when you can get ahold of them that is). Worst company ever. I would never in a million years recommend this company and wouldn’t even want to use them myself now except for the fact that I want to use my cleaning they owe to me after a mishap with a previous cleaning. Guess I’ll let you know what happens 7 months from now. :-/

As many of the people below, I bought this as a deal on
thinking it was a great price for a good cleaning. It took me a while to book it before I finally realized it was about to expire, and of course the only date available was after expiration so luckily they still accepted my voucher since I booked it beforehand.
The appointment was for 1pm… around 1:20 I called to find out where they were and the woman said she would call them and call me back. They called back a few moments later and said they were 10 – 15 min away… finally started around 2pm. I didn’t experience the same problem with a language barrier because one of them spoke english, I don’t have any complaints about the actual cleaning (although after reading the review about them using the same sponge for the toilet and counter, I think I’m going to rewash a few things…), however I was a little bothered to realize that one of them had gone #2 in my bathroom right before leaving and shut the door, keeping the smell locked up. I understand when ya gotta go ya gotta go… but come on now… They also apparently let a bee into my house which I now have trapped in between the window and the screen.
The cleaning was fairly sub par — more like a light dusting than a cleaning. Originally I was going to give them 3 stars, however after reading that this is consistently how they have done business for some time now, I had to downgrade to 2 stars. Time to get your act together…

I have never been more upset with any other company as much as I have with this one. I’d like to say that if you bought this from a daily deal website you’ve been screwed. because I think so many people bought the same deal that they became overwhelmed with all the appointments.
I bought 2 coupons from
for the deep cleaning session. When I scheduled my appointment i was already a little disappointed because they had very limited dates and I could not get a date right before my move out. That was fine, I understood that they were probably very busy.
When I scheduled my appointment an email said that they would contact within 2 business days. That never happened. Also there was no option on the website for me to redeem 2 coupons.
I figured all right, its ok, I’ll just explain to them when they get here to clean my house. They never showed up! I tried calling them back and they would never respond nor call me back.
Luckily for me
understood my situation and refunded my money. As for this company I hope that the many pissed off Unilocal reviewers bring your company down.

UGH. I, like so many schmucks bought the daily save gift certificate for 4 hours of cleaning for $ 45.00.
They were booked for 2:30pm. They arrived at 4:15pm. When I asked why they were late, they told me in broken English that it wasn’t their problem, it was the lady who booked it who made the error. I tried calling their office 4 times while I was waiting for them to show up to see if they were indeed going to show up. The line was busy 3 times, and I left a message once. But, I never got a call back.
They are cleaning now, but they are both on their cell phones. I will be checking up on them and I’ve already complained to The Daily Save about getting a refund for the last two unused gift certificates.
Oh, one of their cellphones just rang. AGAIN!

Your posts are right on. My experience was exacty like that. Bought 4 daily saves. I feel for you all as I also tipped them 20%. The maids ended up breaking 2 of my Bali blinds which is pretty hard to do — and then used scotch tape to try to hide it. Then I caught that they used chemical cleaner on my new oak wood flooring completely taking the finish off leaving the dark wood — blue!. I contacted Deborah Vance the «boss» to discuss and was completely shut down and never called back to discuss as promised «after she contacted the out of town owner».
Im filing a small claims today simply because the damages have exceed $ 2000 and Im a single mom without that kind of money to throw around.
Im glad I checked in first to see if anyone had any experiences as mine. Sad part is that word of mouth is the best way to keep your business flourishing… greedy people dont win in the end.

OMG why didn’t I read the reviews here first before buying into one of the «deals» being offered… It has been more than 48 hours since my initial online booking request and no one has responded confirming one of the two options that I made. I made a follow up phone call since my request dates were quickly approaching and would need to use another service if MaidsExxpress wasn’t going to come through.
I even sent a note to the online site that offered this service in the hopes that they cut ties from future endorsements with this company.
Stay away from this company unless you take pleasure to being ignored.

Like many others, I purchased a packaged through The Daily Save. I filled out the form on the website that said I’d be contacted within 48 hours. That was 6 days ago.
It’s a good thing I don’t need my house cleaned, so I can show it. Oh wait, I do.

I bought 4 Daily Deals for cleaninging. They did a ½ ass job. It is very difficult to book an apt at a reasonable time even when booking 4 months in advance. The maids were late and left early. One time neither women who came spoke English. I called to complain and get the rest of my $ back for the other services and the manager said no. Nothing was broken or stolen — so that is a plus.

I first used Maids Express back in July of 2010 with 4 coupons I had bought. That deal was $ 45 for 2 hours for 2 ladies… well worth it.
Since then, I have become a regular customer.
I have the 2 ladies come once a month to do a light cleaning at $ 69.
They not only dust (and my place is full of glass and mirrors) vacuum, mop the kitchen and bathroom floors, but also clean out the microwave, vacuum my sofas (3) of all cat hair, and I even noticed they cleaned my inner window sills of my dead flies!
All in all it is very nice to come home and see things spotless.
I am a sold customer.

I did a deal through Reader Steals, $ 49 for 2 people, 2 hours. After reading the reviews I wasn’t expecting this to be perfect… and this is quite a bargain.
I made my booking request online and had a phone call back (yes, from someone who spoke English) in just a few hours. I scheduled my appt for a few days later and the 2 ladies who came were very close to being on time.
I was kind of shocked when one of the women took a sopping wet mop into my guest room with unsealed cork plank floors… I managed to stop her before she got too far into the room. She had already wet-​mopped another room with cork floors, but fortunately that floor had been sealed and hopefully no damage was done.
The good news is that I didn’t hear the constant babbling on the cell phone that I’ve read can be a problem with many housekeeping services. I think the girls maybe spent a little extra time on «easy» stuff like cleaning mirrors and wardrobe doors, but for the price, I’m not going to complain. They vacummed, cleaned all floors, cleaned the tubs & sinks, and best of all I didn’t have to do it.
I bought two deals so I’m planning to use the other one soon. Might change my review one way or the another after that.
In any event, this was my first time having a housekeeping service and now I get why people do this. Big relief!

First of all, Maids Express completely oversold the Groupon-​type promotion they did through the San Diego Union-​Tribune. I paid $ 45 for a $ 99 full service clean, and after booking through their website in October I was offered appointments of either 7am, Saturday December 18, or February. Wow, what options.
I accepted the December 18^th appointment, resigning myself to an early wakeup on a precious weekend morning. I sit here now at 9:06am on December 18^th, and I have not heard from or seen the maids yet, nor is anyone answering the phone at their offices. This is after calling me yesterday to confirm my 7am appointment. Needless to say, I am furious.
Unfortunately, I can’t rate the actual cleaning service, because no one deigned to show up to the appointment I reserved and have already paid for.

If it were possible to apply a NEGATIVE five star rating to Maids Express, I would do it.
I used their online form to book an appointment, and when they emailed to confirm, they included all my card info in the email, which was also forwarded to their HOTMAIL email address. Yes, you read that correctly. My full 16-​digit card number, with no digits redacted; expiration date; my full name, address, ZIP, and phone.
I just spent the last couple of hours at my bank, shutting down the account associated with that card, TWO WEEKS BEFORE CHRISTMAS.
I’ll be filing complaints with every agency that will accept one, and if it turns out that my account was fraudulently accessed before I was able to close it, I’ll be filing a civil suit against these morons for exposing my card information.
Please be aware that if you’ve booked with Maids Express via their online form, your card info has been exposed. And not just in email, but in freaking HOTMAIL.
