This place smells gross and is dirty. The place is busy and I don’t know why. They don’t even make their drinks that good. The parking absolutely sucks. Yuk! I avoid this place at all costs. Must be individually owned if that is possible because I don’t think Starbucks would keep this place running as it is now.

Worst location for design, speed and quality of drinks. I know Starbucks isn’t the best coffee in town but I just got an awful, awful $ 3.85 short latte macchiato. Part of the problem was that they didn’t have short cups and just used a tall cup –of course the right amount of milk wasn’t put in. Would have gotten a refund but I’d already waited in the terrible entryway for 5 mins.(who builds a coffee shop with no room for waiting customers anyways).

My favorite Starbucks location because of the customer service. I spilled my drink outside and the barista made me a new one.

I was in a hurry this morning and the store was super busy but the lady who helped me was so friendly and didn’t try to rush me(sometimes when its busy people can be rude). They were out of Christmas blend and I was totally bummed because I didn’t have time to wait, but the lady offered me something else and didn’t even charge me, which was super sweet! It made my whole day and inspired me to go out and make someone else’s day too! Best. starbies. ever.

As a former USD student, I’ve always loved this location of Starbucks. It’s conveniently located right down the hill from the campus and is right next to Urbane. Sandwich + coffee = perfect. They are always quick and friendly. I’ve never had any issues with my drinks here. There’s plenty of seating available both inside and outside. Be warned though, there are a lot of strange people roaming the area and if you sit outside, you are very likely to be approached and solicited.

Check you change. My 12 year old daughter went in with a $ 20 bill. The barista must of thought she was a gullible kid and short changed her exactly $ 5. When my daughter called her out on the error, she made no eye contact with my kid and, without question, handed her a $ 5 bill.

Fast friendly employees :) Our barista gave us both a quick tutorial on how to use mobile pay, use special instructions. She was awesome! Very accommodating for us Old farts who aren’t to tech savvy. Thx Starbucks(forgot her name) but she deserves praise. We’re from out of town & San Diego rocks!

Great customer service! They ask what your name is so there’s no confusion at the receiving end. Lots of energy at this Starbucks, being near the University of San Diego. Sometimes you even get sitings of the CEO of WD-40 grabbing a coffee.

This Starbucks like most can’t make my coffee correctly. I ask for a coffee with steamed coconut milk and a dollop of whipped cream. How hard is that? They give me a confused deer in headlights look every time and get it wrong 9 out of 10 times. I could go on and on about the weird things I’ve received after ordering. Now I just get a regular coffee(since that’s all I have ordered not messed up) peets coffee never has this problem or makes me feel bad for my «difficult«order. Not a fan of Starbucks especially this location. Unless you don’t like coffee and want a cup of milk and sugar then you may like it.

I think this Starbucks is in a beautiful place, with a gorgeous patio, and is geared more for students with the amount of tables indoors and outdoors, and there’s a pretty fountain outside. I love that this place is within walking distance. When I first came in, there was a huge line, and I was expecting it to take ages to get through it. Surprisingly enough, we were only in line for what seemed like less than a minute. I went simple and got a large black coffee, and asked if she could leave room for cream. Unfortunately even with that request, she still filled my cup up leaving almost no extra room. My cup was almost flooding after putting anything in. The coffee was okay, almost with a burnt flavor like it had been roasting on the pot for too long. When I went to put in half and half, the tin was empty. Ironically enough, I waited longer for the damn cream than I did for the actual coffee.

Saw this starbucks across from the donut shop. It appears to be a corner spot in a apartment building. It’s really small. It’s almost like a kiosk. The baristas were friendly. You will see a lot of USD college students here passing through as the campus is within walking distance. The line here in the AM sorta starts backing out toward the entrance. Seeing how small this place is it wouldn’t surprise me if it went out the door some mornings. This would not be a starbucks to really hang out at because it’s so small. I saw maybe a handful of seats at most. But it’s not a bad starbucks to pass through and grab drinks at.

Starbucks evaluation. I decided to visit every starbucks in the san diego area and here is the point system I came up with. On a 1 – 10 scale from cleanliness to outlets for computer use and wifi strength. OK this is my first one so here we go *Front End Cleanliness – garbage is usually empty and the prep area where the sugar and creamer is located is usually neat. 8.5 *Customer service – hit or miss and I’m not gonna name anyone but I’m sure other customers notice. Usually they are very nice but a couple of the employees clearly get annoyed and don’t like their job. 7 *Bathroom – No matter what time you come here the restroom is never well maintained the floors look like hurricane Katrina was just last week and paper towels are everywhere. Be careful when entering and only use them if it’s a must. 3.5 *Product Quality and consistency– Now that’s the one area they shine. The Coffee is always done the way you want it and from the Muffins to the breakfast sandwiches they are really good all around. 8.5 *Internet service and outlets– The Internet is really fast for starbucks and the signal is strong so if your looking to watch movies or download large file then this location is top notch. The only negative I have is that there are only 3 different outlets with a total of 6 plug-ins. Overall very good 8.5 Overall 36 out of 50 on the SBRS Which isn’t bad but could use some improvement.

There are some sweet staff that work here… and then there’s he incompetent ones. Waited in line through the drive thru for almost 15 mins and all the other cars in front of me had ordered one drink. This was about 130pm. Waited an additional 4 minutes at the window after paying. What was the hold up for a triple tall 1 Splenda latte? They forgot to make the Splenda, and had to remake it? Doesn’t make sense, if you have the drink just throw the Splenda in there. That was their excuse… The only best time to go is early in the morning between 6−8am. They have a really sweet gal, she usually wears a bandana around her head and has short hair and they guy that works the window with a key design tattoo on his arm. They are the only nice and caring ones there. I probably would have made a coffee faster myself to be honest. Worst of all… they forgot to put the Splenda in my drink. That’s what really made me upset. Not sure if I will go back in the afternoon again.

The baristas that work at this starbucks really make it the best. The employees are ten times better than the ones who work at the SDSU starbucks or the mission beach one. They know how to do it right!

Sole reason for this review is for the attitude of a black barista gal when handing me my drink. I had already patiently waited for a new employee to figure out how to write down my drink. When my drink was called another(smart) barista noticed it was wrong before I had touched it. The girl who made it practically rolled her eyes and said«I will RE-MAKEIT» –upset that she would have to do more work. I watched her dump the whip cream into the sink and toss my drink into the blender to add what was missing and sassily slid it back to say«HERESYOURRE-MADEDRINK» as if it was my fault she messed it up. I understand that blending drinks is a high stress job, but in this case the attitude could have been spared, nothing should have been said at all, or a «I apologize for the wait» would have made my experience a million times better. I get kinder and friendlier interactions at McDonald’s with my 1 $ coffee than a 5 $ drink and that is just crazy… This was just a reminder as to why I rarely attend Starbucks.

I’m gonna keep this nice and simple. I tried to buy a mug there, and they couldn’t sell it to me because they couldn’t find the price tag. Okay Starbucks. Thank you so much. «Do you want another mug?» «Sorry we cant find this in our system» Thanks again!

This Starbucks is not the easiest to access since it’s located in a busy shopping center and parking is limited. Other than the parking issue, it’s a very large, clean, and nice Starbucks. Fast and friendly staff too! My husband and I come often for a pick-me-up, although he’s more of a coffee drinker here than me. :)
