History

Established in 2012.

The name SomaSense is derived from our belief that optimum health can be achieved by connecting the mind’s awareness with the body’s sensations. The word soma is Greek for «the living body».

While the body-mind connection affects us daily, we don’t always recognize its impact on us. Challenges arise and become embodied when we try to segregate our mind and body into specific categories that don’t interact. The mind and body are a network that work together for us to function optimally. In fact, they both need to be addressed as we move through the challenges in our life – even small amounts of physical stress affect our mental health. And our mental health also affects our physical health. By receiving mindfulness bodywork, the patient can create a space for authentic healing.
