San Diego Public Library – Linda Vista Branch Library

I come here once in a while whether to find books or use the printers here. They’re online system is really great and up to date! I was able to find which library’s had specific books I needed for class or when they would be returned so I wouldn’t have to go looking for them. It makes searching a whole lot easier.
The last few times I’ve come to use the computers though, I’ve been lucky that no one is there. There are some days that every computer is taken with people just playing candy crush. Even the 15 minute computers, people sit there and play games. Some people really need to do work or use it quick to print something out. That’s one of my concerns because getting connected to the printer wireless with my laptop has been a hassle in the past.
But other than that, this library is great and is conveniently placed near the post office and a plaza with nice places to eat.

This place is super old, but the usual Asian lady who works here is really nice and friendly. They also give you plastic bags for your items sometimes. They have a pretty big DVD collection and YA books. I like how they have a counter with «librarian’s choice /​new book» recommendations in the center of the library that greets you as soon as you enter. There are also cool glass displays cases from the entrance into the library. It’s usually decorated during the holidays and special events. The YA book section has study tables surrounded by bookshelves which makes it seem like a nice and secluded little cave. The children section is small but clean. There’s also a ramp that leads to a higher level of the library where all the research books are. Very bright and well lit there. Overall, very nice library and I enjoy the atmosphere. They also host the Vietnamese New Year celebrations here with a dragon dance and firecrackers since it’s right next to Vinh Dong Supermarket and Yum Cha Café.

I grew up near linda vista area and I remember I used to love their movie nights, and how much fun i had sitting on the carpet watching Disney movies with all the other kids. I visits the library still as an adult and many of the staff still remembers me, they remember how i looked so little back then and now i am all grown up. The library gives so much to the community with their tutoring sessions and story book readings. Staffs at this library really went above and beyond trying to provide a healthy environment for kids to study in and teach them the importance of education. Now I am a working profession in the medical field. This will always be my favorite library and holds a special place in my heart.

I grew up in Linda Vista so of course I used to come here. Either to study or just hang out because I never wanted to go home.
Contrary to popular belief, I was a huge book worm and I used to read the encyclopedia for kicks (remember those?).
I havent been inside this place for years but I just drove by it the other day. When it was first built, a lot of people said that it was an ugly structure. Some thought it was beautiful.
I honestly didnt care because it was about 10’s bigger than the library that used to be on Linda Vista Rd which is now a nursery or day care or something like that.

For a branch library, it’s great! Friendly, helpful staff and a large selection of children’s books. There is an 18+ section which is nice for studying, with free wi-​fi.

If you have never used the online version of San Diego Library, then you are missing out.
So instead of trying to track down books at individual libraries, you put a hold online, the book is pulled at the remote library, shipped to your local library, you receive an email that your book has arrived, you have 10 days to pick it up, and go pick up the book. And all this costs … FREE.
Save yourself a fortune from having to buy books at a book store. Check to see if its at the library first and reserve it.
I have been re-​reading all Tom Clancy books to see if I missed any, but instead of reading in order of the publish date, I’ve been reading them in Ryanverse timeline.

It’s a good and quiet library. I almost used to go there everyday now i never have the time. But yes, they have alot of books there and ALOT that i havent read yet. ;)
