Whether this guy is an average or better than average ENT doctor, I’m not prepared to say. But I will say this as a warning to anyone considering going to this doctor: STAYAWAY! Why? Because his billing tactics and the people he has on staff to do his billing are as asinine and scary as I have ever encountered. This office employs completely unfair billing shams and they are ruthless. They do not listen to logic or reason and they will not admit when their billing is unfounded or in error. They just want your money. For example: If you go to an ENT for a nose problem, you would reasonably expect the doctor to look in your nose, correct? But would you call that a «surgery»? Absolutely not, correct?. Well, Dr. Rivet’s billing department sure does. And they will bill your insurance company as if he performed a «surgery». Why would they do this? Well, I suspect it’s because they simply make more money that way. And, guess what happens when your insurance company sees that the doctor purports to have performed a «surgery» on you. Well, surprise… you get to pay a very expensive surgery co-payment. And there is no way to explain to Rivet’s billing people that you did not have a «surgery». In fact, even the doctor himself will tell you that looking in your nose is not a «surgery», but the billing department does not care. So if you go to multiple office visits, as required by the doctor, to check on your nose condition, each time the doctor looks up your nose(as you would expect he would), you will be charged co-payments that will add up to hundreds or thousands of dollars. This sham and ridiculous expense will accumulate unbeknownst to you for many weeks or months because their billing department is very slow. But eventually you will be slammed. Then the frustration and stress begins. They will tell you you don’t understand. You must pay the bill or else they will send you to a collection agency and ruin your credit rating. This is how they do business. Does this seem unfair? I think so, but no one at his office seems to care about that. They just want your money. And I assure you, the doctor has a hell of a lot more money than I do as an unemployed person. Don’t try explaining that, though, because all that seems to matter is that the doctor is enriched by your debt. Pay up! Pay up, lowly person! Don’t believe me that this could possibly be the case? Go ahead and see for yourself. But you have been warned. Do yourself a favor and choose another office. Save yourself the frustration and stress and unreasonable debt you will encounter here. BTW, the nose condition(the one that originally prompted the initial visit into this trap) is still unresolved.

I went in to the office with my husband last week. They were so nice about getting him in right away. We both felt so comfortable with how competent Dr. Rivet is. On a follow up phone call they were so helpful and nice. My husband is doing great and I am so glad we were referred to the office.

Dr. Rivet has been my ENT for a few years now, and recently he also performed my functional sinus surgery. Dr. Rivet and his office staff are friendly, professional, and know what they’re talking about. Since being referred, I have heard lots of good things about Dr. Rivet from friends in the medical field as well. The only catch is that because he does surgeries as well, office appointments are not as flexible.
