Platinum Event Rentals

Our daughter was married on January 9^th and chose Platinum Rentals over another company primarily due to the friendliness of the staff (via emails and phone calls). The prices were slightly better than a competing company as well. The company rep worked with our daughter on choosing all the required rentals, all of which were selected months in advance of the big day.
Well, this year’s El Niño hit very hard the week prior to the wedding day so we begged the company to set up the reception tent the day before the rains were to start. Platinum came thru! They set up the tent on Monday (was supposed to be Thursday). I thought the ground would be safe from the intense rain, but the pouring water ran down and under the tent. This was a torrential downpour so we put no blame on the tent. Throughout the week we were contemplating what to do. The dream of having an outdoor ceremony (and evening reception in the tent) was dissolving. We contacted Platinum numerous times to brainstorm and change delivery times and days. We finally had to change the wedding venue due to the weather (it rained, hailed and snowed at the ranch we were to have the wedding at!) This left us less than 2 days to find and then decorate a new place!
We decided on a new venue (limited options available of course, but the San Diego Women’s Club was free, thank God!). We contacted all the guests and once again, changed the rentals we needed, delivery location and date/​time. All along this journey, Sam was patient and willing to help. They delivered at precisely the time we needed (Sat 7 a.m.!) and picked up the items coordinating with the staff at the SDWC 2 days later. We were incredibly grateful!
In the end, we didn’t need nearly the amount of equipment that we would have had at the outdoor venue but what we did use was very nice (chairs, linens, galvanized tubs, a few tables, decorative lighting). Cristin has been extraordinarily helpful as we deal with the wedding insurance company about our losses (the ranch venue required insurance and this may cover the cost of the new venue and part of the money lost to rentals, such as the tent, etc). We highly recommend Platinum rentals!

Wonderful and competitively priced rental company in San Diego. We used them for our wedding this past November in La Jolla. We rented all the tables, chairs, linens, silverware, chinaware and glasses through them. We also had a white arch and a chandelier on the patio installed by them. Everything looked great and arrived on time! They also came promptly at the end of the reception to pack everything up. Laura was my rentals manager and a doll! Thank you for being a wonderful vendor on our wedding day!

We rented a rustic bar, 2 galvanized tubs, 2 trash cans with linens.
Rustic Bar– Perfect, great size, great quality and overall was wonderful.
Galvanized tubs– Perfect size, extremely well priced and got the job done.
Trash cans with linens– Paid for linens, no linens were delivered. Don’t give you anything to keep for records for yourself so take a picture of the delivery ticket yourself, especially if anything was changed.
Delivery– 1^st, delivery was made for the day of the wedding reception. Original time 9am-​12 (which is fine, reception started at 12– still cutting it close) Received call at around 11:45 that they were running late and that it would be there around 1 or later. Now I’m sure I’m not the only one who procrastinates on things, but when it comes to having a venue set up, an hour before and possibly still not having what you ordered is a bit stressful. I did stress how important that it was for it to be on time, and it wasn’t on time as promised but it was there before 1 which gave me a little bit of a relief.
Pick up — Sunday 10am-​1pm, fast forward to 12:50 and makes me again a bit nervous that still no one has come to pick it up. This WASN“T our house, nor even near where we lived and we needed to be out of the location by the time we told them based on their pick up times (which were the latest out of anything we rented) I called the afterhours line since they picked up the Sunday, was able to get through and advised me they were right down the street. Made it to the venue at exactly 1. Thank goodness we had wheeled it out, picked it up and literally had it waiting on the street for delivery. Nothing to sign again when it was picked up, so TAKE PICTURE of the paper the driver fills out. Also it took about 25 – 30 minutes for them to figure out how to tie down the bar which we waited for the whole time to finish.
All in all the equipment was fine, there was some hicups but if you’re a punctual person and you need the equipment picked up and dropped off by the time stated (especially on your special day with tons of other stress going on) let someone else deal with this so you don’t stress about delivery — even when you asked to pick up they wouldn’t let you.
So when you pay almost the price of the bar rental in just delivery fees alone, you expect them to be punctual and to hold up their end of the bargain.

Our guests repeatedly commented on how incredible the finer details at our wedding were, and it’s due in large part to Platinum Event Rentals and Carla. Everything form the chairs at the ceremony, to the linens at the reception, to the chuppah were perfect. Carla went above and beyond to make our day exactly how we pictured it to be. I found a picture of a chuppah that I feel in love with and she searched high and low to find it since she knew how much it meant to me. When Carla couldn’t find it she didn’t give up! She found a way to modify the chuppah they had to look very similar to what I wanted, and even mocked it up prior to the wedding and sent me pictures to approve. They were a wonder to work with and very helpful every step of the way, always responding to my emails quickly, and arriving promptly day of. We couldn’t imagine our wedding being as successful or as beautiful without them. I cannot recommend Platinum Event Rentals and Carla enough!

We worked with Carla from Platinum for our wedding day canopy! Carla was a joy to work with and very professional. The day before the wedding, her and her team came out earlier than expected to hang our canopy and chandelier. Talk about fast, they got everything draped in no time! The canopy turned out gorgeous and we couldn’t have been more pleased with the ambiance! Thank you Carla for all your hard work in creating a beautiful day for us!

This place is a great rental place! They work with you on all your details. Answer questions and were willing to go out of there way to assist in any way possible. From the first phone call to Samantha to the delivery guys, it was a great experience and I highly recommend them. They even had items that other rental companies didn’t and some they did for better pricing.

We had a flawless event with the help and reliability of Platinum Event Rentals. I had to plan an event out of my home town so I had to rely on Unilocal and good reviews. The phone staff was great and the delivery folks were on time!!!

They provided linens, tables & chairs for my wedding and did such an efficient job. They showed up on time to drop it off, provided tarps since it was raining at the time and picked up the rentals no problem on Monday. I mainly dealt with Carla through email and she was very quick to respond and helpful with any of my questions or last minute changes.

We used Platinum for our event rentals for our wedding on ⁴⁄₁₁ at Scripps Seaside Forum. They did awesome!
We were referred to their company by our planner, Melissa Barrad, and we found that they were the cheapest around. We did a lot of research and saw their products, and were super impressed by the quality of their items.
Through the months that led up to our wedding, they worked with us tirelessly to come up with a perfect rental proposal. For those not familiar with our venue, we had to rent EVERYTHING, and Platinum were really easy to work with and made sure that we had everything that we needed.
I had spend a lot of time on Pinterest, etc and had a lot of ideas, and they were able to provide me with many trendy items like gold tablecloths, market lighting and draping at cost much cheaper than many other companies and the quality of items was incredible.
We were so happy with this company! We would recommend this company to all brides getting married at Scripps!

Very great service! I was the maid of honor at my BFF wedding and I accompanied her to platinum party rentals for décor choices. Cristin was a doll and walked us through all the many choices they offered
They have linens galore! Omg seriously so much to choose from. They had beautiful table set ups ready for us to look at too. The prices were reasonable for what you get. They delivered to the venue on time and set everything up exactly how we wanted it. I highly recommend them for your wedding needs!

My wife and I got married on 12÷13÷14. We chose this company because their prices were in the middle. Not too high and certainly not the cheapest. Our bill was over $ 500 which included 4 propane outdoor heaters. These were the original design style and they looked like they had been thru war.
A guest of ours was a handyman, and after me spending 10 minutes trying to light one, I let him take over. After another 20 minutes (half the guests left by then because it was cold), my guest got one heater to light. We all huddled around the 1 heater, I paid for 4, and my guest continued to attempt to light the other 3. He literally spent over an hour, he’s a great guy, but he couldn’t get the other 3 to light.
My wife and I explained this to a woman there and apparently she heard that before and was ready to do battle. We are mild mannered and prefer minimal arguing. So we contacted our Capital One credit card to chargeback the remaining 3 heaters. After speaking with our credit card associate, she stated this company gets Many chargebacks, I can see why.
If you are REALLY handy and can fix broken things, then you’ve found your rental agency. I certainly will NEVER recommend them. Quite frankly, they ended my wedding early and were an embarrassment to our guests.

I hired this company for my wedding and I am very sorry I did so. The arch I received was rickety and couldn’t even stand up alone, it had to be leaned on the car. Their was fragments of wood sticking out that I had to remove and some of the nails had to be reinforced by me with a hammer. Then at the outdoor reception, I rented 4 heaters. One started with ease, while it took my guests over an hour to get the 2^nd one running. Finally after another hour we got the 3^rd one working. We were never able to get the 4^th one working. My guests were cold and uncomfortable and ended up leaving early. After loading up the chairs on to the dolly, we moved the arch and it fell over and crumbled like a matchstick. When I talked to the manager Cristin Hopkins, she told me the heaters worked fine, the chairs were not stacked. That was untrue. I have 40 guests who are also going to post on here that the heaters did not work, and the 2 people who stacked the chairs. Furthermore, she said that I ruined her arch, but she would be willing to waive the $ 150 fee for destroying it. This company has cheap broken equipment and the broken down heaters ruined my reception.

Review: dance floor + arch delivery, setup, and takedown for a wedding
Service was great. Molly was a pleasure to work with — quick to go out to our venue to make measurements, to work with the establishment, and quickly responding to our e-​mails.
The dance floor and arch arrived early, were set up exactly where we wanted, and were cleaned up promptly after the event without any hassle or worry. It was an extreme pleasure to work with this company and I would completely recommend them for any future party needs.
Also need to mention the pricing was competitive to other vendors but the service provided is what sets them apart.

We were so disappointed with the service we received for our daughter’s wedding at our home. Molly was great to work with, but they could not follow through on delivery, set up and reliabilty. We thought we were lucky to arrange delivery 2 days before the wedding so that they could come out the next day to fix everything the first delivery team did wrong. (The lighting in the wrong place, the tables, not enough lighting that we ordered and one of the generators did not work at all.) The delivery guy asked us several times if we really needed the the second generator because we had a power strip the DJ and the lights could plug into. Yeah, the power strip went no where. The generator powered that power strip. Odd! They came back the next day, our fault I guess that we didn’t ask for a check of equipment. One generator STILL didn’t work and one had only enough gas for 1 ½ hours. How did we find this out? At the wedding when all of the lighting went out and we couldn’t power the things we needed to. We had 160 people at the wedding and had guests and the father of the bride running around, emptying gas into a bucket to add to the generator that did work. Luckily, we had gas as well. It really, really put a sour note on the day for us, but the guests didn’t really know how frustrating it all was.
The guests figured out something was wrong when a few tables crashed to the ground because the shims we needed and ordered weren’t delivered and many tables fell and plates crashed and broke. We had to use paper plates. The grass was soft, but the shims we requested would have helped. When they didn’t use them, we assumed they knew what was best.
I will certainly never use them again. To not be able to rely on the basic things ordered and needed really defeats the point.

I got several beautiful lace table overlays for my wedding. Very reasonable price. They’re located in a beautiful showroom, and Molly let us play around with all the lace we wanted! Molly worked directly with my coordinator, and was accommodating for pick up and drop off during the labor day holiday weekend. Would definitely recommend!

We rented chair covers and sashes from Platinum Party Rentals for our indoor wedding. Amy was very responsive and helpful throughout the entire process. She took the time to order sash samples for us to check out during our two visits to the store, and she was very helpful by providing alternative ideas. The delivery, set up and pick up went very smoothly, and the chair sashes added to the beauty of our ballroom.

We worked with Amy 3 weeks before our wedding. Why so last minute you may ask…
We originally planned our wedding with Abbey Rentals. which also has a great rental service but they lacked in a lot of various items I wanted.
I highly recommend you visit their showroom to get more of an idea. That’s how I booked them. the online site might not cover everything current plus so many people are booking them left and right so the newest item isn’t even available unless you personally go and book. Which is why I booked them last minute. I was in love with their showroom and everything came together effortlessly. I could easily vision my wedding by that single visit! So then I started booking away.
Amy was there to pretty much save my life. After months of working with a single rental place I realized it wasn’t worth the effort and cost to use 2 different vendors. So Amy made things simple and just pretty much transferred everything for me flawlessly. She was on top of her emails as well, such a nyc style I loveddd… you never sat there twiddling your thumbs waiting for an updated invoice. her speed was amazing and perfect since I only had a few days before my wedding left!
You will be in good hands here. And their furniture and decorations are the most affordable out of all the vendors because they do no have any last minute hidden fees! Beware. and keep note, pretty much all vendors are the same $$$ in the end :)

As a restaurant owner and caterer I’ve worked with Platinum many times, and I’m very impressed with the way it’s run. Their chairs and other equipment are far cleaner and in much better overall condition than some of their competitors. The pickup and delivery prices are much more fairs than some other companies as well.
I’ve worked with a lot of other party rental companies, some a bit cheaper and some much more expensive, and I’ve learned my lessons the hard way about the really inexpensive ones. If the prices are too low, it’s for a reason. My clients expect and deserve the best for the most important day of their lives, so I’m glad i found a company that understands that, but still rents at reasonable prices, and also one that doesn’t give me a headache.

PPR did a great job for our wedding — worked with us on our budget including price matching competitor bids, were patient through the many changes we made along the way, delivered and set up everything perfectly on our wedding day. I’ve recommended them to other friends as well. Cristin and team were great to work with!
