Parking Administration

I am Unilocaling the City of San Diego Parking Administration because the old address for the city Parking Administration is no longer valid. That corner place on 5^th Avenue has been closed for a while. Now the Parking Admin is in some big tower nearby City Hall. You have to walk into the building past the guards desk and go to the West Tower to find the office. There are decent people who work there as is usually the case. Who I have an issue with are those meter men and women rolling around town in those little carts looking for someone like me who is parked on the line of a parking stall. Oops! I got a ticket for that and fought it all the way along only to have the judge at Traffic Court deny my appeal. So at Christmas time, I coughed up $ 55 because I parked on a line! Total B.S. I am feeling charitable though and will offer this office 2 Unilocal STARS. But only because it is the holidays!
It is almost nearly impossible to get out of a parking ticket with the City of San Diego. But I have succeeded in the past. Both times I got Doctor’s notes excusing my parking and the city let me off the hook. One time when I worked downtown, I had to park near my work because I was nearly 9 months pregnant and had to have access to my car for a quick trip to the maternity ward. Got off with a doctor’s note. Second time, I went into labor with my son and my ex was playing a gig that night and could not be roused so I ended up driving myself and my overnight bag to Mercy Hospital. When they kept me for observation one extra day, my car got a ticket in Hillcrest. Doctor’s note took care of that one too.
What I mean to say is TRY TO AVOID getting a parking ticket from the City of SD in the first place. They are a BIG HASSLE to fight and chances are you will not get them dismissed. UNLESS you can go cry to your nice doctor and get a note excusing what you did as some kind of medical emergency. Good luck!
