Oscar’s Tailor-Made Slipcovers & Upholstery

Walked in one afternoon after reading reviews on Unilocal– had a minor couch cushion repair needed (dog popped tufted buttons off back cushion of couch– needed new buttons covered & then re-‘tufted’ (?) onto cushion. It was a small job– but one that I figured would be better done by people with better sewing & knot tying skills than I.
Had some issues communicating what I needed (worker at the time spoke broken english (but better than my spanish) — but its not really a ‘walk-​in’ kind of business– I should have just called), but Oscar called me & we got it worked out. He had it fixed within 1 day of speaking to him, it looked factory-​new, and he charged me just pennies.
I appreciate the work they did– they were quick, honest & great quality. Recommend for small fixes for dog– or kid-​related furniture accidents!

Had Oscar make some custom seat cushions for an outdoor furniture set. All in all great experience. Oscar was super accommodating and let me take home fabric book to make sure the swatch I selected matched our outdoor rug. He quickly turned around the cushions and had them back to me in time for our visitors that were arriving from out of town. Fair price for the excellent quality and service.

Oscar has reupholstered several pieces of furniture for me and made pillows. He did a glider and completely remade a chair I bought at Goodwill. I highly recommend him!

Oscar just completed a very complicated cover on a large outdoor custom cooking area with attached firepit in our backyard remodel, plus another cover on a triangular custom firepit in another spot. Both came out great. It took a lot of ingenuity. Oscar used combinations of lead weights, loops that connected, Velcro strips, and put in a opening in the cover that we can lift up if we want, so we could still use the barbeque without having to remove the entire cover, then close it when we’re done. The whole thing looks solid and smooth, and will protect our cooking appliances and granite. The firepit cover will keep the leaves and seeds out of it and is easily removed. He came over three times to measure and custom fit it. There were about 80 choices of fabrics. Am very impressed and will definitely keep his number in my contacts file for future use!

Oscar is talented. I loved my furniture pieces but was tired of the fabrics so I searched out for someone to change the fabric and came upon him. He has made slip covers and upholstered most every piece imaginable in my home. His work is amazing as I have had pieces upholstered in the past and they did not come out quite as good. I am a Real Estate agent in the San Diego metro area and sometimes use some of the pieces that he has transformed on clients homes when we prepare them to go on to the market. People are always complementing them. If you love your furniture but are bored with the fabric, call Oscar. Definitely a thumbs up from me.

I needed to get a favorite chair reupholstered and found Oscar on Unilocal with a 5 star rating. He did an amazing job, the fabric is beautiful (not to mention preshrunk and perfectly machine washable!) and I couldn’t be happier! I would return to Oscar for any more upholstery needs and recommend him to friends!

I came to Oscar because I wanted to have slipcovers made for my large sectional couch due to my pet allergies. I was very happy with the quality fabric I was able to purchase. Even though my couch is large and presented some challenges, Oscar did an amazing job! My sectional really brightens the room now. I’ve washed it and because Oscar pre-​shrunk the fabric, it still looks and fits like brand new. He and his team really put their heart into what they do and it shows in their work. I’m so happy. I was also really impressed by how fast he was able to get the job done. I highly recommend him. He was great to work with and I will definitely come to him for any slipcover needs in the future!

Oscar did a great job with our outside lounge cushions. We were very happy and he was a pleasure to work with.

I am very, very happy with my new sofa cushin covers! I am also very happy with the friendly sevice from both Oscar and his father… they were great! I would go back in a heartbeat.

I had some Rattan Patio Furniture that was looking in bad shape.
My dog had decided to make my couch and my chairs his new beds. He basically made holes in the cushions, and had ripped most of the upholstery.
I arrived at Oscar’s with 4 seat cushions, 4 backs and 2 head rests. Ricardo was the upholsterer on Duty. He was very helpful with telling me that I needed new cushions, new fabric, and new zippers for all my cushions.

He told me I could pick from all the fabrics they had there left over from previous jobs. I didn’t like any of the ones they had there, so he told me of a couple of places I could go find some.
After going to 2 fabric stores, I finally decided to go to UFO. There, I purchased a nice fabric that I liked, and took it to Ricardo.
He called me 2 days later to tell me that my cushions were ready. Ricardo finished the whole job in 1 day. I was really pleased with the results, and him quickly getting the job done. I also didn’t pay a lot of $$$$ to get them looking like new again.
I would recommend Oscar’s to anyone wanting to re-​upholster.
