MD Today Urgent Care

Wow, this was the best experience I have ever had at an urgent care. I was concerned that my 4 year old (the patient) and I would be there for hours, but we were literally in and out of there in less than an hour. Check in with Shannon was super friendly and seamless. The PA sarah was very friendly and efficient and doctor Natasha was truly wonderful and patient with my daughter. She was able to assess and diagnose my daughter quickly. I highly recommend this urgent care center.

Went there on a busy Sunday afternoon, My wife needed a prescription, the
place was full. We were afraid we were going to be there all day. But Staff… Shannon. Nick & Dr. J we extremely helpful and a pleasure to work with. Eventho place was packed, in and out in less than 90 minutes, much quicker than any emergency room would have been. I was dreading the visit, but now I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or go back again.

I have been to this facility twice. The first time I cut my finger and needed it stitched up. They were very helpful, quick and accommodating. I was going on a trip and the PA helped me determine the best course of action so I could still enjoy the sand and water in Hawaii. Yesterday I went back. With two babies at home I appreciate their extended hours – open until 8 PM. The staff and Dr. Jurkowski were again wonderful to work with! I highly recommend for anyone needing urgent care.

One stop shop for all you medical needs. This place is the place to go if you need results right away.
Its too bad, they are only at Scripps Area, the drive is a bit far if you are from Downtown.

My family and I have been here a handful of times.
The front desk/​customer service is adequate. I’ve never had issues (probably because there has been no issues with my insurance).
Wait times have been decent on the number of times I’ve been here. Nothing over excesses for an urgent care. A couple times I was in and out in super lightening speed.
I’ve seen the doctor that owns this urgent care a couple of times and I really like him. There is another woman Doctor that treated my son and she was great too. There is this feel of small time community doctor office here which I like.
So why only three stars? Well not all doctors here are equal. I came in for an issue that required testing and the possibly treatment of antibiotics. My test results came back negative but further testing needed to be made in order to truly see if I needed antibiotics. That test result wouldn’t come back for another 3 – 5 days. However, in the meantime I really wanted the antibiotics because 1. I was in pain and 2. I go through this issue a lot and many times I improve better being on antibiotics. Now I’m fully aware of the antibiotic epidemic going on. The theory that they are being overprescribed by doctors and we are becoming resistant to them. Trust me, this scares me since I have chronic issues that require antibiotics a few times a year. I use to avoid antibiotics like the plague. However, I’ve had a few incidents in getting extremely sick because i would refuse to take them. In the end, I ended up hurting myself because not only did I truly need antibiotics but since I waited so long, I needed a few rounds of them. I explained all this to the doctor. I also explained to her that I would like the antibiotics because I was going on vacation and felt like if my symptoms got worse, I’d have them. She was so adamant on NOT writing me a script and treated me like I had no knowledge in the subject. In reality, she wasn’t listening to me. She finally agreed to write me a RX for them but had me promise I would not fill the order until the final test results came back. Guess what? I filled the RX immediately, took them and got immediate relief.
So I’ll still come here but have gone to other urgent cares since because the last visit left me feeling they can’t adequately help me when I need it.

Excellent care, short wait times, were able to do everything I needed, better than an ER (in this situation). I would say I’ll be back but hopefully I just don’t get hurt again.

Came to this super friendly urgent care this morning (Sunday), was greeted by Shannon at the front desk. Checked in at 8am, saw the doctor (Sarah Purdy) at 8:22am. The nurse Natasha was very helpful at takimg xray, wrapping up my brother’s ankle and taught him how to use crutches. Towards the end, Shannon answered our other questions in regards to insurance. Everyone was super nice and friendly, highly recommend this urgent care. We walked out at 8:44am!

Great location with ample parking. Walked in with pain in my hand. Was greeted by the receptionist. In no time I was seen by the nurse Natasha. She was very helpful in getting my vitals and quick. I have been here before with my kids and doctors are very friendly as well. Much better than going to big hospitals’ Urgent Care.

Shannon was very professional kind and welcoming at the front desk as well as ms. Joanne and Dr. Sarah Purdy I would very much likely come back they have you in an out very professional nice and thorough great urgent care I recommend this place to all San Diego residents!

Living in Poway, Dr. Jurkowski practice is close by our residents which is super convenient. Dr. Jurkowski’s practice is not only for emergencies but he is also our family practitioner. Why we love this practice you ask? It’s because the staff there is fantastic! Mercedes (front desk manager) always makes me feel great when I call and when I arrive (she’s got such an outgoing personality). Super customer service from a fantastic medical practice, doctor and staff. Thank you Dr. Jurkowski for your relationship that I value!!!

I was recently visiting friends in the area with my two boys and my youngest tripped and cut his chin open after a long day of sun and fun. Not living in the area, I was a little panicked at where to take him. I did a quick search of local providers and found MD Today, which had great reviews. We drove straight there and they saw us immediately and couldn’t have made it easier to check in and process insurance, pay, etc. The staff was so kind to me and my little guy, and you could tell that they really cared about their patients. They even called the next day to see how he was doing. Highly recommend them!

Having this urgent care in our neighborhood is a blessing. We were greeted by one of the staff, Mercedes, at the front desk. She is efficient at what she does. She is also great at acknowledging the patients and family.
The doctors are thorough and do not rush through the process of assessing your condition to provide you with proper diagnosis and treatment.
Love this facility.

I came in here a couple of days ago, after already going to two other doctors. I was fit in right away because I was very sick by this point and the staff is beyond friendly and accommodating. The doctor was great as well. My experience was excellent. Thank you shannon for being so great!

Not being from California I dont have a regular doctor or really have anyone to go to for advice on where to go.
After suffering a cough for multiple days, I decided I should go get it looked at.
Mercedes was very nice and welcoming and also the Doc was great and made me feel comfortable and warned me I was fine.
I had a good experience.

I’ve never been to a better doctor’s office! They are located in Scripps Ranch and their hours are really great. Some days, you can see Dr. Jurkowski as late as 7:45 pm! Their office is really clean and warm-​feeling too.
The office is packed with great staff as well. I see Mercedes every time, and she is so sweet and kind. I can always recognize her voice over the phone because of her kind gesture. I think Kevin is in charge of the Admin Office, and he is really informed in the industry. He’s helped me figure stuff out with the insurance people which could be a pain.
Dr. Jurkowski is really a fantastic doctor. He really cares about his patients and their lives. He remembers convos from previous visits and asks about them too. He provides useful health advice outside of his main specialty, such as skin condition.
You have to keep in mind that Dr. Jurkowski is not the only doctor in this office. I’ve only seen 1 other doctor but if you want to book an appointment with Dr. Jurkowski specifically, you should call rather than using zocdoc. I’ve referred his office to my friends/​family and will continue to do so!

I had to get a physical quickly and called this facility. Over the phone they were able to book me an appointment in less than an hour. Conveniently located in a large strip mall and on a major roadway, it was very easy to find.
I came in about 15 minutes early and was immediately greeted. I was given the typical paperwork to fill out, but unlike other medical offices, this was fairly simple. Only two pages and it might have taken me 5 – 10 minutes to fill out, instead of the half a dozen pieces of paper you typically have to fill out in a doctors office that usually takes about 30 minutes.
After filling out the paperwork, I was brought back within about 5 minutes for my vital signs. After getting my vital signs taken I waited for the doctor to come in which was maybe 2 – 3 minutes. The doctor was very pleasant and after reviewing my medical history and going through the exam, we were done. From the time I called, to driving over, filling out forms, and going through the exam it was less than 90 minutes.
This was probably the best service I have received in a medical office and would recommend them if you ever need a physical or brief check up. The staff was incredibly nice and professional as was the doctor. The office was very clean and comfortable. I felt like I was in a brand new office.

Let me pre phase by saying I never made it in to see a doctor. Also this is a bit of a story so brace thy self.
I came in because I hurt my back. My company had just switched to a new health insurance so I didn’t have my ID number yet. Was told by my employer that any place I go to should be able to look me up by SSN and Dob. Was informed at this place that they don’t have access to that.
A bit annoying but understandable. Spent an hour talking to my insurance trying to get the member id. Basically because of my timing, insurance said that I should just pay out of pocket and file a claim. Again, a bit annoying but these things happen. They were able to give me my membership ID though.
Gave it to the front desk lady and start to fill out the forms. She tells me my plan is inactive/​incomplete. I tell her no problem and that I’ll just pay out of pocket and file a claim with insurance later.
This is when they tell me they don’t allow that. Wtf? The explanation I got was that it was too big an inconvenience for their office to have to refund me my money after the insurance pays them. If I’m a cash patient i can’t make a claim to my insurance. wTF?
I understand it’s their choice to have that office policy. But I still feel it’s a bad one.
