Alan did good work but wasn’t very quick about returning calls and emails when trying to things up. I also think my project wasn’t large enough to get the attention needed and it took over a month to get everything done. He was a very nice guy and if I had a large project, I’d call him. But won’t be calling him for any smaller projects

I made an appointment with Alan a week ago for a rental remodel. He asked me to email him, which I did along with an agreed upon time and location.
I really wanted to see what this guy could do, but with a no show, no call, it is time to move on.

Construction in your own home is nothing short of… say…emotional. Ups… Downs…In betweens… Suicide…Homicide?! :)
I am an interior designer by trade, and work with a vast array of contractors–
When selecting the contractor to remodel my own home I chose Alan for many reasons. In a nutshell… He has proven over the years of doing small jobs here and there for us– to be trustworthy, professional, clean, meticulous, with a great attention to detail. We are perfectionists, and needed that to be understood and maintained, and it was. Last but not least, Alan and his team always have a smile on their face and go above and beyond to make the customer happy– because the customer is always right! Alan and his team are a delight to work with. I miss my buddies!

Alan Lingol has done several remodels for me including a master bathroom, French doors, soffits and complete interior remodel of a 1918 Craftsman home. The 900 sf craftsman was taken down to the studs, walls removed and structural reinforcement added before the interior. A modern interior but with craftsman trim and appointments was the finished product. Alan was particular to correct sagging ceiling structure typical in a house of this type so that the ceiling was straight. I will use Alan again on my next project. He is a real craftsman.

We had Alan come out and give us a bid on our kitchen remodel. He showed up on time, was very courteous, and very thorough and exact in his measurements and his drawing of our kitchen dimensions. He answered all of our questions very thoughtfully. I wouldn’t hesitate to call him again or to recommend him to friends. Some people you just get a good sense about and Alan is one of them. We are selling our home and hired Alan to come in and get the house ready to sell. He installed new closet doors, patched holes and painted. The quality of his work is excellent. His prices are very competitive and reasonable. We are extremely happy with all the work he did! Our house is ready to be sold!!!

We engaged Lingol Construction to do a number of jobs for us on our home over the years, including a major remodel of most of the house a few years ago. This was a major project to replace the front façade with a new entrance and deck, sandblast and stucco, remodel the kitchen and baths, upgrade interior wiring and plumbing, replace all windows and doors, create a new room in the basement, add interior stairs, etc. etc. etc. resulting in nearly a re-​build of the entire house. It required an army of subcontractors … we were thankful that we had Alan Lingol engaged as the general contractor to manage the details.
Alan has a lot of experience in the construction business and was able to work with our architect, engineer, and countless sub-​contractors. He also has strong people-​skills and he listened carefully to our ideas and concerns. He was organized and thoughtful. We requested many modifications as the project progressed and we were able to work through the inevitable issues that come up with a project of this size. We are very pleased with the end-​product … after-​all, we live in our house every day.
In many cases Alan came up with some great ideas that we had not thought of and now look back with relief that we had incorporated some of those ideas … even if you’re an expert yourself, you still want somebody who can look at things with a keen eye and suggest alternatives.
There are «before and after» pictures of our kitchen posted on the company’s website. Our parents also engaged his services on their beautiful home in La Jolla which included a kitchen remodel and replacement of doors and windows.
We would not hesitate to engage Lingol Construction on our next project.

Alan was general contractor for my 2010 Kitchen Remodel. Based on several experiences with contractors over the years I would rate Alan «one of the best». He is a clear communicator, cared about the details like he was the owner, gave me a calendar of what would happen when and completed the job in a timely manner and on budget. I especially appreciated his ability to work with my designer, his personal appearance when the granite guys were here to «make sure all went right» and other personal touches along the way. This is a guy you can trust to do the right thing every time.
