This food truck is just plain overpriced. Their«Cuban» sandwich is basically a kraft single and some deli ham on brick toast and costs 9 dollars. Their burrito is also very lackluster and cost 8 dollars. Their website has a much larger menu than their truck actually carries and both my coworker and I suffered upset stomachs after eating here.

At this week’s Curbside Bites Food Truck lunch excursion I was excited to try a truck I hadn’t seen before. I, of course, checked out the menu in advance and pretty much knew what I was going to get prior to my arrival. The Experience: The menu offered today was a fraction of what they have listed on the website, but my choice was still there so I was in luck. There was a big crowd for this truck, and that can mean two things with a food truck typically; They are really good or their kitchen has crashed. I should have known when it took me 10 minutes to get to the front of the line, and there were only like 5 people who had yet to order. I had my eye on the Mixed Grill, which was Marinated Grilled Chicken, Grilled Arrachera Steak & Pork Sausage served w/Rice & Black Beans for $ 10. I asked for my Mixed Grill with no beans, paid and began waiting for my food to be ready. My colleagues who had come with me to Curbside Bites went to the MyUrbanEats truck for their orders. We waited for a while together, then one of them got their food and went to sit down at one of the few chairs nearby. Then the other got their food. I continued to wait and wait and wait. While I was waiting, another person got his food, got halfway across the street then came back. He had asked to substitute the sides, and it was wrong. OK, OK. One not so bad. The girl who had ordered in front of me had asked for her Chicken Sandwich with no tomatoes. She asked very clearly as I heard her while I was on line behind her. She asked the guy who gave her the food if that was the one with no tomatoes, he didn’t know and had to check. It had tomatoes, but she was the next one that should have been served and at this point was so tired of waiting she said she would pick them off herself. By now, my coworkers had finished their food, and were waiting on me to get my food. Then there was a guy who had been standing there for 40 minutes already, when he inquired about his food, they didn’t have his ticket anymore. By the time I got my food, I had waited 32 minutes from ordering. Yes, I timed it. 32 minutes, plus the 10 to order. Is it my fault for waiting 42 minutes for food truck food, or really food at any restaurant? Yes. I wonder what the refund process is at a food truck. Is there one? Anyway, I took my food back to the office now that my lunch break was over and my colleagues had already finished their meals. The guy who gave me my food did apologize and thank me for waiting. He did look sincere about it too. The Food: The chicken was good. Very flavorful with the spices, cooked right and very juicy. It is a very thin piece. The steak was good, too. Cooked medium rare which I love and had a good flavor to it. The sausage was surprisingly good too as I am a little particular with that type of meat. I expected to east a few bites of that and throw the rest out, but I ate most of it. The rice & beans, well for starters… I had beans. I asked for no beans, but there they were. Oh well. The rice was not good. It was dry and kinda cold. It kind of smelled a little like seafood. I very quickly discarded it. Overall: The meat was good. It was definitely not worth the wait, and the jury is still out on whether it was worth $ 10. If there was a minimal wait I may try it again. They advertise Cuban flavors and I really like Cuban food, but I would not recommend choosing this place to others based on this experience. They also advertise catering, I wonder if that would be any better.
