Kearny Mesa FIAT

Just found out the they closed there doors, very sorry that this happened, great personal.

sorry to say it seems like they have closed down. just called to try and make a service visit to have my oil changed, and i got a recorded message saying that they were closed. it suggested to go to mossy fiat or to bob baker in carlsbad. too bad as this was one of the best fiat/​car dealers around. no pressure and the service department was awesome. on time and accurate with their estimates. i feel very badly that they closed, was going to trade in my 500 prima for a turbo or abarth. i guess that’s not happening anymore. thanks for the memories.

Very sad that they closed! Everyone was super nice here especially Jason and George in service and Geseppe in sales. Hope that I run into them again somewhere and hope the service is as good at one of the two other dealers in San Diego!

I bought my second fiat after my first fiat was totaled in a car accident where I was hit in the rear, and flipped, yet leaving myself and two passengers unharmed. That 500pop was bought used at a Honda dealer. I decided on another 500pop due to the great safety ratings and the obvious fact that those ratings are true! I was very excited about my new fiat from Kearny Mesa! The staff in service have been the best people, and always remember me and my new baby! I want to give the Service department 5 stars for all their hard work! Thank you guys!
But, my problem, and possibly yours if you purchase from Fiat, came to rear its ugly head when I got a blow out on the freeway. I have many talents, and I certainly know how to change a tire, so I go to the compartment to get everything prepared, and I become confused. Where’s my spare??? Am I crazy? I’m not seeing a spare! So
I call the dealership (this is at about 1230pm) and ask where the spare is located. «well, our dealer noticed that the Los Angeles fiat were selling their cars without the spares to make more sales, as its cheaper to buy them without, so they do that here as well. There’s a tool under your driver seat with fix-​a-​flat inside combined with a device that airs your tire if you plug it into your ac adapter… no, you have to add the spare when you buy the car… fiat is a foreign company and they don’t add spares .»
First of all… Fix-​a-​flat, if my tire were not completely blown with a huge gaping hole, RUINS your tires. I do not recommend anyone use it unless you have no other options.
Secondly, and most importantly, (here’s the part that may affect YOU if you purchase) THEY DO NOT TELL YOU THAT THE CAR DOES NOT COME WITH A SPARE DURING PURCHASE or ever, UNLESS you have a flat!!! I had TWO people with me during my purchase, one being my capable mother and the other being my veteran boyfriend, and at no point did a spare come up, and if it had we all would have said «YES WE WANT A SPARE
TIRE!!!» Of course, who would even ASK if it came with a spare?!? I have owned MANY domestic AND FOREIGN cars and ALL have come with spares, no extra fee, because that is expected when you buy a car. It is completely unreasonable to think to even ASK if it comes with a spare, if that responsibility should have been mine. That responsibility to tell the three of us that the spare is an extra ADD ON, is the salesmans and the dealers. I was not given that opportunity nor choice when buying my car. BEWARE!!!
Or you TOO could be stranded on a busy freeway for 4 hours while waiting on a tow, because, lord help you if you call fiats free roadside, and the closest fiat dealer is closed, they cannot do a thing for you but have their rep not understand why you don’t want your car towed to the dealer when it’s closed and will be the next day for tire replacement!
I am VERY VERY disappointed at Kearny Mesa Fiat for causing me such grief then and the next time I may get a flat and have NO SPARE to use, because you can be sure I’ll be cursing Kearny Mesa Fiat under my breath !!

Just leased our 2016 Fiat 500X from these folks. It was a wonderful experience. Sean Russell has been working with us to find the exact one we wanted. It was a no hassle, no pressure experience. Everyone at the dealership treated us with courtesy, respect and professionally. Sean listened and understood what we wanted and did everything to ensure we got what we wanted.
I recommend them highly.

George in Service is a class act. My 500e’s gauge cluster went out suddenly, so I asked around who was a good SA at a good dealership. George was unanimously the go to guy. I called him and he told me to have the 500e towed in. I did. George took care of it and kept me in the loop. I work in Palm Springs half the week and was 150 miles away when this was all happening, so I was glad that George was such a great help. Unlike some places, George remembered to have my car fully charged for me and I really appreciated that. The car was all ready and he had my paperwork prepared for me. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Thanks George!

This review is for the service department, particularly Jason who is my service advisor. He provided impeccable services. He kept me in the loop throughout the day to provide the status of my car.
This Fiat dealership offered free shuttle, but it must be within 10 miles of the radius. Well, this can be quite a challenge when I don’t live within the 10 miles and it wasn’t like there is another fiat from my house distance. Jason was accommodating and went ahead to have a driver drop /​pick up. This type of customer services (bending rules to satisfied customers) to me, personally is something will leave me a completed satisfaction.
If I can suggest just one thing to this service department, I would suggest to never returned a serviced car back to the owner uncleaned.

I just bought a Fiat 500L from this dealer. Giuseppe was really nice and so was every other sale person I talked to. I got the deal my husband and I wanted. My husband is a disabled vet who could not deal with the 100 degree heatwave today so I went and checked out the car and started the paperwork. Giuseppe was nice enough to follow me home all the way to North County (since we hate Bob Baker fiat due to bad experiences) so my husband could complete the paperwork! Very nice people. Painless experience!

So after having one of the worst salesmen experiences yesterday at Kearny Mesa Fiat, I had the best experience ever via a phone call to Fremont Fiat. Salesman Matt at Fremont Fiat not only was nice and patient with me, he answered all my questions and to top it off, they have the 500e I want. And can deliver to SD. Not only did the jerks at Kearny Mesa roll their eyes at me, but they tried to talk me out of buying the 500e, (and even a Fiat,) and told me they didn’t have the car I wanted and couldn’t get it for me and had no eta of when the next shipment would come in. Fremont Fiat has it and can get it to me in a week. I ask anyone who reads this: 1. Don’t give business to Kearny Mesa Fiat, 2. Someone find me the contact information for the president of Fiat. I think he should be told the business practices of Kearny Mesa Fiat. Especially how they treat women.

I’ve been to both dealerships in San Diego… These are the guys that deserve your business. EVERY time they are honest, efficient, and just… so damn pleasant. lol
My faves are George and Jason, they are the best. Just sincerely cool people.

My not so beloved Pontiac died a few weeks ago and the cost of fixing it is more than it’s worth, so I’ve been in the market for a new car. With a few hours to kill last week, I decided to check out the dealerships on Convoy to see what type of car I would like to get before doing serious shopping. I started at Kearny Mesa Fiat because I had always liked their style.
I was able to look around the small lot for a few minutes before Joseph came out from the building to see if I needed some help. I explained that my car had died, and true to its nature, it had the worst possible timing for breaking down, leaving me with a not so large budget to work with. Right away, he steered me towards a used car, even though a new Pop was within my budget. He was also incredibly patient about listening to and addressing my concerns about buying any car because my Pontiac had always been a hassle without being condescending or pushy. He also let me take a car out for a test drive almost right away with only my license (other places made me give a ton of contact info first). Then I was able to leave without any pressure to buy that night or at all really. The whole experience took maybe half an hour, including the test drive.
I had such great experience there that evening, and such horrible experiences with other dealerships down the street, that I decided to come back and buy a used Pop that weekend. This review is already too long, so I’ll just add that they also made financing painless and easy.

This is one of the best fiat dealerships I have been to. When you call ask for Jason-​he is amazing at customer service and he fixed and resolved my issue quickly. I was able to get an oil change the next morning and they checked everything on my fiat to make sure it was all good to go.
On a side note this studio was really friendly and super clean. I love that no one is pushy and I was offered coffee and water from everyone.

Just bought a 2015 fiat sport from these guys and I must say that the service was nothing like I have experienced before. I have bought many vehicles before from different dealerships and I can truly say that my experience at fiat was the best, hands down! I would highly recommend Joseph, Linda and Frank as your tour guides. I refer to them as the three «fiatcateers» because they will look after you from the time you step into the showroom to the test drive all the way through the final paperwork in a no pressure environment. From used cars to new cars, the service is 5 stars across the board (by the way, I did buy a used smart car from these guys too!). If you want a friendly, no hassle and very knowledgable super crew of fiatcateers, please go check them out. You will not be disappointed!

We have bought 5 cars from this dealer and the salespeople are great. The service department has been the opposite and after repeat experiences we have come to the conclusion that we will never buy another vehicle from this dealer.
They didn’t call back even after leaving messages with the service manager, they were very condescending with my wife and their «testing» brakes that have failed on a steep hill didn’t seem to involve checking the parking brake on a similar incline, if they even checked. Instead, they blamed the problem on my wife.
With the number of serious problems cars have today that involve companies like Toyota and Takata trying to cover up things that have led to deaths from faulty parts, you would think the Fiat service would be able to reassure you their inspection was perfect and not put blame on an owner for a problem that they don’t have an answer for.
I am very disappointed that we did not get a return call or indication from anyone at this dealership that they have done a good job evaluating our brakes or they are putting their own words behind the safety of the car my wife drives.
Addendum: I read you response George, but I never received a call until this morning. The numbers I gave you were to my cell and our 24 hr surgeon answering service so it would be impossible to leave «numerous messages» and not have us receive them. Thanks.

Buying cars have three part in my opinion: research, in-​person buying and post sale.
(1−2 Weeks) Research: inventory on the website was up to date and in stock Not in some lot 30 – 100 miles away. The website was fun… Just like the cars. :)
(Rainy Sunday) In-​person buying: 3 cars were test drove and one was selected. We traded in our 2012 Tahoe Z71 (KBB 28K good) and Fiat Dealer gave us 22K’ish, Discounted the car and applied a Manufacture Rebate. Ultimately we left 2.5 hours later with The Deal Ship owing us 2K and a brand new 500 Lounger with all the goodies.
(Monday) Post Sale: I went in to purchase accessories. :) Floor mats, mud flaps, chrome gas cap and more. Currently waiting for the part to arrive. (7÷25÷15) once all parts are installed and the car transaction is complete I will finish the review.
7÷30− Check arrived (1) week early. Nice work Sean. Under promise and over deliver.
7÷31− Confirmed accessories arrived and they had to to install same. Amazing! I scheduled the install for ⁸⁄₅.
Four People helped us: Sean Russell (sales 10 Stars), nice lady (test drive co-​pilot), Getter Done (Accessory Sales) and (finance)

My husband and I just went through our first car purchasing experience with Kearny Mesa Fiat and we had a great experience with them. Joseph was very friendly and helpful in showing us the cars telling us all of the details of the Fiat Pop during our test drive. We felt at ease the entire time and never felt pressured to make an immediate purchase.
What I really appreciated was that when we decided to go ahead and make the purchase, there was absolutely no pressure to add on any useless extras. My parents came with us to guide us through the process and they were very impressed by the honesty Joseph and the rest of the employees showed us. They even joked that my husband and I got a wrong first impression of what buying car is like because they have never seen the process be so easy and fast. By the time we were done filling out our paperwork my dad found an Abarth he liked and ended up buying a car for himself.
Joseph gave me a brief but through tutorial on all the features in the car and also helped me sync my phone to it with the bluetooth feature.
My husband and I love our new Fiat 500 Pop and my dad is very happy with his new Abarth.

Just got home with our new Fiat Abarth from Kearny Mesa Fiat Alfa Romeo!

While this was not the first one we test drove, after Sean and I were discussing the merits of the other Abarth with all the goodies, he got me a better deal and an Abarth with 6 miles on it. I am the only person to have driven this, other than the delivery driver taking it off the truck :-). I really liked the fact that you took the time to go over all the paperwork and all the details about how to get the most out of this guy. Very happy and excited to get to drive it again tomorrow and it’s MINE!

Initially I was looking for a mini cooper but I decided to check out the Fiat dealership first as I’ve always thought of Fiat cars to be cute and fun looking. Long story short I ended up purchasing a Fiat 500c POP CABRIO after all. I have to say that my experience since I arrived at the dealership was exceptional.
I was assisted by ASHLEY SADLER who is a very knowledgeable and helpful associate to say the least! She answered all my questions (and I had plenty) showed and demonstrated to me how to navigate all the unique aspects of the vehicle. I never once felt pressured or hassled to buy anything which is an AWESOME feeling when car buying. I definitely recommend working with Ashley in particular, she knows her stuff when it comes to Fiats and is genuinely personable!
There was another man (Spanish speaking) who worked there and who I don’t believe is a sales consultant but who was also extremely helpful and who DEFINITELY DESERVES A RAISE OR RECOGNITION because if it wasn’t for him I don’t think I would have walked inside one of the showrooms with the additional inventory of cars which ultimately ended up with the sale.
All in all, I walked away with the RIGHT car for me at exactly the EXACT price I wanted. I am highly satisfied with the service provided at Kearny Mesa Fiat and if you’re looking for someone who will get you what you want and a fantastic deal then I especially recommend asking for Ashley Sadler, she makes it happen.

They’re very down to earth, there’s no games played. You don’t have to worry about each salesman trying to compete over you to gain commission. They work as a team there, and it is clear in the way that they act and interact with customers. I’m from Escondido, and I went to Kearny Mesa Fiat! You should too!!!

Don’t get me wrong. I LOVE my Abarth, but I was so excited to see an electric Fiat come out. And trust me, they went all out on it. What a speedy little car!
Joseph was there to greet us, of course! If you’re planning on checking out the Fiats, definitely ask for him. He’s such a friendly, personable and knowledgable guy when it comes to these little cars. And he will crunch those numbers and do whatever he can to get you into the car of your dreams.
I’ve also dealt with some other people at the dealership and the Service department. Everyone there is great!
