Jon Cassell is literally the most amazing dentist I’ve ever had in my life. He’s extremely kind and affectionate, caring and considerate. I’m so pleasantly surprised. I’ll never ever go to anyone else. It’s over. I’ve found «the one». And let me not forget to shoutout the amazingly friendly staff. This office is A1!

Dr Cassell is AMAZING. I had gone to another dentist who was insisting I have a root canal which i’m strongly against. Dr. Cassell was able to fill the tooth and save it from being extracted. He’s the best dentist ever.

I will not be coming back to this office. After spending over 2 months in pain I went to see another dentist. During my initial visit at the new dentist I was told 2 of the fillings I had just gotten needed to be replaced. I told him that I had some intense hot/​cold sensitivity and he told me one had partially fallen out and the other wasn’t sealed properly so would also eventually fall out too. So glad I went to this other dentist when I did. I am so happy to no longer be in pain.

Amazing dentist & staff! Everyone is so friendly and informative. I was even helped picking insurance for my family. Dr. Cassell is very honorable in telling you what needs to be done. You can tell he truly loves what he does. I highly recommend this office.

I am 60 years old and of course been going to dentists all my life. Dr. Cassell and his staff are by far the most professional and caring dentistry office I have ever been to. My son and my husband also have gone and are both enthusiasts also. How can one ever say a visit to the dentist is a pleasant one? Well, it is at Dr. Cassell’s office. I have been seeing Jon Cassell for approximately 14 years now and never been disappointed. They never try to push procedures that you don’t need. Your comfort and dental health truly is their primary concern.
We are moving to Spain and I will truly miss Dr. Cassell’s tender and professional care!

I’ve been meaning to write this review for months now. Dr. Cassell is hands down the most amazing dentist I have ever seen in my whole life. And trust me, I am VERY picky and cautious and I’ve been to 10 or more dentist in my lifetime. I’ve been to several San Diego dentist who just wanted to upsell me crowns (when all I need were fillings) and ridiculous gum cleanings. I swear I often feel like I’m being sold a used car when I’m at some of these places. Dr Cassell is honest, kind and very informative and tries to work with you and help you do what you need and want without being dishonest or pushy.
He’s saved me over 10 thousand bucks, no joke. I refer everyone I know to him and his incredible staff. Everyone who works here is genuine and friendly and makes you feel appreciated and safe. So thankful I found them and will never trust anyone else in San Diego with my teeth again. If you are hesitant, at least go in and meet him and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

This is the first time I’ve felt compelled to write a review. This place exceeded all my expectations of a dentist appointment. In additon to the excellent knowlege and performance that Dr. Cassel and his team displayed, they have outstanding bedside manner — compared to anywhere in the health industry.

I don’t normally write Unilocal reviews, especially not for a dentist. I hate going to dentists, and hate even more deciding on which dentist to go to. I’ve had really bad experiences before with an unethical dentist who caused more harm than good. However, I’m super happy to have found Dr. Cassell. Dr. Cassell’s superb customer service and friendliness prompted me to write this review.
I’m very impressed with Dr. Cassell’s bedside manner. Before and during the procedure, he’s very thorough with explaining what he’s doing and why. He’s also super considerate and caring about his patient’s comfort during the procedure, and frequently asks how you are doing and works efficiently to minimize the time you have to keep your mouth open. After the procedure, he always expresses willingness to address any issues you may have with his work. And, he is the only dentist that I’ve ever gone to that would PERSONALLY CALL after doing a filling to check up on how you are doing! He redid five old fillings that were causing issues for me, and so far I’m feeling pretty good about them.
Highly recommend anyone who’s fearful and distrustful of dentist to go see Dr. Cassell. I think he’ll make anyone feel at ease and feel like they are in good hands.

Dr. Cassell is not only the best dentist I’ve ever had but, but best doctor in any practice. He is 100% committed to making sure you’re informed and comfortable. As someone who usually goes 2 – 3 years between dental visits because of my intense fear, I am so thankful to have found this office. Instead of making you feel guilty or embarrassed if you have some dental issues, Dr. Cassell simply explains what needs to be done in a positive tone.
Front office staff is very friendly as well :) If we ever leave San Diego I will drive hours to use this office!

Dr. Cassell is a true professional. I have nothing but great things to say about him and his staff, from the front office to the dental hygienist.
I walked in with a cavity, on a tricky tooth, that had been redone twice before by other dentists, but a year after visiting Dr. Cassell I can finally say that my cavity has been properly sealed and done for the last time!
He also checks your jawline for any abnormalities and possible tumors. Good on ya Dr. Cassell :)
He even called me later that day and made sure all was well.

I had a crown done here, among other things, and avoided a root canal. Dr. Cassell is a great dentist. I am a VERY nervous patient. Unfortunately the first crown didn’t fit right, so I had to go through the process again. Dr. Cassell is very skilled and offers a quality product. However, I ALWAYS had a problem with the front desk staff. She is incredibly rude (wish I could remember her name) and I literally spent MONTHS arguing with her over billing… I had two insurance carriers and she refused to bill one of them because I was married, despite showing her a letter directly from the company stating I had coverage regardless of marital status (among a list of other items). It took me months to get a $ 450 refund, after she finally billed my second insurance. I had to ultimately threaten that I would escalate this to my insurance company if she didn’t give me my money back… not sure if she was trying to pull a fast one and double bill? Who knows. Once I mentioned that, she put the refund check in the mail ASAP.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t have an extra $ 450 to spare. If it wasn’t a constant battle with the front desk staff, I would have continued seeing Dr. Cassell. Unfortunately, that young woman is just so unbearable. It is possible that she is just following doctor’s orders, but who knows. I’m done taking that risk.

I have always loved going to Dr. Cassell’s office. With his new associate Dr. Stewart I left feeling robbed. He conducted procedures that were not necessary and didn’t ask me first. I didn’t know until I got the bill. He sure snuck one by me to put more money in his pocket. I have really good teeth and the procedure he did is for diseases of the mouth. Not necessary and took $ 133 out of my pocket because it was not covered by insurance. Be cautious at this office!

By far Dr. Cassell has been the BEST dentist I have ever been to. I drive more than with no hesitation to see him. After a horrible experience with another dentist and full of anxiety Dr. Cassell made me believe in good dentists again. He is very caring and honest, if you are looking for someone you can trust and know that literally you are in good hand look no further!!! Thank you Dr. Cassell :)

Dr. Cassell and his office deserve all 5 stars. They are fantastic. My fiancé and I were brand new to San Diego and his mouth needed some work, but we were worried about where to go because of bad experiences in the past with dentists. (the kind that prescribe crazy expensive treatment plans with no other options or who say you have 6 cavities when you have 1) The internet led me Dr. Cassell and his convenient Mission Valley location. My fiancé had an outstanding experience and now we won’t go anywhere else!
I have had great experiences each time I go, and I am a major stress case when it comes to cleanings, fillings, everything dental makes me freak out! They are kind and patient, and Dr. Cassell is a really down to earth guy and a professional dentist dedicated to his patients. He explains options, pros and cons, things that are going well with your mouth, things you can do to improve etc. His assistant and hygienists are great too.
The girls at reception are always so helpful and nice! Plus they remember you and what’s going on in your life which for me, makes a big difference in the experience of a medical office. I love just chatting with them!

BEST DENTAL VISIT OF MY LIFE!
At the ripe age of 24, I figured I should probably get rid of my 3 impacted wisdom teeth. After searching online, I gave Dr. Cassell’s office a call after hearing some good things about him. His office being within a mile of my workplace also worked out great for me. The receptionist was able to schedule me for a quick consultation to include X-​rays and a general check-​up during my lunch break.
Dr. Cassell walked me through the check-​up with constructive comments of what I was doing correctly and areas I should be concerned about. He doesn’t just lay out all the issues; he makes a point to explain why and what we can do. I walked out of that appointment feeling like I just came out of a very useful college lecture. :)
I was quickly set up with an appointment for the extraction itself. On the day of, my boyfriend drove me to my appointment. I actually did not feel as nervous as I thought I would be. I don’t quite remember much nor did I feel any pain. After the procedure, Dr. Cassell gave my boyfriend some information on pain killers and foods to eat. Recovery was a breeze and I felt good enough to eat solids after a couple days.
My dental insurance plan has changed since then, so I actually have not gotten around to checking whether Dr. Cassell is still within my network. However, if he still is, I will definitely go to him for all my dental needs. :)

I found Dr. Cassell through Unilocal and was excited that his office had great reviews! I was in recently because my crown that I had for about 3 years came off while eating a rice crispy treat (darn it). In panic, I started looking up dentists around my area and came across Unilocal reviews on how amazing his staff and office was. I used to be a dental assistant so when it comes down to it, I’m really picky on where I go and how I’m being treated as a «regular» patient.
When I made that phone call to set up an appointment, I asked if they were accepting new patients and if they were able to see me as soon as possible. I didn’t want to wait for this crown to be put back on because well I’m kinda OCD when it comes to my teeth. PLUS, who knows what kind of things are growing up in there (cavities, infections. yuck). The office manager (?), told me that they would be able to see me that afternoon and I was stoked!
Came in, filled out some paper work and in about 10 minutes I was seated in the operatory. Shortly after that, Dr. Cassell came in and introduced himself and asked me questions about my crown. He looked at it and basically told me everything that he needed to do to get this crown back in place. I love how detailed he was, step by step on what I should feel, expect, and taste (the glue was disgusting haha, but the DA did a great job rinsing and suctioning the taste away). 10 minutes passed and he was all done!
Now, I’m going back this week for a cleaning with the hygienist. Overall, my experience was great, and I can’t wait to come back! The staff suppppppper nice and the doctor himself, really friendly (i’ve met some really rude doctors)!
