Everything from the consult/​quote to the last box moved out the my house was outstanding! Jordan and crew were fast and professional! Two guys packed and moved ¾ quarters of my house in less than 2 hours. I’ve done multiple moves in my military career and this company is the best!

I had a week to move across country and I found this moving company online. Everything was so easy and they got my stuff to my final destination in a week and a half.

I wasn’t going to give this company a review, but after starting to unpack I felt I needed to warn others.
We were assigned Johnson Storage and Moving as our final PCS from the military. We moved from San Diego back to the East Coast, and the experience from start to finish has been absolutely despicable. First, the movers were late arriving, and only showed up with half-​manning. The two guys that showed up were great, and said that there were 2 more women coming and the house should only take about 2 hours to complete. The other two women didn’t show up for 3 hours into the move, and to top it all off they brought a young girl with them. Several times throughout the move they asked if she could come in and use the bathroom, as she had been sitting outside in the truck. If that’s your level of professionalism, I’m surprised you are still in business.
Moving on to the packing. We started realizing about halfway through that things weren’t being packed well. This was confirmed when they finished and we had about half the boxes we normally have. This was our 5^th military move, so it isn’t like we were unaware that something was wrong. On top of that, they left a couple boxes open and told us to just put stuff in the boxes as we found items. What kind of packing company doesn’t thoroughly check the house to make sure everything is packed?!? We did a walk through of the house, and found tons of things unpacked, but they said the driver would pack them. They also came with one less mattress box than they were supposed to have because they used it at a job prior to ours. We were told they would bring a mattress box the next morning before the driver arrived. Surprise. The driver arrived the next morning and we were still without a mattress box. After the driver walked through the house, he told us the pack job was unacceptable due to the amount of things left unpacked. We actually had to get the packers to come back out and pack all the remaining items.
Jump forward 4 months to unpacking day at our new house. There were at least 15 items unlabeled when coming off the truck. We also discovered there are at least half a dozen boxes with absolutely no writing on them to indicate whats in the boxes. We are finding kitchen stuff mixed in with office stuff, unwrapped pictures, and smashed items. They put a decorative cinder block on top of a ton of paintball gear. The majority of the boxes had things just randomly thrown in, and we found that they used our nice pillows in some boxes to cushion the other items instead of using their paper. Many boxes didn’t have paper at all. My boots and roller blades were thrown on top of my wife’s shoes, pretty much making most of them unwearable. The thing that irritates me the most though is my welder. I found my welder inside of one of my coolers. Not only was their no paper to cushion it inside my cooler, but the cooler wasn’t deep enough for the welder. What is their solution for this? They bent the welding wire cable and other cables over. Now the cable is crimped and will no longer function properly to feed the wire out.
As a military member, you have the right to request a different company once one is assigned to you for your PCS. Save yourself a lot of trouble, and don’t let them stick you with this company.

Prior to pack date… I (the customer) had to call them multiple times to get things rolling to the next step. (I had to call multiple times to get the premove survey initiated, which was irritating.)
Actual pack date on 6/19…my movers Javier and Jonathan were friendly, efficient, and did a great job. I would like working with them again. Thank you, guys! :-)

So it’s the day of my move and I have no idea when they are coming, it was like pulling teeth to get a pre-​move survey done. I am so scared for when they get here. Be afraid of this company, be very afraid.

Unbelievably horrible… 6 months later I’m still sorting out the mess this company made of my military move. They were a no show on the first day of the move. Serious damages to many of my belongings, several things went missing and they didn’t weigh the items that were suppose to be exempt from my weight limit even though it was clearly explained to them. To top it off they charged the military 44,000 $ to move me coast to coast, with a large portion of that now coming out of my own pocket. Thanks Johnson!

Sharon at Johnson was not only low bidder, but top in service as well. The packers did a great job with all of our breakables, and no damage. Driver and crew were friendly and worked non-​stop; driver remembered how to reassemble beds, desks, TV stands, etc. Packing, loading, and unloading went as scheduled.

I am only leaving one star because my update can’t be 0.
Upon officially moving and unpacking everything we have come to the conclusion that the movers we had were not only inconsiderate but had no care for military items.
They also did not follow our directions as to how we wanted things packed but then again we have discovered more things than originally thought to be missing unaccounted for.
If we had known how poorly our experience would be I would have made my husband help me pack our belongings and move them ourselves. At least then I would know where everything was.
Worst experience on a military move I could have ever thought possible.

First off, if I could give ZERO stars I would. They showed up several hours late to pack our things. Most times they didn’t handle our things with care. They literally just THREW our things in boxes without it being wrapped. The boxes were so unorganized. For example, we would find our dvds in our food box. Ridiculous. When we opened up some of the boxes after receiving it, some of the things that were just thrown in there were smashed and damaged. Upon being late, one of the packers had the audacity to go outside & chit chat for a while with a female that drove up to the location in between packing. The packers didn’t leave till about 7:30/8:00 pm. It pretty much turned into a 12 hour day with having to sit around with the movers & wait for this company’s packers to show up & then them actually having to pack. One of the packers also seemed to have an attitude the whole time. They also left tons of trash in & outside of our apartment. We also found tons of empty tape rolls thrown in our boxes. Just unprofessional all around. If we had a choice, we wouldn’t of chose them to begin with because of the poor reviews all over the internet but unfortunately the military chose this company for us. Do yourself a favor & go with another company. No joke. Worst. Company. EVERRR.

Absolutely the worst packers I’ve ever dealt with. I’m doing a military move and these guys were horrible. First off they knocked something over and didn’t pick it up, just stepped over it. They didn’t pack everything. They came fours late. Very unprofessional. One guy was outside talking to some chick while the other one was packing. Left their belongings and trash. The best part was when they left. My recommendation, do NOT hire this company.

Most of the negative reviews say enough, but I just want to add what a horrible experience getting reimbursed for broken items has been. It’s probably important to note that almost everything Johnson Storage and Moving does they contract out, including, it seems, their claims. We moved early June and it’s now late November. After repeated phone calls and emails with very little response, we finally received our reimbursement for broken items two weeks ago. However, they left off a few items and shortchanged us on the beveled mirror they broke, which was a family heirloom. Now we seem to be back to square one: no response to our emails or calls. We’re worried that depositing the check will mean we’ve accepted their offer of reimbursement, so we wait. .. and wait. .. and wait.

This has to be the worst moving company ever. They were very unprofessional. They packed trash, broke many items and I am still missing items like our love seat, parts that belonged to a bed, and a big ladder. The ladder is another thing. The guy that delivered was trying to convince my wife that we never had a ladder to begin with even though it clearly states we have a ladder in the inventory. Worst of all when they took apart our dressers, desks, beds, and lawn mower they failed to label the hardware and threw all the nuts and bolts in a box. So when they delivered our belongings the men weren’t able to put our things back together again. Our bed ended up missing a nail for the mattress support. And instead of unscrewing a support board they simply ripped it off and broke the board instead. Terrible frustrating experience and it is upsetting that they don’t take the time to do their job right.

This is not only the worst moving company, it’s the worst company ever! I am 8 months pregnant… we were moved from San diego to Virginia… they took a month to deliver less than half of our stuff. and they haven’t found the rest. Lack of communication, professionalism, experience and they don’t care for their customers. I really HOPE they do something about this, because we are the ones that need to be calling every day every hour to find out if they have found any of our stuff. seriously??? we had a full house and they don’t find them. I will never do a military move again, first and last time… not only time and money but the stress is not worth, I haven’t been able to sleep because they can’t give us an answer on where our stuff are or when we will see them. I have to be calling directly Johnson every hour and every day because they will never give a call to tell us what is going on… oh and to pack they took 11 hours, 11 hours to pack a 2 bedroom apartment, the 2 movers were taking breaks every 30 minutes, because of course the military pays them per hour, they packed everything in crates and they can’t find the crates now… this is a nightmare seriously, is not good for me or our baby… we are already taking legal action on these, I hope they can find all our stuff and deliver them very soon of they will be in trouble

OMG. If I can give negative 1 star to this moving company I would. This is the worst moving company in San Diego. We waited for them on our scheduled time between 8 to 10 am. So at 0950 I called them and ask where the movers and the front desk don’t have any clue about the movers or the drivers. So I waited until 1010 and no show. So I decided to call our moving agent about this company and complained. After a few minutes I received a call from the manager and told me that they are on their way. By that time I left my storage and told the manager that they can wait for me since they wasted my time.
DO NOT GET THIS MOVING COMPANY. I am warning you. Their review says it all. I really don’t have choice since it’s a military move but that shouldn’t be an excuse. If you are doing a regular move don’t ever waste your time. They really sucks.

These are the movers for you if you want a total lack of professionalism, complete lack of courtesy, and zero support when the inevitable problems occur. It is amazing to me that they are still in business.
We moved in April and had to split our household goods and furniture into three separate shipments: local, storage and shipment later, ship directly to the East Coast. Locally they put a hole in the wall of the home we vacated, ruined most of the potted plants they were hired to move, broke furniture and framed pictures, and failed to meet a clearly explained time deadline at the new home resulting in a citation from the new HOA.
The shipment that made it to the East Coast was late and the wrong load. The correct shipment finally made it there two months late — with a broken piano.
The shipment for storage first went to the East Coast then, supposedly, to Colorado and finally to New Orleans for storage. The only problem is that no one has seen fit to provide any type of documentation to verify that this in fact the case.
I have tried to resolve the problems amicably from the start but Jim Bargeron has chosen to ignore any responsibility to the extent that he won’t even return phone calls. A new GM by the name of Aaron seems to fit right in as he also hasn’t bothered to return my call.
So, in review, if you want to deal with folks who couldn’t care less about you or your belongings this is definitely the company to hire.
And as a side note do not expect anyone from the United corporate office to assist you in any way.
I would give negative stars if it were possible.

They told us to give them 2 weeks notice to get our stuff out of storage and transported to Atlanta, GA from San Diego, CA. We gave them 3 weeks notice and the stuff was delivered late. In addition to this they lost ¹⁄₃ of my stuff. How do you lose a dining room table, couch and queen size bed and mattresses? They kept refusing to commit to a delivery date until the day before they delivered which made it very hard to plan our move. They paid for an air mattress for us to sleep on while they tried to find our stuff. Are you serious? It has been over 10 days. How long are we supposed to sleep on an air mattress while they try to find our stuff?
By the way, they are Monday thru Friday 9 to 5 — so don’t even think about having a problem with a weekend move — you can only leave a message!
Letter to the CEO was useless — he just sent it on to customer service who had offered the air mattress. So the end result is we lost about $ 15 000 worth of stuff, we are still sleeping on an air mattress and they are going to give us 60 cents a pound — probably about $ 500.

This is the best moving company! I would highly recommend giving them a try. We recently moved our office and they did an AWESOME job, no bumps, scratches, no damage to our items or the building. Very fast and promptly showed up at the time stated. No computer flat screens or TVs were damaged during the move. I would use Daryl and his crew anytime we needed to relocate!
