After over 20 years as an Auto Tech and a Service Manager, Sal Gonzalez opened Imperial Auto Service in 1990.

I have taken my dodge pick up truck to this shop multiple times. Every time I have had great service. If they find something else besides the job they are working on they will call and inform you and ask before working on it. They have always been honest with me. Much better prices then most other places out in town as well. Last time I brought my truck to them they messed up and I didn’t notice it until I got home. I brought it back and they did the job over again right at no charge. Best shop in town in my opinion.

I went here for engine swap on my truck. After the job was completed I had a small vibration in clutch pedal anytime the pedal was pressed. About 3 months later my clutch completely failed. I brought the truck back and we removed the transmission and the clutch. It turns out that when the engine install was done they lost one of the bolts for the pressure plate on the clutch and decided to install a wrong diameter, length, and thread pitch bolt, in the pressure plate. I asked the owner Sal for some kind of a refund he said he is broke and told me he is in the process of filing bankruptcy. I filed small claims and won by default since he did not show. He still will not pay me for the damages. If you don’t believe me look up the better business bureau, they have a F rating currently. You may not want to go to this shop.

A friend recommended I take my car to these guys to have a look at a loud constant squeaking noise I thought was a power steering problem or worse. It always helps to know someone or get a recommendation and after my experience at Imperial Auto I wanted to return the favor.
They were professional from the start. They quickly diagnosed the noise as a bent tension pulley which turned out to be a very inexpensive fix and they were able to order the part same day and take care of it.
My car’s fixed, no more noise, and I was pleasantly surprised when I paid for the repair. It’s a relief to have some honest ‘go to’ guys if I have troubles with one of our cars. Thanks again!

Ok it’s never a good day when your car is on the frits and you have to take it to a shop I had some vary bad experiences with mechanic shops Until my friend told me about Imperial Car Care Center .
Sal SR great Guy The Owner Of The Shop, Sal Jr The person running the show both great people Family owned who know there stuff.
Great experience will for sure come back here and will tell all my friends and family about these guys not only do they know what there doing they go over and beyond.

After moving from Orange County to San Diego I had find a good auto repair shop for my 1999 4Runner. This place does an incredible job and has great prices. Do not be afraid of the location. The mechanics provide quality work and the owner, Sal, is friendly and easy to talk too.

My car broke down and a friend recommended I take it here.
The shop managers Sal and Junior are the best.
Even though I wasn’t happy that my car broke down I was happy that Junior explained to me all of the options for fixing my car.
Junior gave me a reasonable price for new parts but mentioned he was also willing to try and track down used parts for me from local junkyards and/​or eBay… my car is older so I went with the used parts and he saved me over $ 300 versus the new parts price!
Car is running great now. I highly recommend this place.
