I-Conic Optometry

After learning my insurance didn’t cover the $ 165 exam, $ 150+ contact fitting, etc at another eye dr, I came across I-​Conic and am so glad I did! The doctor was available right away to see me. She was friendly, knowledgeable and fast! I got the exam and went home with 4 pairs of contacts + new glasses for less than what the other place would’ve charged just for the exam/​fitting. I highly recommend them for fast and friendly service!

I moved to San Diego 6 years ago and needed a new eye Dr. After searching for weeks for the right place, I saw I-​Conic had amazing ratings on Unilocal And for ever reason so!!! Dr Le is amazing and so nice as well as respectful! She’s very honest while always keeping it professional. I needed glasses and contacts and she was able to make my glasses within a 15 – 20 minute Period! Shes great! She’s very hip and stylish and definitely helpful :-) I would recommend this place to anyone!

This is a great place. Dr. Le is very knowledgable, takes the time to explain everything to you and is very friendly. Her assistant Tiffany is awesome. She helped me pick out my glasses and was very honest about which glasses looked good and which didn’t so I know I will look good in them when I wear them. It is a very friendly and relaxed office. Definitely recommend it to everyone!

I used to go to Lenscrafters but when my insurance switched over to a different provider I had to find a new place to get my glasses and contact lenses. I’m so glad I switched because I found Dr. Lee’s office at I-​conic to be more personable, fast, friendly, and of course professional. Her assistant is also delight! I’ve been going to I-​conic for about 2 or 3 years now and know I’ll be coming back to renew my glasses prescription and refill my contact lenses whenever I need them.

Before coming here I’ve been jumping from optometry to optometry because I just couldn’t find a place I felt comfortable at. That was about 3 years ago, then I found this place. Dr. Le made me feel like not just a client but a friend and was always helpful with everything I needed saving me from hopping around different businesses. Even when she is not around, Tiffany is there to make us feel welcome, help me out and bring a smile to my face. I have introduced them to my coworkers and I’m happy they feel the same way. If you have any eye needs I strongly suggest you give them a visit!

I bought a pair of glasses from Walmart and brought them here. the service was outstanding they had my glasses done in 20 minutes while I sat on a comfy couch waiting. They helped me choose the best lens for my frames. 5 out of 5! I recommend them to anyone

My family gets their optical care at I-​Conic. Dr. Le is professional and her staff is kind and very helpful. Great selection of modern frames and accessories. Also, quick turn-​around time for glasses and contacts. Sometimes same-​day service!

Dr. Le was wonderful. She was flying solo and managed to juggle me as a walk in with a smile and great customer service. I will highly recommend I-​Conic to my friends and family!

A friend recommended dr. Le and let me tell you it was a good experience. My husband went with her two days later after my visit and will definitely keep coming back :)

Dr. Le was very helpful, kind, and patient during my exam and frame selection. When I found the one that I liked, she made my glasses right away on sight. The receptionist was very friendly when I called to schedule my same day appointment. Dr. Le was thorough and efficient during the exam. I will for sure come back and will send my family and friends to I-​conic Optometry.

I called on a Friday afternoon, not expecting to be able to get an appointment until the following week. Dr. Le answered the phone and was able to get me in that same day!
I felt that Dr. Le was quick, but still thorough and within 40 minutes I was out the door with a 6 month supply of contacts and a new pair of glasses.
I’m horrible with making regular appointments for things like the dentist and optometrist, but with how easy my first visit was and how nice Dr. Le is, I know I’ll be able to get a quick appointment and should be able to keep up with my regular exams.

I waited all week for an apology from the owner but nothing.
So this place is still unprofessional and not recommended!
The good news is I was able to get a last minute appointment and get my eye exam and glasses paid for before my benefit ran out.
The GREAT news is that even though one benefit ended through Guardian a new benefit started through Met Life! So now that I used the $ 120 credit towards glasses through Guardian and my annual eye exam credit I can now schedule an appointment for contacts or a 2^nd pair of glasses with a credit of $ 130… or prescription SUNglasses hmm… I AM in San Diego where it’s always sunny!
So unfortunately this place lost business TWICE as a result of their incompetence! :(

Dr. Le is great! She does her own grinding on-​site (hardly anyone other than LensCrafters seems to do this, but they don’t take my insurance plan) and my glasses had broken at the bridge. That meant I needed glasses NOW, rather than after walking around with tape holding them together for 2 weeks, like I would have if I’d gone to a place that outsources the grinding.
My hat is off to my vision plan, who called around for me to find a place that does their own grinding. VSP rocks!
Not only was she able to do that for me because she does her own grinding, she also has a really good selection of frames, something about which I’m picky. Only titanium frames need apply. If you’ve ever had a pair, you know why. If you haven’, you really need to try them. Since I got my first titanium frames in the late nineties, I’ve accepted nothing else. They’re so light, strong, and flexible (so why did my old ones break? Young children: p)
Next time I need glasses, I’ll definitely be getting them here.
Why only four stars, then? Because my optometrist wrote both of my prescriptions (distance and workstation) on the form, and I told the receptionist I needed the distance prescription ground, and double-​confirmed it. However, by the time she made the trip from the desk to the backroom, she’d flipped it around in her head and told Dr. Le to grind the workstation prescription. So, I had to wait again while she ground a new set of lenses.
Bottom line: definitely go to I-​Conic, but if you have multiple prescriptions, triple-​check they’re grinding the right one. Tell Dr. Le yourself, if possible.

Came in to try and get my daughter some glasses but they were closed on a Thursday at 10am. I guess another place will get my business.

I am so impressed with the service I got today. Dr. Le was ready for me when I walked in, did a full exam including contacts, and is currently cutting my lenses for my new glasses. She gave me 20% off my frame after my insurance was used which helped me to be able to get anti scratch and glare. Very happy with the service and will be back. Recommend this to anyone looking and will be referring out.

My friend recommended me to Dr. Le when I needed to find an optometrist in SD. She’s very friendly and thorough. Plus, worked with me on my insurance and what I had to pay out of pocket.
The location of her office is convenient too. I can go get my eyes checked and then go shopping after. Score!

They took me in on an emergency, last-​minute, appointment.
Dr. Le was friendly, personable, quick — yet thorough, and generous.
The cost is very good in comparison to some other Optometrists. I used to go to the same Optometrist for years but then I felt I was being taken for granted when they didn’t reply to a package I had left them. So I went to another Optometrist and they didn’t feel 100% right. But I think I’ll be returning to Dr. Le for my annual exam next year :)

There is a decent range of name brand and not so name brand frames in the shop. Consider buying your own frames separately to save money. Be careful of the shop cutting the lenses in-​house as there may be small gaps between the lenses and frames. I had some small gaps but they were small and did not effect the functionality of my glasses. If I go back I will definitely buy frames elsewhere.
The doctor is friendly and approachable. She is good about answering questions. Her front staff doesn’t seem too interested in her work and wasn’t very helpful..

I found this place cuz it was an in-​network doctor for my vision insurance. I was able to get a Saturday appointment which was good. I like flexibility with office hours. Dr. Le saw me personally (and also did all the prescreening herself). She says she likes to have time to talk to her patients. I came in not able to spend much, but came out with a nice pair of glasses at a very reasonable price! I’m a happy camper! A few dings though (and I understand this is their new location — they have one in Escondido):
1. Dr. Le said I had ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision still (I had lasik done in 2008)…but it’s not a sharp ²⁰⁄₂₀. I thought ²⁰⁄₂₀ is ²⁰⁄₂₀? There’s a sharp and unsharp ²⁰⁄₂₀???
2. I had requested AR coating (anti-​reflective) on my lenses. From my understanding AR = when you wear on your glasses you can see my eyes through the lenses clearly — -with no glare. The lens look almost non-​existent. I later talked to Dr. Le and she told me the AR coating I got was «standard» (which eliminates glare at night) and the one that I wanted with no glare look is «premium.” – which coats both sides of the lenses. Wish I knew this from the beginning.
3. When picking out my glasses, I had no suggestions, no recommendations, no help. Good thing I already knew what kind of frames I wanted. The front office girl seems like she’s in training so I can’t be too picky. When selecting «add-​on» services such as lens coating… I wasn’t informed of the different options I had and the differences between them. That could have avoided the #2 issue (above).
4. My lenses weren’t «buffed» around the edges so you can see the white line that it creates (boundary) around the inside of my frame. Not sure if the «buffing» would be an extra «add-​on» or not. :-/​
Besides wishing I was better informed, I liked my experience with Dr. Le. I may give this place another try.
Oh, I liked how I can get my glasses the same day! 1-​hour service!
