I had a great experience with Kris recently at Hyde-​Edwards! She was a referral from the owner, and very impressive. Not only is she talented with cut/​color, but she has a great personality and is a blast to converse with. Now, when your appointments are 2 – 3 hours long, that is a HUGE bonus. Kris is very artistic which was evident in the beautiful curls she meticulously created to finish my style. Highly recommend!

The best! Was in town for work and needed a cut/​color. They worked me in the same day and Treigh was amazing :) I walked out feeling like a whole new person! The entire team was friendly and very welcoming. Locals you should definitely go here!

Just had my first cut, and am very pleased to say I will definitely be back. They have a lot of experience with both men and women’s hair, and actually work with you to get you what you’re looking for! Very comfortable environment, welcoming, relaxed, free coffee and tea. Treigh took very good care of me as well as everybody at the front. Highly recommended!

Ben. Great cuts. Great color. Used him for years. I’ve recommended to my best friends. I loved the salon, from the wine and chocolate greeting, to the amazing shampoos, to the cuddly puppy wandering the shop — it was my monthly oasis. Then…
About 18 months ago there was a business model change. I’d make an appointment with Ben and I’d get one of his many assistants. First it was just to apply the color Ben mixed, then the time increased and increased. Toward the end I saw Ben for 3 minutes (I timed it) out of the entire 1 ½ hours. The rest of the time was with an assistant I neither knew nor asked for. The color suffered. Light brown became dark brown. Dark brown became nearly black. When I said I had booked with Ben, and not these other people, the service which had been warm and wonderful became unfriendly and pretentious. BTW, I was still paying «Ben» prices when I was seeing the helpers. I didn’t dare let these strangers cut my hair, so I can’t opine there.
The helpers must not be making much money because the upselling was intolerable. A cut, color and brow wax was insufficient. I had to listen to a sales pitch for every conceivable product in the store for the entire time this stranger dyed my hair the wrong color. Gentle «I’m really not interested» responses only served as a challenge, not a deterrent.
If I could get «old Ben» (a five star experience if ever there was one) back, I would return in a heartbeat. The cost cutting/​upselling version — no thanks. Sorry Ben, I do miss you.

I have been meaning to go to Hyde Edwards for a while because I’ve heard how great they are. I went on a Monday and I made my appointment with Kris Santos because I had read some of her great reviews. She is such a doll and she listened to exactly what I wanted and delivered huge! I got a cut and color and my hair looks and feels ahhmazing! Love it! Kris give me some samples and H-​E and you receive extra goodies on your next visit, like a brow wax and 10% off your retail purchase. Plus, if you check in you get $ 20 off your first visit. Highly recommend Kris, you can tell she loves what she does. She’s a bit of a perfectionist as well. :) The only negative is parking, you’ll have to pay for street parking and it’s only good for 2 hours. Thank you Hyde– Edwards!

I’ve seen Jessica Burgio for cuts & highlights for years and she is just the best! She’s so great at giving you exactly what you ask for but also giving helpful and creative suggestions if you’re not sure what you want. She is also in badass shape so if you need workout tips ask her! :)

I’ve been going to Hyde Edwards for several years, so, when it came time to book stylists and estheticians for our wedding, the choice was easy.
I see Christina regularly for my eyebrows; she truly does the best brow shaping in town. I see Rene for my hair and she always does a fantastic job; my hair is so much healthier because of her. Both Renee and Christina have great beauty tips and are incredibly knowledgable.
Before the wedding, Bryce set up all of my appointments in one phone call. He made the process very easy.
On the day of our wedding, Rene and Christina worked with me as well as my bridesmaids to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it to look. My hair stayed frizz-​free and sleek for the entire night and my makeup still looked fresh out of the salon even after midnight!

For a crazy pop of color and a mod haircut see Cat Thompson! She does some amazing, vivid colors.
They allow dogs so I bring my pup and the girls at the front desk will walk her and play with her while I get shampooed.

I am completely and absolutely blown away right now!
Background: I just moved to San Diego from Seattle about two months ago. I had been going to the same stylist up there for the last 10 years and had been fully foiling my light brown/​dark blonde hair to platinum for the past 6 years. I got tired of that and decided I wanted a fun change. I saw a rose gold/​dusty pink color and immediately knew I would love to have it. In order to get there, my stylist did one round of a light bleach/​tone in my hair and then applied pink. Long story short, once that pink/​rose was out of my hair I didn’t like the fact that my platinum was SO white and contrasted to my naturally dark brown eyebrows (thanks German genes!). I wanted to go back to my previous, more natural color, but he told me to give it a little while.
I waited about 3 months before asking to go back to my sandy/​light beige blonde. My old stylist refused, and now I can see that this was because it was a four step process, and as he consistently double booked my appointments he wanted to avoid doing this to save time. Instead of toning my hair all over, he banded my darker roots and left me with brassy sections. It was a nightmare and I asked him to fix it by foiling over it, but as it grew out it looked too harsh on me.
Mosie is an absolute magician. She spent an incredible amount of time listening to my concerns during my consultation. I listed out all of my haircare in the last few months to her, and described my nightmare above. She was so incredibly sweet and understanding, even as I was nervous about the coloring she was using. As a platinum blonde it is so hard to think that your hair will suddenly be *brown*, but she seriously talked me off the ledge and made me so comfortable.
In total, we had four steps:
1. Foiling my regrowth
2. Painting my natural base in between the regrowth over the brassy band my old stylist had created and blending it naturally
3. Adding a few lowlights for contrast
4. Toning my platinum to the beautiful sandy color I so badly wanted back.
Mosie completely exceeded my expectations. When she dried my hair I literally felt like crying. She spent such a considerable amount of time going through each step of the way with me and completely made me feel at ease about the end result. I know I was a nervous wreck throughout this process and Mosie was such a great sport. I never knew switching hair stylists would make me feel this happy, and I am so glad I found her!

What an amazing experience. I called this morning to schedule an appointment with the first available stylist. I got Kelly who gave me the best haircut of my life. She helped me think through the hair issues I was having and came up with a plan to grow into a new style.
The salon is located in a historic macaroni factory with the original wood floors. Did I mention free drinks and coffee. At $ 45 it was more than I usually spend, but it was definitely worth it.

I have seen the same stylist for 4 years and she recently moved to LA. I have bounced around salons in the last few months to try and find someone who I enjoyed getting my hair done by and did a good job, which seemed impossible. Yesterday I saw junior stylist, Rikki, and I am so happy with my service and hair! My cut and color are exactly what I wanted.
Parking was easy on a Tuesday night. The salon is beautiful and unique. The products are high quality. The staff is friendly and generous with their beverages :)
Rikki gave me a great cut and color. Don’t let the title «junior» make you nervous! My treatment took a little longer than I am used to, but the quality was no less than the master I used to see.

Love this place and my hairstylist, Kris Santos! I have been a good client of hers since 2011. I’ve recommended her to all my friends and they have loved her as much as me and now they are her loyal clients too. Have fun getting gorgeous!!!

J’ai passé mon après midi là bas avec Cat qui a tout de suite compris ce que j’attendais d’elle.
