Am I the only person who misses when they used to have a popcorn machine? Sigh. But the customer service here is great– the staff is very knowledgable, and there’s always someone at the door to greet you and help you find what you’re looking for. It’s not the biggest hardware store but they do have a decent selection, and you can also place orders for an item they don’t have in stock.

I adore this neighborhood hardware store! Great gift ideas in the home wear department and very friendly staff! You can hardly get by the front door before someone is walking over to she what help you need! Love running errands there!

What a great store! Clean, organized, brightly lit, well stocked — and the customer service here is unsurpassed. I came in with an electrical thingamajig that needed replacing. Big shout out to BILLY who came to my rescue! He was willing to assemble a new gizmo by hand, using separate parts, but fortunately he found exactly what I was looking for on the shelf. He patiently walked with me down the aisles offering wisdom and advice on my project. You can’t get individualized attention like that from the big box hardware giants. I’m a fan of «neighborhood hardware stores» and this one is as good as it gets.

Ace Hardware always has what I need. The store seems fairly small but it is amazing how they always have whatever I’m looking for. The staff are extremely helpful and have saved me several visits from service repairman by their knowledge. Well worth the extra few bucks over Home Depot

After the owner contacted me, I was able to exchange my unopened items. I really appreciate the understanding and am happy to continue shopping at my local ace.

Although this places prices are substantially higher than Home Depot or Lowe’s it’s understandable that they don’t have the purchasing power that Home Depot and Lowes therefore they are obviously going to have to pay more for something such as a 2×4 but considering the convenience of being able to run in and get back to work in a couple minutes rather than drive all the way across town is nice and typically it’s easier to find a specialty items such as a plumbing part or a valve the employees in the departments are extremely knowledgeable versus the employees at Home Depot saying oh I don’t know why don’t you call the contractor are giving you the wrong information. i’m an actual licensed general contractor in the state of California and have witnessed personally several times employees at Home Depot or Lowe’s trying to tell a homeowner how to do something incorrectly on several occasions I’ve witnessed employees at this Ace Hardware in 4S Ranch giving homeowners information and have given them praise for being correct in their suggestion to customers.

Always helpful and friendly. I can be in a rush and they will have me out of there quickly. I had a problem with an LED light that I no longer had a receipt for. They replaced it with no cost to me. So happy to have them in my neighborhood. An unknown FYI, they also have a sharpening service outside the store on certain days.

Very helpful staff, someone always greets you and directs you to the department you need to go to! This is a great store for household needs or even to get a gift for a baby or bridal shower or someone’s bday. Also, free popcorn.

Every time I hit this store, the staff is asking what they can help me with. The price point on most items is fair, not the cheapest, not the most expensive. But the biggest benefit is the convenience!

I love this place. The staff is always eager to help you find what you need and direct you to the right place. They will also refer you to another store if they don’t have what you need.

I really like Ace a lot. It’s a lot smaller than a Lowes or Home Depot, but there are things that Ace has that neither of them have. I really love their cleaning supply section as they have a ton of great stuff. It’s very convenient in regards to its location. I love all the gifty things at the front right side of the store.
The plant section leaves a lot to be desired, so I always go other places for plants, pots, soil, tools, etc. Sometimes I cannot find what I’m looking for because it’s such a small store, but in general, I can always find something to help me with my projects.
My kid is always happy to get a bag of popcorn at Ace which makes the shopping experience that much more fun. ;-)

The best Ace store I have been so far. Not only they welcome the customers with coffee and pastries from Panera bread (complimentary), they have also a ver attentive customer service and the store is very spacious, clean and has my favorite section of trinkets, jewelry, nice soaps, and other small good looking goodies. We did not find a certain wire to make a crafts project but the associate recommended us to go to another different store in Escondido, not their own chain, where we surely could find what we needed. I think that is great customer service.

Best experience EVER in a hardware store. Went in for a specific tool, Gal behind the register halfway across the store immediately addressed me and told me what area of the store to head to. When I got there, another guy, who already knew what tool I needed, walked me directly to it and have me recommendations. In and out in under 2 minutes with what I wanted. Awesome!

Tools, hardware, plants, gifts, cards, baby clothes, and hard to find fasteners… this place has it all. The employees are very knowledgeable unlike the big orange or blue mega home improvement stores, which have their place for larger/​bulk purchases.
Of course pricing is slightly higher than the large chains but if you value knowledgeable assistance, shopping Griffin Ace Hardware is absolutely worth it.

I really enjoy going to this hardware store versus your bigger home improvement stores. The prices are very comparable, they’re always well stocked, the staff is always very friendly and helpful, and the store is kept clean. They also have a home décor section that is always nicely displayed and inviting. At the registers, they have a lot of odds and ends items for sale. For example, we got a bendable neck lamp that wraps around your neck like a short scarf. The lights are at each end. It’s perfect for walking the dog at night.

This is a really nice hardware store without the intimidating vastness of Home Depot and very customer friendly. The prices are great as well.
I like the return policy which is if you don’t like it you can return it no questions asked.
I also like the loyalty club which actually gives pretty good discounts if you shop there regularly vs many other places that just collect data to feed it to the borg.

There used to be an Ace closer to where I live and now this location is the closest and probably most convenient.
When you don’t want to fight the crowds of the larger home improvement stores, Ace is a great place to get the one off items. Granted, their selection isn’t as large as other places but more times than not, they will have what you’re looking for.
The staff here is much friendlier than the location that was closer to my house and much more knowledgeable.
Pricing tends to be a little higher but sometimes paying for the convenience sake is worth it.
The store itself is clean and located in the 4S Commons shopping center. Parking for this location is very easy.

This is the only hardware store in the area. Where else can I get nails or shelving. What I find odd about this place is that there are kitchen items, like brownie pans and mixing utensils. That seems weird to me.
I had a good experience here. They treat you kindly and ask you what you are looking for right when you enter. They then either tell you where it is or bring in extra help to assist you in your needs. I was looking for some shelves and I was told aisle 10. Then someone came over and gave some very good advise. Bought a shelf right then and there.
Hey, it’s sorta far from 4S to the nearest Home Depot or Lowe’s, so this store does just the trick when I’m in need for something right away.
