Erica is a magician! I tried dying my hair with a box dye to match some clip in extensions I had bought for a wedding. Needless to say, but they didn’t match. I went to Erica for help after reading her Unilocal reviews and I’m soo glad I did. My hair is perfect now. Thank you Erica !!!

I came to see Erica after busying a deal on the Goods and was a little scared to go somewhere new (but reassured by her 5 star Unilocal review) — amazing! I will absolutely be back, no question at all. Loved her and loved my hair (Brazilian, trim, highlights). My husband told me — I like new wife!

I wish Unilocal had more than 5 stars because Erica deserves it! Best stylist in San Diego! Did a wonderful job styling my hair from long (mid back) to a pixie cut. I trust her with my hair since then.

Erica is life changing. (No joke) Not only does she understand what a woman wants hair wise, she is so cool to just hang out with and talk to! I have long, thick, blonde hair and it needs a lot of maintenence. She makes sure I look like a movie star by the time I leave the salon. If you want to feel sexy, happy, and ready to flaunt what you got… go to Erica! I swear by her!!!

Calling Erica a stylist, colorist, etc, doesn’t fully describe all of her hair styling glory. I like to think of her as more of a Matron Saint of Hair.
Flash back to a little over a year ago (August 2013): I had been living in Northern California for the past three years when I received a job offer I just couldn’t walk away from. I packed up the things I couldn’t leave behind, threw everything else in storage and in less than 8 hours, was once again, a San Diegan.
I called my hair stylist in San Rafael to find out when he would be relocating to San Diego to take care of my tresses and quarterly Brazilian blowout, and was quite distraught upon finding out that he would not be moving to San Diego to keep my locks in tip top shape. I cried for a few days before springing into action, Unilocaling stylists and reaching out to old friends and colleagues to find out who they considered their right hand man (or woman) for all things hair.
Fast forward to October 2013, I had a date, desperately needed a Brazilian blowout and scheduled an appointment with Erica on a recommendation from an old friend. 2 hours later, a couple of glasses of wines, great laughs and a flawless blowout, I was a happy camper! Erica did an amazing job with the blowout, and is my go to gal for all things hair to this day.
Oct 2014: After 4 years of blowouts, and a Vegas trip in the works, I was starting to tire of my «boring» Brazilian locks. I reached out to Erica and we toyed with the idea of adding color to my hair through highlights. I sent over a few pics, as well as explained what I visualized. It had been years since I had colored my hair and I knew I wanted something but it had to be subtle. After experiencing a mini crisis and doubt before my appointment, I texted Erica to relay my thoughts and she made me feel better about the whole thing. We decided on going with a balayage, which would lighten my hair, adding color and framing my face. I left my appointment absolutely ecstatic and ready for more color! The amount of compliments I get on my color/​blowout is absolutely ridiculous and Erica has never failed to get me in before major events and travel, even with my sketchy schedule. Even my mother, who does not hand out compliments lightly, loved my color and asked for a referral.
Note: I have not referred my mother, want to keep Erica’s sweet hair styling skills all to myself and write this review at the risk that she may become so popular, I will have to camp outside of the salon to beg her to do my hair, which I will gladly do.

I’ve been going to Erica for over three years now. She does excellent color work and I love my hair cut every time. She also does amazing up do’s for special events and even weddings. I highly recommend her!

A true color genius! I trust Erica 100% with giving me exactly the right cut and color for my hair; it is the best feeling in the world when you can just say «I trust you, do what you will with me!» Not only does Erica provide your hair with the highest quality treatment that she can, she understands the art of customer service which in my personal experience has been sub par at times within this industry. Erica is amazing! As you can probably tell from the rest of the reviews, she easily earns the loyalty of her customers. It’s tough to trust someone with your hair (especially if you’re like me and your hair need a lot of help), but you can definitely trust Erica. I have been seeing Erica for Brazilian Blowouts and trims for about a year, after trying a few other locations in the city. She also has the elusive skill of trimming JUST the right amount to get rid of your split ends (rather than the much-​feared «let’s just take two inches off» when you just need to get rid of frays). Erica does the best Brazilian blowout! Before I moved to SD, I went to a salon in the Bay Area to get my hair straightened and my old stylist used a product that I couldn’t wash out for 3 days. By day 2 I was a hot mess! Erica does an amazing job and the product just needs to be in your hair over night. The Brazilian lasts about 3 or 4 months and saves me tons of time in the morning. A Brazilian blowout with Erica is a must!

Erica is amazing! I am very particular about my hair, I normally go up to LA because I have a stylist up there however, I didn’t have time to go that far. I was so nervous to have someone different do my hair but, she did such a great job! She listened to what I wanted and did exactly that. My blonde has never looked so bright and perfect. She cut my hair beautifully and did not take off too much. My hair has never looked so good, and she did it in half the time it usually takes. I am a client for life and would recommend her to everyone!

I think I have finally found the one person I can finally trust to do my hair! After a horrible hair-​mare years ago, I have been reluctant to do anything to my mane. I was ready to go blonde again, and I asked one of my co-​workers who did her hair. She gave me Erica’s number, and I am never going to any one else again. Not only did she listen to what I wanted, she was creative and honest in coming up with something that was even better than I dreamed. To be honest, she enabled me to see the possibilities I couldn’t see on my self! She’s personable, down to earth, and the only person I will trust to do my hair from now on. I was complimented by so many people today when I arrived with a complete transformation at work! I am so glad I was introduced to her, and will share her with the rest of the world only because everyone deserves fabulous hair!

Erica is the best at what she does, she can turn a toad like me into a prince all in one session. Not only is she phenom with women’s hair but has as large a following of handsome men coming in for great cuts and styles. Besides the comfortable salon you get a true professional who has mastered her art and does amazing color and cuts. My niece also goes there and she always looks stunning after seeing Erica. It must be said that Erica is skilled, great with people, and a true Superwoman of style so if you want to deflect bullets with your hot hair, get some beatnik style and color, hipster it out or just get some classic «I’m too hot for words» then you need to see Erica.

Ok, can we please talk about Erica at this salon? She is literally the BEST hair colorist and cutter and stylist I have ever gone to and I have been to a lot in this and other big cities.
I found out about her from a friend who recommended her. My hair needed major color correcting and she was completely honest about what we might and might not be able to accomplish. She is patient and has such a good eye for face shapes and what is going to look good as far as a cut and color. She is a clear and skillful communicator and does what she says she is going to do. Haven’t you been places where you come out with the opposite of what you asked for? This will not happen with Erica. I trust her now and won’t go to anyone else.
It is easy to get an appointment with her and she is upbeat, positive, friendly and funny. She will talk as much or as little as you prefer, which is another big plus.

This review is long over due! I originally come in July for a color correction. I used a box coloring and had blonde patches everywhere! Erica corrected my hair color to a nice brown/​red mix and flat ironed it. I came back again in October to get highlights and I absolutely love them! I will be back again to get them touched up! Erica did a great job with my hair and she is very personable! I left the hair salon feeling like a runway model! I am from NYC and so I’m used to the Dominican ladies knowing what to do with my hair and I was very disappointed when I first came to San Diego to find that nobody knew how to handle my curls. I’m so glad that I came across Erica because she truly knows what she is doing and how to handle my hair! Thanks Erica!

I was referred to Erica by Jessica from Gorjess Pro. After seeing how great Jessica’s hair looked, I was certain I had to make an appointment with her. I wanted a natural fall season balayage. I had a basic idea of what I wanted, but didn’t have a clear vision. Erica was extremely helpful with making suggestions and giving me different options. She worked on my hair with precision and focus. I can tell she’s passionate about her work. My hair turned out beautiful and natural, just what I wanted. Then she finished my hair with voluminous curls, accentuating the well-​placed highlights. I left the salon a satisfied customer!
Plus, she is hilarious! Twos hours goes by so fast when you’re joking and laughing.

I walked into Erica’s last salon after moving to SD about a year ago. She was available and did a great job cutting my hair. I have been in for a trim every month since and she has done great work. She suggested a new hair product that I love and has given me excellent styling tips. When Erica moved to Jean Claude I was more than happy to follow her.
Aside from giving a great haircut, Erica is a lot of fun to talk to and always makes getting a haircut a really fun experience. I’ve had awkward haircuts in the past but Erica is always excited and ready to go!

Erica is as good as it gets! For the past few years, I have been without a consistent stylist and I have finally found my girl. Erica is highly professional and will cut/​style/​color your hair to what fits you as a person. She never tries to push a style or change, but rather helps you unlock what will be the best look for you.
I met Erica at her last salon and have followed her to Jean Claude Salon (which could not be more chic and adorable). She never overcharges, over-​talks or oversteps her boundaries. She is a trusted stylist, cool chick and comes very highly recommended.
