Duffy of San Diego

We were visiting from Connecticut and had a GREAT time on our Duffy boat rental! The man in charge of the rental was extremely helpful with getting us on the boat and directing the designated ‘captains’ in how to operate the boat. We would highly recommend that people hire a Duffy boat. Suggest that you use Groupon for their special rates!

What an amazing experience. Devin was our captain and he made us feel so at home and comfortable. My girlfriend is a bit afraid of water but he, and a few glasses of wine, made her so at home. She is excited to bring friends on the tour the next time we visit. Thank you Devin.

We went on a sunset cruise this past Sunday, and everything was great! Devin was our captain, and he was very friendly and knowledgable about local hotspots. We had the whole boat to ourselves, the weather was beautiful, and the wine and meat and cheese platter were tasty (when are those things ever not good?). Overall, the experience was perfect and I definitely want to do it again! The reservation process was also very simple and Billy was very accommodating considering I made the booking just a couple days before. My only complaint is that the cruise didn’t last longer! I definitely recommend doing this cruise if you have the opportunity to!

Husband and I did the wine and cheese sunset cruise with Duffy over the Thanksgiving weekend (I’m a little late posting!). Devin was our captain, and he was friendly, chatting with us but also giving us quiet time to enjoy the views. The wine was good and the cheese plate pretty great (there was nothing left at the end of the cruise.) We booked using a 3^rd party discount place (not Groupon, some other whose name I can’t recall). So while it made it a teensy bit confusing, when I called to ask about booking a specific cruise, we got tons of help from Duffy and it all went off without a hitch. So we got a great deal and it was, by far, the highlight of our weekend getaway in San Diego. I would not hesitate to do this again with friends or family next time we visit SD.

What an amazing experience! From the condition of the boats (which is pristine), to the artisanal cheese plate, and the music choice while out on the sunset cruise, the entire evening was incredible! If you are looking for THE best in a Duffy Boat experience, look no further! Captain Billy & Kathy were gracious and funny and even had several types of life vests to choose from for our youngest boater (8 months old). We enjoyed ourselves tremendously and will book again! Thank you Duffy Boat of San Diego you rock! We’ll be back again! 5 stars for certain!

Highly recommended. Great all around experience for couples and groups. Boats are brand new and are super easy to drive. Beautiful views and make for a great outing or date. Staff was very knowledgeable and helpful.

So much fun, I rented an electric boat for my boyfriends birthday and it was a blast. I brought some snacks and a few drinks and we drove around the harbor. It was so great. I would defiantly do it again. However, I would bring a sweater or jacket because it gets cold on the water. There was 6 of us and there was plenty of room for more people. I also wanted to give a shout out to the amazing crew (cant remember there names unfortunately :/​) But they were very nice and helpful.

Went on the sunset wine cruise to celebrate my birthday. It was very relaxing. The only drawback was that they were about 15 minutes late, however, they kept us out an extra 15 minutes. I would definitely recommend this company.

Yes, just yes. Go.
Bring your own food and drinks, remember the plates, forks, cups, napkins, hurricane candles or fake ones, playing cards, music selection on your phone to plug into duffy’s speaker system, light jacket if it might get chilly, people you love, and anything else to help decorate for your celebration. We captained our own boat, as we are natives and don’t need the San Diego narrative, in addition to wanting privacy for our family. Either way, it’s something we will do many more times.

All I have to say is WOW! What an amazing experience with Duffy Boats from start to finish.
I searched for something fun and different to do for my boyfriend’s birthday, and I am so thankful I came across this.
Decided to do an evening boat ride and Billy was such a great help. Had decided on a certain evening, then had to reschedule due to my conflicting work schedule. Billy was very accommodating and was aw to reschedule without any hassle.
The only probes we had was that we should have done a three hour! It was so awesome, never wanted it to end!
Thanks Duffy, you guys have definitely earned your solid five stars!

This was totally fun! We rented an electric powered boat for 2 hours to your the bay and it was great! I highly recommend it if your wanting to relax, bring a cooler and people watch.
You get a Unilocal discount too to use and the staff is very friendly. It’s a little difficult to find unless you have your GPS guiding you but totally worth seeking out.

What an incredible experience at Duffy of San Diego! It was the most perfect day trip. We got there after brunch and were greeted by the owner who gave my husband a 15 minute lesson on how to drive the Duffy. We brought a few drinks, our tunes (that conveniently hook into an aux cord on the boat!) and had 90 minutes of beautiful views on the water. We even saw DOLPHINS! It was a beautiful day. It was a special adventure for my younger siblings (6&9) and so relaxing for the adults. I recommend it for all ages! The only con is it’s hard to find. I would recommend a sign on the main road. We had to call to find the dock.

Der Ausflug mit dem Boot war sehr schön. Wir haben die gesamte Bucht in Ruhe genießen können. Dazu noch ein guter Wein und ein paar Snacks. Das war wunderbar. Vielen Dank an die Durchführung, sowie an den Captain der sehr freundlich und unterhaltsam war.

Got an amazing Groupon deal for this trip for my mom’s birthday, there was a total of 6 of us, and we felt like royally, like VIP, like the ‘ish, i think you get my drift.
Each couple got to choose a bottle of wine or champagne, and a cheese plate with fruit or meat. Needless to say we were all quite pleasantly tipsy on the ride since we hadn’t had anything to eat yet, oh but wait, we have crackers and cheese and hummus and fruits and meats!!!
The captain was super nice the whole time, really chill but informative, didn’t try to be overly chatty but was engaging at the same time, which is awesome. Sadly he did have to watch us try to take panoramic selfies 20 times, we tipped him well though for his sufferings.
The boat ride itself is 90 minutes, and it took us around the mission bay area, past Sea World, past Fiesta Island, it was really nice, and luckily the weather was amazing! Overall I would definitely recommend, they were so accommodating and it was really easy to get everything set up. bombdotcom seal approved!

Got an incredible deal on Groupon (~$ 100 for 2 people on a chartered duffy boat including your choice of a meat cheese/​meat fruit plate and wine)!
It was an incredibly lovely day to take a quick trip on the Duffy Boat! Finding the place can be a bit tricky so make sure you put the address 1548 Quivira WAY. Once you park, you can walk down to the pier area and you’ll see signs for a couple different businesses including Duffy.
We checked in, got the key from them to go to the bathroom before we set sail (it’s back towards the Adventures building), took a bunch of pictures, and then we were off!
Our captain was Devin (sorry for spelling) and he was a great host, offering to take pictures and gave us some insight/​history of the surrounding areas and most importantly didn’t judge when we were retaking selfies!
We were celebrating my mom’s birthday so our duffy boat was just our group (6 people total) so it was nice and private and most importantly, didn’t have to share our plates/​wine! The meat and cheese plate was incredible! I honestly don’t know what it was except delicious. They also included hummus and chips and bread. The meat and fruit place was the same except minus the meat and plus the fruit. We had ordered 3 different kinds of wine (1 bottle/​couple). Needless to say we were all having a blast on this lovely ride! The ride itself was ~1.5 hrs and they have 4 different time slots: Noon: 12:30pm — 2:00pm Afternoon: 2:30pm — 4:00pm Late Afternoon: 4:30pm — 6:00pm Sunset: 6:30pm — 8:00pm. You should definitely reserve online as soon as possible for the better times. If you’re using the Groupon, call the number that is provided on your Groupon and the person on the other line (not sure who haha) will give you a code to enter when you book online.
The boat is extremely spacious with full crystal clear panels (almost like plastic windows) for great 360° views. You have the option to open them on sunny and warm days (but be careful-​the wind is always a lot stronger than you’d expect-​trust me from experience) or closed to be protect from colder wind and even rain! It’s covered so no worries about getting wet! They also give you an option of what kind of music you’d want to listen to (we went with 90’s music!)
We had so much fun and I definitely recommend this. They also have other options including renting one and driving one by yourself so check out their site to explore!

I rented a Duffy boat last min for my birthday this past holiday weekend and can not say enough great things about our experience and the owners of the company.
We rented the boat at 6pm, so as we were finishing our trip around the bay, it was sunset and beautiful out. It took some time getting used to driving the boat, but once we got the hang of it, it was easy. 90 mins was a nice trip, but definitely could have gone for 3 hours. High recommend renting a Duffy boat for a special occasion or even just because.

My friend rented a Duffy Boat for her birthday and we had an amazing time! There were 9 people in our party and there was plenty of room on board. I thought the price was a great deal!
We arrived at 5:30 pm (as requested) for a 6:15 pm departure. The boat we were taking came in shortly after we got there and the awesome crew meticulously cleaned it and then gave a very thorough instruction to the captain and co-​captain. The crew did a great job. You would’ve never known a party used it right before us. I loved that we got to drive it ourselves!
We had so much fun on our 1.5 hour birthday booze cruise! We brought all kinds of drinks and snacks and really enjoyed the seals, birds, and sunset of Mission Bay. The windows kept us comfy and the deck on back was so fun! Those two little seats on the back of the boat really are the best seats in the house! The only problem we had on the boat was the speaker in the front of the boat kept going in and out. We were able to plug our phone into an aux cord though so that was great!
I will definitely come back and rent a Duffy Boat for a special occasion! Can’t wait!

So I surprised my girlfriend for her birthday with this trip and she freaking loved it! Other than the great sex because of it, it was actually an amazing experience. Devin our driver was the coolest guy ever. Very open and fun. We chatted with the other couples and had enough space to have moments to ourselves. It was a sunset to remember. We didn’t have cash so we didn’t have the opportunity to tip but he for sure deserved it. Will have that handy for the next one!
