Women that worked there named Turtle is super friendly, and it was a great price ! I will be coming here in the future and l would highly recommend my friends and family to come here.

What a great time paddle boarding! My wife and I booked a private stand up paddle board lesson with Wendy. We had such a fun time! Between the sea lions sunning themselves next to our boards, the bright red tuna crabs swimming along with us, and the beautiful location what more could we ask for? We were first timers but Wendy was helpful, a great teacher, and fun. Next time we’re in San Diego we’ll be back.

Buyer beware. I purchased a «demo kayak» on eBay from this company. Inaccurate representation of the kayak’s condition. Severely sun bleached and scratched. Not in «great condition» as listed. Would not compromise or offer any type of discount.

Dog-​friendly and super friendly staff (Thanks, Turtle!!!). After our first time experience at Aqua Adventure, we purchased a Frequent Kayak Renter Punch Card. Totally worth it if you’re local!
We took our pooch here, and they have doggie life vests for free! There is even a carpet padding to put in your kayak for your pooch to be comfortable :)

Love this place! Overdue review. Paddle boarding is a blast, and my lesson with Chris was great. I picked it right up. In all my paddle boarding days since, I have never fallen off the board! This is one of my favorite ways to exercise, enjoy sunny San Diego days and socialize with whoever I’m paddling with. The staff at this location are friendly and helpful and the equipment is new and well taken care of. Prices are great. Can’t wait until the weather warms up so I can start paddling again!

This place is great! Very helpful for first time users, dog friendly– provides life vests and footing mat and it’s in a good location easily accessible to Fiesta Island, Sea World, Mission beaches. Feel free to pack a lunch in a water dare bag and spend the day out on the water.

I guess I can consider myself a regular at Aqua Adventures. I visit there often with groups as small as 3 and as large as 40. They have always been able to accommodate me well. Jennifer and the staff are amazing. They are helpful ambitious and safety oriented. They truly give you the feeling that your happiness comes first. The equipment is well maintained and abundant. I would recommend Aqua Adventures to everyone. The Adventures are endless!

I have been paddling with Aqua Adventures for 14 years now. They are super knowledgeable and professional. We bring large groups with dogs here with my business, Leash Your Fitness and they are super helpful & accommodating to our group. I would highly recommend them for all of your paddling adventures!

Myself and two friends signed up for three days of private kayak lessons. What a GREAT experience! Scott was a fantastic instructor. We spent a lot of time refining our strokes and learning different types of recoveries. We are all much more competent and safe paddlers for the experience. It was not all work though, each day we spent time paddling around Mission bay with brief forays into the Pacific. SO MUCH FUN! Great instructor, great organization, great retail shop. Highly Recommend!

Second time paddle boarding lots of fun. Took a beginner lesson from Alex very helpful and really in courage us to come again. We did the staff is great and great deal for multiple times. Just love it and we are planning our next time.

My Husband and I took advantage of the hot day to be out on the water for our first Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) experience. The Unilocal reviews convinced me to try Aqua Adventures out, and it was a great experience. Turtle was our personal guide and really helped us figure out how to stand on those things. Good times, good views of San Diego from a different perspective on the water. As a local San Diego resident, I recommend them. Ask for Turtle!

Been here twice, once to rent a fishing kayak, and then to get a SUP lesson.
Their selection of kayaks is fantastic, whether you are just paddling recreationally or looking to take a rod or two with you.

The staff was very kind and helpful as it was our first time stand up paddling (SUP) but the area is not great especially for first timers. It’s very choppy and has lots of boats that you have to maneuver around. Going to la jolla would have been a better choice, as it’s more calm of an area.

Went there today and had the best time ever. Rented two individual kayaks. We chose this place because they were open late and wanted the option to kayak late. Everyone that worked there was very nice. The kayaks were in perfect condition. The marina was easy to navigate. It is a perfect spot to rent kayaks. I highly recommend to locals or visitors for affordable rentals. They also offer a delivery service if you order a few kayaks and want them delivered to an inlet that is near you hotel. Really great experience.

Aqua Adventures was recommended by a recent acquaintance while I was visiting San Diego. The staff were quite chill and friendly, and provided a quick overview on handling the SUP, and where to paddle (cove by Hilton hotel). In addition to good service, here are a few other things I liked:
–they have their own parking space
–extremely calm water within the cove, very ideal for starters
–seals all over (hardly see those in Washington state)
I would rate this place 4 out of 5 stars. The extra star was from the staff giving me a call about my driver’s license, and mailing back to my home state. Many thanks!

I went moonlight kayaking, and there wasn’t one negative moment. My guide was really nice and patient, and since the group I went with was small (6 people) I was able to talk to her whenever I wanted.
We passed by sea lions (some swam right next to me) and some bioluminescence. At the end of the night, we kayaked all the way to SeaWorld and we were right in front of the fireworks. Definitely a beautiful sight.
Don’t forget to bring water shoes, water proof clothes, and a towel. Your lower half is going to be completely soaking wet.

I have always wanted to try stand-​up paddle boarding (SUP), and thought starting out in the bay with calm waters would be the best place to try it.
I found Aqua Adventures on Unilocal,and just showed up. There were a couple of young Irish guys working there on visas for the summer. They were really helpful, and you could tell they were taking the job seriously from a safety standpoint. Scott was working the counter, and couldn’t have been nicer. He showed me all the spots that were fun to paddle to on the map, and also what to avoid. Renting the board was as easy as signing a release and giving them your license for collateral. You pay when you return the board.
You can launch from the dock in front of their store, or they will drop of the board at the beach you want to board at. The bay is big and feels like an amusement park for water sports. There are so many great places to go and see. I felt safe around the big boats in the bay, and the Life Guard station is in the marina that they are located. SUP-​ing is easy and barely feels like a workout.
I returned the board around closing time, and grabbed a beer with the Irish guys. I felt right at home. I highly recommend renting from this place!

This is an amazing place, I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed it yet.
I love Aqua Adventures because you can do many fun activities with them:
1) Rent a kayak,
2) Rent a SUP,
3) Take classes on kayaking and SUPing — very useful and helpful! I took several classes from them, the latest one on basic SUPing with Scott, every class was great and helped me build up my skills.
4) Go on a kayaking trip to Baja. I did it last year, we paddled from La Bufadora (near Ensenada) to Todos Santos Islands — it was amazing!
5) Go watch Sea World fireworks from a kayak — that’s what I did last Saturday. It was super fun — paddling in the dark, with glowsticks and flashlights, and then watching the fireworks so close that it seemed they were flying right at me.
6) Buy water sport gear,
7) Buy kayaks or SUPs — new or used.
Another thing that makes this business 5-​star — an amazing team of people. Scott, Ben, Alex, Laura, and of course Jen!
Everyone is so friendly and professional, so helpful, make you feel comfortable and give great advice and share paddling knowledge.
The location is great — easy parking, good dock to launch from, a comfortable bathroom and a shower.

I’ve kayaked throughout San Diego, and rented kayaks from a ton of shops around town… Aqua Adventures is my favorite spot for kayak rentals and lessons. They have a variety of kayaks, depending on what you’re into. Also have gear for your car, SUP boards, pretty much anything you can think of, or would need to have for fun in the water.
I took a private lesson with Aqua Adventures instructor, Scott, to learn sea kayaking skills. He was professional, knowledgeable and patient. His easy going attitude toward teaching put me at ease, and I was able to learn some great techniques to improve my sea paddle experience. I plan to return to Aqua Adventures to continue my kayaking education and simply enjoy some time on the water.

We took our 20 lb dog with us and we had one of the Best Days ever!!! Man who helped us was so kind and helpful. Price was so affordable and kayaks were in the best condition! We will be referring all our pup friends and will definitely be back!

Came to SD on vacation and brought our dog. We wanted to SUP, and this turned out to be the perfect place!
This was my first time, but my boyfriend who was with me has gone many times. The man helping us set us up with our gear (and a life jacket for me), and we were off! Though we brought our own dog life jacket, they had some available for use.
It was a great, hassle-​free, quick process! And it was very, very reasonably priced! I would definitely recommend using Aqua Adventure for SUP, especially if you have a dog, and will definitely use them again in the future!

Kayaking with dogs was a fun first time experience for me! Everyone who works there was friendly and helpful. I had my GoPro with me on a handheld stick, they were worried that my GoPro might fall into the water, so they put a little strap onto the GoPro so that it would be secured around my neck — instead of having me holding it with a stick. That was very nice of them!
I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back again! ^_​_​_​^

Kayaking with Aqua Adventures was a pleasant experience. Located along Mission Bay, they have ample parking and competitive pricing – probably some of the best prices I’ve seen for the activities they offer! The staff were so helpful and nice, whether it was handling our waivers, getting us the right equipment, and offering tips and directions. While they don’t have lockers, you can keep things with them behind the counter.
Since it’s the bay, launching from here is much smoother than say, the shores of LJ. Right as you exit, you can see a group of Sea Lions hanging out, and there’s lot of scenery around the area so long as you paddle out far enough. An extra thing to note is if you pay in cash, they’ll knock a couple bucks off of the final payment for you. As a return gesture, we just stuck the rest of the original price quote into the tip jar. They deserve all the business they get, and more!
