I came to get my hair fixed due to over processing. Met Joy she was very welcoming and thorough with my consultation. She showed me some of her work and decided to go with her «progressive braids», they looked extremely natural. She was quick, neat and efficient. She also had a Great personality.
Returned later for a sewn in extensions. She pressed my hair soo silky smooth. It was shiny and soft and it stayed straight for 3 weeks. (I only washed because it got oily) I would definitely recommend check her out. 2 thumbs up!

I had the great opportunity to return to Dream Hair Design again for a special occasion. As usual, I was greeted with enthusiasm and professionalism. Sat in my stylist chair, Stacy, told him my desire and allowed him to artistically work his incomparable artistic talent on my hair. Not only was I totally satisfied, I would now make him my regular stylist whenever necessary. Kudos to a very talented stylist and a very satisfied customer.

I have been seeing Staysea at Dream Hair Design for over 10 years. The service is always excellent and the environment is very friendly and welcoming.

Came in last min and Shanita was available to tighten and wash my hair most definitely will be back great service very clean business I highly recommend this place everything very professional

ok so i am a long time customer. i dont go in all the time because i do bounce from stylist to stylist depending on what i need at the time. i can agree the owner talks loud and they do gossip but Staysea is a very nice guy and will give your hair LIFE so if your hair is damaged and dry and bleached and alllll that… well, forget about the gossip and go get your head lookin right!!! When i went to staysea for the first time my hair was in HORRIBLE condition… he brought life back into my hair like no other beautician could do… if you wear your hair natural and want a press and flat iron Staysea is your man!!! I loooove the way he cuts also so idk who cut the persons hair who complained before me but it couldnt have been staysea for sure! I cannot wait to sit in his chair on friday so my boo can run his fingers thru my silky scalp!!! hahahaha

Keep coins for the meter if parking in the front or park in the back adjacent to the shop. Plenty of food options nearby.

– Needs better customer service
–Too much gossip
–Do not dig in your nose and NOT wash your hands in front of your customers (JUST NASTY!)
–Stop taking your sweet ass time
Side Note: When you go to a salon, most of the time, you can tell exactly who the owner is (if he or she is there). Usually, he or she is the one that is professional, greeting the customers, not into all that gossip talk, you know, a REAL PROFESSIONAL WHO IS ABOUT HIS OR HER BUSINESS.
It took me a minute to realize who the owner of this salon was. Hell, I thought he was an employee from the way he was acting. He didn’t greet me when I came in. He was loud as hell and I hate to use this word, but he was RATCHET as hell too. There was this one lady in there who I believe was one of his regular customers; she wouldn’t shut up. She was telling her business and other people’s business. The owner was going right along with it. I said to myself, «This place is a joke right?»
The only reason why I gave this place two stars is because I got a pretty decent haircut. Other than that, I felt so uncomfortable. The environment had a negative vibe to it. It just didn’t feel right at all.

I had a really nice experience at this salon. I thought the service was quick and efficient for a touch up and trim. After not being able to style ny hair because of work, I felt very pretty stepping out. My stylist went the extra mile for me so I tipped him well. The only thing I didn’t like was that I was given a base before my relaxed. Oh, did it burn! More my fault than his, though. I have an appointment today. Can’t wait!

I dropped my dog off and just randomly mentioned that I had something planned for tomorrow. They automatically said to go next door to Dream Hair.
It is dead in there. One washer one stylist three heads ahead of me. By the time he got to my head I wanted to leave and here’s why:
He started screaming at another customer in my damn ear. And no one dry screams over you, hell yeah he spit on me a few times and not once apologized. I don’t even think he realized he spits when he yells. How about we tell that other customer who wasn’t under a dryer getting washed or otherwise being serviced to move closer so I don’t go deaf hearing your business. Here’s another reason why. I said this is getting wrapped so don’t bother trying to make my hair look cute today. I have my dog next door who might finish before me. Yet the stylist decided that I had to look cute anyway. Which takes more time than I have. If I say don’t fuss, don’t fuss, don’t argue, just do what I asked how I asked and don’t talk back.
He then got upset claimed I had an attitude then had the nerve to sulk after I explained again that I have my dog next door sitting in a box waiting on me.
Don’t go there unless you got time for MS. DQ to scream in your ear and mess with your hair all freakin’ day. If I ever go back there I’ll call ahead and ask for someone else.
My hair does look good though. Which is the only reason my broke ass tipped him.

I was having issues finding a good salon here in San Diego until my friend recommended DREAM HAIR DESIGN to me. I called the salon (619−299−4247) and made a same day appointment with Stacey. I must say my experience there was FANTASTIC, the atmosphere was wonderful something that I did not expect for a busy salon. I was immediately greeted by staff once I entered the establishment, I was taken right away to hang my coat, Stacey counseled with me on what I wanted style wise for my hair. I was ushered to the shampoo area where not only did I get a shampoo but a scalp massage as well. My hair was dried and after a 25 min wait I was in Stacey’s chair getting a cut and style. I must say my experience was wonderful and I highly recommend this salon to any woman looking for a SUPERIOR stylist and salon. Stacey specializes in short cuts/​styles and weaves. I paid much less than expected as well. Needless to say I have found a new salon and stylist that I am so very satisfied with.

No appointment… needed a hair cut bad, talked to OCTAVIA, and got a great hair cut!!! I just love it. The salon is fun too! Crazy, funny workers having a great time. Large screen TV too and it happens that Octavia has the best station to watch it from.
Octavia will be doing my hair again, that is for sure.

I too want to recommend Gloria. She has been cutting my hair for over 15 years now! She gave my son his first cut, and he’s a teenager now. I have never found a better barber (and I’m not looking!)

I love Gloria. I’m in about every two weeks to get my fade touched up and she does the best job ever. And Octavia can snatch some eyebrows. I always have a good time though some customers seem like they never got home training on how to act in public.
