My wife and I had a craving for frozen yogurt yesterday and she told me about a place that she had been to before at the H Street mall in Chula Vista. Since the temperature was in the 90’s, frozen yogurt sounded great! We walked in and the place seemed okay until I asked the man behind the counter for sample cups for my wife and I. Instead of handing them to us, he asks us what we want and gives us the samples himself. While somewhat odd, I thought maybe he was trying to be helpful so I let it go. Then, when he watched my wife and I like a hawk as we were putting toppings on our yogurt, I began to get creeped out. No sir. I am not stealing your stuff! He couldn’t tell me if he had Heath toffee toppings when I asked and told me to «just put chocolate on instead». Are you serious dude? The sad part is when a kid and her mom went to complain(politely) to him about the chocolate yogurt tasting funny. Keep in mind that this girl was only 8 years old or so. It’s almost as if he took it personal and responded to her in a loud voice saying«You have different taste buds than everyone else. No one has ever said anything like that before!». The mom and daughter walked away and he went over to the boba toppings, stuck his fingers in(with no gloves on), and pulled out a couple. GROSS!!! Sorry dude but your customer service sucks and the health department should shut you down for putting your fingers where they don’t belong. Talk about unsanitary! We will not be back!

For the record this is for the location inside the Chula Vista mall. On broadway and h st! Worst service ever, and the yogurt doesn’t make up for it either. My cousin Is home from school and we happened to be in the area. We walk in, and the only indication that someone is even working there is the one sided conversation you can hear coming from the back. I want to assume it was because we came in quietly– but once those machines get going there is no doubt of our presence. No greeting, «welcome in », or «would you like a sample«. Not even eye contact! I am not one to completely get thrown off by this– but I don’t appreciate it. Granted — she was on the phone the whole time so how could I expect her to take away from her very important convo to greet us?! Anyways, I picked my stale toppings and added them to my quickly melting froyo, ready to pay. Do you know the first and ONLY thing said to us was? «you can put them on the scale together///////your total is $ 9». Look, don’t kiss my hand or feet, don’t even greet me, but once I’m actually making a purchase please get off the phone and acknowledge you’re making a sale. You clearly don’t have the time, so neither do I. I can confirm that I’ll never recommend this place, or return.

The yogurt was eh, doesn’t stand out from any other frozen yogurt I’ve had at different places . What really pissed me off was the service, I know it’s self-serve, but c’mon now, i couldnt even tell who was working there. I went there today and the guy in charge was just sitting at one of the customer tables and watching TV, no problem with that, but after we walked in he was still there laying back, and me and my friend were not sure of what we wanted to get and wanted to try the flavors before, we couldn’t even tell if the man worked there or was just a random guy. We walked towards the cashier to see if any worker was there, ANDTHEGUYISSTILLSITTINGACTINGLIKEWEARENTEVENTHERE! My friend finally turned and asked«do you work here?» and he was just like«yeah» while still sitting, my friend asked for a sample cup and the man just rudely asked«WHICHONEDOYOUWANT?!» like he was so upset that he had to stand up from his nap to help out a customer. After that we just got our yogurt, we paid, and left. Later we walk by and we saw more customers in the place, and the man still sitting there like a lazy pug. I know many people who would gladly take that job and offer a better service, yet they’re unemployed when somehow these lazy-asses get hired over them. Guess that explains the economy, I really hope that wasn’t the manager, else that would have been even more sad.

YUM! This is my second favorite yogurt. It’s so creamy, just perfection. They have a sugar free boysenberry flavor, and it’s my favorite! I’ve never put any of the toppings on my yogurt, but they have a great variety of syrups, fruits, chocolates, candy, and granola. service might need a small adjustment, but i remember one time after I payed, the man behind the register asked me if I wanted any toppings«on the house» but I explained I rather have the yogurt on it’s own. But hey, it’s the thought that counts right? Anyways, this yogurt is very good, very creamy, very fresh, very delicious. 35 cents an ounce, try it, it’s the only reason I go to that mall.

The banana yogurt was so good with toffee & oreo chunks after a good work out at the gym. So Yummy. It was a nice treat. Service was whatever since it is a self served place. All that guy does is weighs the yogurt and takes your money. Also felt a bit uncomfortable that when we left, he followed us and put a sign on the door saying [i’ll be right back]. Maybe he had to pee? haha. Still the banana is def my favorite guilty pleasure with lots of chocolate. yum! I want it again.

Back during the boba rush it felt like at the height of the craze all of the new stores started to taste the same and use the same vendors to deliver their drinks. Not so for the yogurt craze. Dolci Mango improts everything over from Europe for a more distinctly desert/candy like taste. This is still the same type of yogurt everyone is promoting for health benefits but it borders on being flavorful to the point of being artificial. Not to say that this is the best way to have yogurt. It’s just a different style. If you’re a fan of tart you’ll be disappointed here. Oh and if you’re a fan of pumpkin treats during the fall season go scoop some up right now! I used to order starbucks pumpkin lattes with two extra flavor shots but Dolci Mango is spot on with their pumpkin yogurt =)
