Really great selection of high end and hard-​to-​find spirits. Bourbon/​rye/​single malt fanatic? Go here. Small batch tequila your jam? Go here. Need a sour beer to pair with those mussels for tonight’s dinner? Go here. Great «hands-​off» staff who are there when you need them but otherwise are just hanging out casually in the background. Plus it’s attached to a cute little bistro — so you can grab a bite and watch the Padres game if you’re not in a rush.
Wish this place was around the corner from my house here in Omaha! I’ll be back on my next SD visit, for sure.

Always 5 Stars! We just love the owner of this place! Pizza is the best in town and sandwiches are a smashing deal! I have been going to this deli since I was in high school and would rate it nothing less than 5 stars :)

One of the best places to buy beer! I think they said they had over 1200 (one thousand two hundred) different beers in the cooler!!!

Great place. Always improving… ambiance, food, beer selection, wine selection. It is probably the largest selection of beer, wine and spirits south of Escondido. Staff is friendly, energetic, willing to help. Cool outdoor patio and comfortable indoor seating too. Tons of special tasting events and pairing dinners. Always an ecclectic array of beers on tap. A hidden gem.

My boyfriend likes to buy wine here. Fair enough.
Me? I for one hate living next to this place because of all the drunk douches who think they are both drunk and clever in the middle of the night…
…Pretty much every night. If you go here, please don’t be a douche. Don’t smash your liquor bottles where I have to park my car, throw up in my apartment complex’s bushes, or throw your beer cans around the parking lot where kids and little old ladies walk in the morning. It pretty much sucks.
All in all, can’t say much bad about the products this business provides – I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love a good cabernet as much as the next girl. However, it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED if the place didn’t serve people liquor until they are so screwed up they can’t walk and wind up sitting down on the asphalt to pee themselves. (I’ve seen it. True story.)

I won’t claim to be the ultimate connoisseur of beer or wine but this place is amazing! Floor to ceiling stacked with almost every imaginable liquor — local and international brews (plenty of them already nice and frosty for immediate satisfaction), fine wines and champagne, beers on tap, beer and wine tastings and now food! Hey locals and Metro San Diego — with the help of places like this Del Cerro is becoming the latest cool kid on the block!

I loved the pleasant surprise that is Del Cerro Liquor! My friend had attended a wine tasting here, so a group of us headed over to enjoy some drinks on the patio while our men had their NFL fantasy draft. We walked in, and the place looked like a classy BevMo. The walls are covered in all kinds of alcohol and the selection looked great. We sat on the patio and had some glasses of wine/​beer and enjoyed a cheese platter. The food on the menu looked really good and wasn’t too pricey. I also loved that if something wasn’t on the menu, but carried in the store, you could order it while sitting on the patio and then it was brought to you as though it was something the bar was stocked with. Very cool place!

This place is great! I wandered in expecting to get a deli sandwich like back in the day but what I got was SOOOOOO much better. The Fire Bird sandwich is amazing! and 700 beers to choose from who could ask for anything more? A great little local place that’s tucked away from all the hub-​bub.

This is not your dad’s liquor store. Yes, it is a liquor store. They have a very comprehensive selection of tequila, Belgian beers, flavored vodkas, domestic and imported wines, etc. They really have it all. And if they don’t, the helpful staff can get it ASAP. The owner also owns Keg and Bottle at College and El Cajon. Besides being a butt-​kicken’ liquor store, they are now a wine, beer, and tapas bar! The beer selection is as good as it gets. The wines are a bit pricey, but hey, you can’t get Asti Spumante (spelling?) by the glass too many places. The tapas are insanely good. I highly recommend the chorizo street tacos and the Yogi sandwich. Nice outdoor patio. Dogs are OK. Kids are encouraged. Huge box of toys to go around. Open until midnight most nights. Happy hour is 3 – 7. Specials daily.

I had the pleasure of attending a wine tasting event here on my last visit to SD.
The owners/​staff are so sweet! I was able to try some amazing wines, munch on yummy apps and take in the splendor of this store!
Wines galore! Beer selection is just as good. We spent about 30 minutes just going down the beer aisle. Growing up, I remember places like this. It’s nice to know they are still around.
We made off with a delicious bottle of White wine: Copain. Try it! All I remember is the name, but I’m sure the staff will know what you’re asking for.

I used to go here way back in the day when I was in high school, and the sandwiches were so good! Since then it’s gone through I think multiple owners, but hopefully it has found it’s new niche! They have recently re-​done the place and put up a whole outside patio for eating/​drinking. I’ve only eaten at the new deli once but it was really good… we ate in the new patio and had a glass of wine. Prices are reasonable and they have a large selection of wine. They also do wine and beer tastings every saturday! I have yet to experience them, but have heard that they’re fun.

This could be one of the best liquor stores in San Diego. The selection of Wines, Beers and Spirits are only better at Bev&Mo. The prices for many beers (that’s what I drink) are very good. Del Cerro Liquor could easily get five stars. And why not? The employees. The service is terrible. Actually it’s non-​existent. Every time I go in the staff are on the phone talking away or they’re taking with each other. There is little or no greeting as you enter the store and sometimes I almost get the feeling I’m inconveniencing them when it’s time to pay. I will not give my custom to a store where the employees refuse to acknowledge my presence. They are the fourth owners in ten years, so we’ll see how long they last. As for the sandwiches, I used to buy them from the previous owners, but it looks a bit dodgy now. The store has been a construction site for the last year. I’m surprised they have license to sell prepared food.

I haven’t tried the deli here yet, but this place is a beer-​drinkers paradise. Best selection of outstanding beers I’ve seen in San Diego. Bar none.

Del Cerro Liquor? I barely Del Cerro know ‘er!
This is the liquor store I went to as a kid. No… not for liquor, for sandwiches! We constantly went in here to pick up their $ 1 pre-​wrapped Italian sandwiches for lunch, ballgames, and picnics. If you asked the guy behind the counter he’d throw in some pickles for free.
I haven’t been here in awhile now, but at some point in college my tastebuds improved considerably and I realized their Italian sandwich tasted terrible. My family still likes them, but I have to go elsewhere for my Italian sandwich needs.
About 15 years ago I heard the owner won a $ 100,000 bottle of wine at an auction, and planned to drink it at a party with his friends.

The most incongruous place for a nice and generous sandwich, yet this liquor store braves unfair prejudgments. The sandwich list is very exhaustive, and all of these monsters are copiously filled with condiments. One of my personal favorites is the Italian stallion. This gargantuan piece of work is a tribute to deli meats and messy seasoning: I love it. The pita sandwich is another tasty treat filled with avocado, alfa alfa and an overall healthier assortment of ingredients. Now this is a liquor store after all, so I should add that their alcoholic selection is quite vast and multi-​faceted. Over the years, the owners have always been super accommodating, helpful, and nice to me.
