DateOxy​gen​.com was conceived in early 2012 (exact date unknown) and was born after an extremely difficult labor approximately 9 months later in October 2012.

Meet the Business Owner

Janet D.

Business Owner

Janet is a California lifer who left her quiet NorCal nest in 1985, and headed south to San Diego in search of urban stimulation… and, a bit more sun. Her passion for exploring was ignited in Tahiti in 1991, after her tongue met Poisson Cru and she tasted freedom on a French-​style (topless) beach. More than 20 years — and 17 countries — later, she’s adept at rooting out real gelato and an authentic French macaron, become a pizza snob courtesy of passionate chefs around the world, and, most importantly, has become well-​honed at seeking out cool experiences wherever she is in the world.

After years writing to inspire others to veer off-​the-​beaten path in her travel blog, The Wandering Housewife, Date Oxygen was born to help couples explore San Diego together.
