Club Marina

first off this place is a dive… BUT it’s one of the great dives I’ve been to. The qualities I look for in a dive are: cheap drinks, interesting décor, interesting characters and this place has all 3 in spades. Friday and Saturday nights you’re going to get a younger crowd (like in their 30’s…this ain’t Pacific Beach) but this place really shines at times like a Tuesday afternoon at 3pm. You’ll have plenty of room to stretch out and get hammered on cheap stiff drinks (4.50 for a jack and coke is about as cheap as it gets). You don’t get more Point Loma than this place…

First time to Club Marina. Great drinks, great prices and an awesome bartender Erin! She is awesome. Go in and see her Friday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday’s. Best local hang out in Point Loma

We sat in the office chairs last time we went, I had thrown my back out. I will say the office chairs and propping my feet up on the fireplace «mantle» played a large part in my recovery, along with the muscle relaxers. It was lively in there, downright fun. Club Marina, you may be growing on me…

Came here on a whim right after my closing shift at a nearby bar. Marina was just about to close and was completely dead, but the bartender had no problems serving us until her cab arrived. A quick look over the drinks and prices proved to me that I would love this place. I’m a sucker for dive bars, no matter how divey they may be. They thwart tourists’ away, the drinks are cheap and the regulars are the best people to converse with.
I believe the Fat Tires were $ 2.50 a piece and shots were even cheaper than that. I had a whole pocket full of tips from the night and I was in the mood to pay this woman for the last few minutes of her shift. 15 minutes went by super quick, as did the 4 shots and 4 beers that I crushed in that same amount of time. I loved it here and made a mental note to make this a must on my list every time I’m in Point Loma. Thank you to the bartender for putting up with us right as you were about to close. We did tip her quite a bit, because the industry takes care of its own. Marina, I’ll be back soon.

Quirky dive bar! Cutely decorated with eclectic treasures. The patron Cadillac margarita was just ok, thought it would be spectacular since it was not made from a mix. Bartender was very nice. Lots of salty drunk patrons and a dog was on the bar stool next to me! They said he was Irish so it was ok! ??

We went looking for a local dive bar and found club marina. It was awesome! The bartender Erin was fantastic! We would definitely come back next time we’re in town.

I love me a good dive bar and this one didn’t disappoint! My first trip to San Diego and it rained for 2 days (not typical I’m told). My friend and I were staying down the street and I spotted this place and it immediately gave off a good vibe. It’s a little hole-​in-​the-​wall with a casual mix of regulars. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. The bartender, Brad, was super cool and made some good cocktails. He told us to come back the next morning for his signature Bloody Mary’s on Sunday. It had crab (imitation), big shrimps, a cucumber spear, and a large stalk of celery. Yum yum, breakfast of champions! Had to come back the next day to say our goodbye’s and try a Bloody Mary or two. It won’t be my last trip to San Diego and certainly not the last time I visit Club Marina!

Best dive bar in Pt Loma

Kathy: get a new job because you are clearly miserable and do not know what customer service is! Dive bars are great! But… this place is ridiculous. Yikes

Great local dive bar. Brad the bartender is awesome! Very friendly place. We were out for a walk came across it. Will come back next visit.

I went for a walk in Point Loma ad stumbled across this gem. I love dive joints and this place didnt disappoint. The bartenders name was Brad (i think) he had a rad mustache and a friendly welcoming personality. I didnt realize it was a cash bar and he let me drink my beer then walk out, find an ATM and come back to pay. Solid dude. Theyve got pool, big buck hunter, kitschy old school pics on the wall from the 70’s im assuming. Colorful friendly patrons. Id leave OB to come drink there anytime.

Divey but fun. The wood burning stove reminds me of a ski lodge. Free pool tables. CASH ONLY bar. This is my last stop on every pub crawl.

Cool little dive bar. Good prices on drinks, and there are usually some interesting characters in here. There’s a jukebox, and one pool table. It’s a smaller place, with bar seating, a few tables with chairs, and some assorted love seat type chairs. Cool place overall.

Nice little dive bar near shelter island. They don’t have any beers on tap, but they have a decent selection of bottles (only a few craft).

Brad is amazing! Friendly face and always remembers you. The Bloody Mary is amazing on Sunday

This place is a true dive bar, piratey as I like to call it. If you are looking for cheap strong drinks, local flavor, and a guaranteed interesting night then Semi Live is the place for you. You know it has to be good when it says «Semi Live Entertainment/​Fun» on the sign.
What you need to know:
1. Cash Only
2. Cheap strong drinks made by friendly local bartenders (Deanna is the best!)
3. Free pool!
4. They sell corn nuts and slim jims
5. The locals are friendly, but I’d say this place is best enjoyed when you bring a few friends.
This is the type of place you come with a few friends when you want one of those nights out where you spend about 20 bucks, meet a bunch of friendly, albeit weathered, locals and end up at MXN at the end of the night cracking up about how you just harassed the guy making your burrito. I speak from experience.
Side note: They often do BBQ’s or have potluck style food for free here, which is pretty sweet if you ask me.

The bartender, some blonde girl, was noticeably drunk. I’m talking slurring her words, wobbling and sweaty. Sweatier than Megan Fox in Transformers. When I bought two drinks, I asked what the damage was and she replied with «twelve, eleven, fifteen.»
I gave her a $ 20 and got $ 15 back. Awesome.
When me and my cohorts went to play pool, a small, pale, petite and (maybe) hairless man followed us and hovered around one of the girls in our group. He looked like he might have been a jockey. Petite, clammy hands on this guy. He never said a word. He just stood, sipped his Bud Light and stared and I loved every minute of it.
Creepy? A little. Sketchy? Sort of. Would I go back? You bet.

This little spot is like a cross between your uncle’s basement and an ex-captain’s yard sale. If you like your bars the way I do with all sorts of random sh*t inside em’ then you’ll definitely dig the Marina Club. Some of it’s highlights include

It’s everything you could possibly ask a dive bar to be. If you like a little dirt around the edges of your drinking establishments you’ll fit right in.
