Martha is why — though I am a DC girl now — I will always never hesitate to stop into Bellissima when I’m on the West Coast for a trim! She saved my messy haircut, preserving the length, while giving it such a beautiful shape that I didn’t know my thin, shaggy locks could maintain — and the shape has held on for a second day to be worn at my best friend’s wedding.
Martha is sweet, kind, funny, and, above all, a talented lady with the shears (she has over 30 years experience!). I recommend her all the way!

I just moved to San Diego a few months back and had been putting off getting a haircut (hairdresser roulette in a new city, you know how it is). Then I stumbled upon Martha, and what a luck of the draw!
She books her own appointments and runs the business, so there wasn’t that hurry-​up-​and-​get-​out-​for-​my-​next-​client feeling. She really took her time and I got perhaps the best haircut I’ve ever had. Not to mention she is so kind and genuine — I always feel a little uncomfortable making small talk to my hairdresser, but she has a talent of making you feel comfortable.

I’ve been walking by this salon for months and finally decided to give it a try. Martha is great! And has tons of experience. I literally never let anyone cut my hair but myself because everyone usually messes up but Martha did a great job. Really listened to how i wanted to cut my hair and nailed.

She knows what she is doing and keeps up with styles and fashion. You never ever feel rushed. Wall-​ins are welcome but you can never go wrong with an appointment when it comes to a haircut. Comfortable sofas and chairs adorn this newly remodeled bellissima salon and while you wait for your «turn», there are many things to do to pass time. Many beauty products (shampoos, gels ect.) are available as well as jewelry trinkets and even stuff like trendy blouses are for sale in a boutique-​like setting. I just got the Yuko straightening treatment and Wow! I love it more than the Ionic straightening! (The Brazilian Blowout blows. Not worth it.) My hair is so straight, shiny and healthy but still has volume. I only trust Marta to straighten my hair. Other places fried it. She will only focus on you during this long, 4+ hour process. She won’t even answer her phone! Not cheap but worth it! She also gives great haircuts with lots of attention to detail. She never rushes her work. I’m so picky and will only go to Marta. Great personality, so friendly and fluent in Spanish. Thank You!
