The place is a dump. Awful service and exorbitant prices.
Food taste is below average. The staff is rude and make faces for everything.
Lacks basic hygiene and cleanliness. The same person serves the food, cleans the tables and picks out the trays without the gloves. I have seen them returning to work without even washing the hands.

Came in around 5pm to a relatively quiet place using a Groupon. We’ve been to the restaurant and had a good experience and I’m pretty sure they had an «Express» in Carmel Mtn that was good but closed.
Although the food was tasty, as was the naan, but it could barely be torn by hand and was excessively chewy, like it had been precooked and microwaved.
But the worst part was the lack of cleanliness. It started with the server’s uniform being smeared with food stains. Then it was looking at the tables for a place to sit, and literally half the tables hadn’t been wiped. Then it was paper trash on the floors, food on the kitchen floors, and a sticky mess by the entrance no doubt caused by overflowing trash cans. How you could have 3 completely full cans is beyond me.
Even the stoves in the front had grease and food on the vertical surfaces. This is one of those times where again I regret not taking pics.
Although it wasn’t quite bad enough to make me quit eating, I’m seriously doubting I’ll use the second half of my Groupon.
What I will guarantee if there is a second trip, is that I won’t hesitate to take pics of any more unsanitary conditions.

Oof. I’ve started to think that my first experience here was an anomaly. I’ve had a number of meetings up in this area over the last few months, and found myself with only a brief dinner break. I’ve stopped in and gotten to-​go on at least five occasions now. Every time I’m so hopeful because I LOVEEEE the other Bawarchi. But they are completely different. The food at this one is inconsistent (sometimes looks or tastes quite different than the next time), but IS consistent in one way — it’s never great. Most recently, I had a VERY salty curry with a very bland tasting dosa. The previous time my dosa wasn’t cooked all the way. Another time, I ordered a stuffed dosa to go and when I opened it up, it was just a total mess in the container. Their chutney often seems less than fresh, too. The service isn’t very friendly or nice, either. It’s adequate, but never beyond that. The one time I ate in the restaurant, several of the tables were dirty (no dishes, but pieces of food, etc.). Just disappointing! Especially since the other one is so delicious.

the best place for lunch. they have the veg combo which is $ 6.47 with tax which has rice one veg entrée and naan bread.

Bad customer service, the food is mild and when I ask for a better chicken plate because he put too much bones in the plate, they were very upset and try to sell me that plate, nevertheless I refuse and ask for something else but by that time they put less rice and the naan was burn and they decided not to talk to me at all after that .
This place is yoke in customer service and food is not authentic, too runny on the sauce .
Avoid this place if possible, too bad this place sits on a high demand workplace across from Qualcomm.

Just don’t. Don’t even consider this place. Probably the worst Indian place I’ve had m, ever. Chicken tikka is 90% sauce, 10% horrible chicken with fat and nerves.

Good food, but more expensive than other Indian places nearby.

Well that was very disappointing… I learned an important lesson: Not all indian places near Qualcomm are good. The fact that only like 2 people were in there around noon may have been a bad first sign.
I got the 2 item combo w/​chicken tikki masala and paneer. The paneer was good, but the chicken had a lot of crunchy/​gross pieces. At least it had a strong spiciness to it. The naan was sad and chewy and the raith (?) yogurt was runny… overall not thrilled and will probably stick to the one by or in the food court off Ruffin.
The guy working however, was pretty helpful, but the $ 10 charge? NOPE.

I’ve been here twice and found the food lacking. I got very small (1 cup) goat curry paratha today which ended up costing $ 17. It was too spicy and took a while to come out.

This place is pretty cafeteria/​fast food place. It looks like a cafeteria when you walk in and there are plenty of places to sit and eat. The worker prepares your plate and you pay, then eat. I have had a variety of different Indian food and this place doesn’t come close. The food was mediocre and the price wasn’t great either. I can understand why it would still do well because they are right next to the business buildings. Since they make massive quantities, it can be quick for 30-​min lunches. If you got some time, I would recommend Naseem’s Bakery and Kabob next door instead of this place.

Went here once and that was it. Whoever is running the kitchen needs to learn some basics of cooking. What a disaster. Learn from your next door neighbor who have half the space and double the Unilocal stars .

How difficult is making a samosa from scratch or frying a packaged pre cooked samosa? Apparently the most difficult dish to cook from my experience.

Dropped in for lunch as this place is close to my workplace. Ordered Chicken noodles and was waiting on my order. The guy behind the cash counter apparently did not communicate my order to the Chef and figured out a good 15 mins later. The noodles were ready 10mins later. There was not even an apology tendered by the staff for the delay. This is the 2^nd time that this place has bungled my order.
The noodles themselves tasted pretty average. There are far better Indian places in the Sorrento Valley like the 8 elements. The customer service is really non-​existing. Would never visit this place again. Ever!!!

This place is pretty awful… what a disappointment, because the other location is very good. This place has very cranky and unwelcoming staff… the food is poor quality and tastes old and rancid. Wish they cared more to serve decent food, because I would love to have a good dosa nearby.

LONELY? Their paneer tikki masala is the perfect replacement for love. Seriously will be one of my death row meals… should it ever come to that.
I also come here during the lunch rush because its close to my office, and every day the selection of vegetarian options changes and they’re all good, especially the eggplant curry, okra curry and the veggie korma. Served with rice, yogurt and a big piece of naan, its the fastest and best Indian in Mira Mesa.

Was shocked to see so many low rated star. Place is good. Some stats:
They have INDIAN burritos called a dosa! One dish I haven’t found at another Indian restaurant. Its a crispy crêpe wrapper filled w/​a vegetarian filling. There are several to choose from. Each dosa is served w/​three sauces and a soup. By far my favorite dish here.
There are some minuses. Not always the cleanest, but no worse than a McDonalds filled w/​kids. Can get crowded during lunch. So come early. Of course, would you really want to go to an empty restaurant?

Across from Qualcomm this place is usually packed during lunch as most indians go here… the food is most of the times good. the service mostly is very prompt. the only thing that would help is if they use two registers or something during lunch time cos its sometimes almost 15−20min wait at lunch…
Coming to food… i like their dal, kadai paneer and a few other curries… andhra dal is very good too… staff is nice.

Just like Panjabi Tandoor, they cheap out madly at the portions. Gave such little amounts of chicken I was like are you kidding me? I paid 10 bucks for this? I left still pretty hungry.
They even skimmed on the rice portions. Come on… it’s rice for crying out loud. It’s so cheap.
Don’t go here… why come here when you can go to Annapurna and pay the same price for a buffet…
No idea how this place gets packed. The reason is probably because there’s lots of lazy/​non-​drivers/​drivers that don’t want to drive people nearby since it is next to a bunch of Qualcomm buildings. And the fact that parking is a nightmare right now due to all the construction around it. Don’t be fooled by the crowd, they didn’t come for the quantity nor for the price but for convenience.
My poor coworker was so disappointed because of the portion that he had to find nearby restaurants to fill himself up.
Authentic Indian cuisine? Not apparently to the many Indians I have asked about this place. Come here if you want avg Indian food at a premium price and may desire to eat another portion or eat elsewhere to fill yourself up.

Average Indian food at inflated prices.
Bawarchi Express is a cafeteria version of the restaurant of the same name. This branch caters to the office workers in the nearby buildings. They serve both northern and southern indian food, but it seems that the north indian food combos are the most popular, 2 veg/1veg+1chicken/2chicken rice+naan+sides combos for around $ 9.15−10 after tax. I found the prices rather high for an fast-​food style Indian place.
The food is average, nothing exceptional and a fair lunch spot if options are limited. Food choices are the usual suspects: channa masala, tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, palak paneer. Some dishes were a little greasy, and they are stingy with the chicken.
This place is usually crowded during lunchtime when the office crowd comes over to grab lunch. You come in, join the line, order the food and pay at the counter and then grab a seat.
It’s okay to come here if time is limited, but there are way better Indian dining options along Black Mountain Road.
