Anytime Towing

This place is horrible never used them for anything if you don’t have the option. They will damage your car with ineptitude then try to deny responsibility.
They must make most their money from impound work because they sure as hell don’t know how to operate a towing service

SDPD towed my car because they said my car alarm had been going off for 20 minutes. This place charged $ 335.00 to get may car back a few hours later. I was never notified my car was here, I thought it was stolen. I had just washed my car and when I got it back it was covered with dirt and fingerprints all over my windows.

It’s hard enough as it is to deal with SD PD and their lies most of the time. Aaron saved me a lot of time and a few hundred dollars. I’m sure he sees all sorts of situations and people, so it’s nice he is so straightforward and honest. He explained exactly what I need to do and where to go to do it! I chose to listen to him instead of the dingbat parking officer that lied right to my face. Thankfully, I went with my gut instinct!

These guys are the lowest form of pond scum currently allowed to legally operate in America. Their rates are absolutely outrageous. My car gets towed and it costs me over $ 300 to get it back later that day? They must have triple digit profit margins percentages.
Was it my fault my car got towed? Absolutely. 100% my fault.
That doesn’t mean charging over $ 300 for a tow is even remotely fair.
There must be some sort of kickback system between these type of guys and city hall.

This is a corrupt business, hands down. They towed our boat (we owed a $ 2 trailer fee that was 1 month overdue) and, in the process, broke the hitch. They obviously rifled through the boat looking for things to steal. It felt calculated that they towed us on Valentine’s day which was a Friday on a HOLIDAY WEEKEND. So, of course, they are closed on Monday but they charged us all kinds of fees nonetheless. We picked up our boat as soon as we got off of work on Tuesday. Even after all of this, we were cool with the people who offered to help fix the hitch, etc. We just wanted our boat and to get out of there. HERE IS THE KICKER: THEY PUT A LIEN HOLD ON OUR BOAT!!! Seriously!!! The DMV even said they will investigate as this company is NOT reputable and they are putting lien sales on all sorts of nicer vehicles that they hope to basically steal from people. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED. It took us almost 2 weeks to figure out why there was a lien sale. We even went down to the San Diego Treasure worrying that perhaps there was a mistake on our taxes. It was crazy, and we are still hopping mad even though it’s now been 3 months since all this went down.

I got my car towed for inadvertently blocking a driveway — that’s not their fault, fair enough. What they can be faulted for is giving me an address two years out of date when I called to tell them I’d be coming in to pick it up and sending the friend who was nice enough to give me a ride and me on a wild goose chase, charging me $ 270 to sit on it for a few hours, smearing grease pencil all over the back windshield, and taking forever to process the paperwork when I did show up. These guys have a good scam going but their customer service sucks and they haven’t got half a functioning brain among them — I wouldn’t voluntarily use their services if I were stranded in the desert and they were the only towing company within a thousand miles.

Unlike these other reviews, I had a good experience with Anytime Towing. Thanks to Aaron I was able to beat the clock to avoid additional fees. Thanks!

Haha I have one that beats all of these. We had a small boat stolen. 2 weeks later some genius at SDPD found it. They left a message on my phone that I had to come pick it up with 20 minutes. And I need to bring a trailer. Needless to say I could not comply, so Sherlock Holmes had it towed and impounded. We were hit with all the same fees you are complaining about. Right now it is still there at $ 335 and increasing $ 38 per day along with $ 47 after hours fee if we dont get it before 5. Oh yeah the motor was stolen also. So we are victims of the original theft, the motor theft and the theft by the City and San Diego Police Department. Absolutely criminal on all accounts. I may also lose income from missing work to deal with this. I think I may sue the City and PD just for principal.

My car was towed by anytime yesterday late afternoon. Because my tags were expired. (that’s my fault and I’ll totally own up to it, I didn’t have to money to register it) not only was the tow truck driver completely rude to me and disrespectful. I can’t get my car out of impound till MONDAY since the DMV doesn’t open on Saturdays anymore. it’s going to cost me $ 402 dollars, (city fees, labor fees, towing fee’s, and my storage fee’s) I mean this is ridiculous. On top of all this while discussing my car with the police officer the tow guy is standing there and making rude unnecessary remarks about me being a dead beat. No sir I am not a dead beat obviously I need to be a tow truck driver and then I could afford to live in this insanely expensive city

My Son’s vehicle broke down yesterday evening at Camino Del Sur and the 56. According to the representative at the towing company. The vehicle was towed because it presented a hazard — according to the officer. I understand that — I wouldn’t want anyone getting hurt because of the vehicle location (curbside). My concern is with the unrealistic fee’s being charged by the towing company.
The vehicle was picked up at 2:30 am on ¹⁰⁄₃₁.
$ 361 to receive the vehicle prior to 5pm today 10/​31, after that — $ 361 plus $ 38 per day
According to their representative —
$ 361 —
$ 178 hook up fee
8 miles @ $ 5.50 per mile
$ 47 add’l because it is four wheel drive
$ 38 per day storage fee
$ 54 city permit fee
Here is where I have a problem
$ 178 hook up fee — They would charge me $ 55 if I called them at 2:30am to pick me up on the side of the road.
$ 5.50 per mile — high but whatever
$ 47 they wouldn’t charge — it is part of the hook up fee
$ 38 — Necessary — I get it
$ 54 city permit fee — for what?
$ 137 is what this should be — understandable
$ 55 hook up
$ 44 mileage
$ 38 storage
I do hope this is not something the City of San Diego or our PD negotiated on the behalf of the citizen’s. If so, I am concerned about our ability to negotiate.

These people are jackasses. I was visiting a friend and parked at a lot across the street. A small sign said parking was not allowed between 3−4am (the shopping mall owners are also jackasses for having such bizarre rules). I went to go move my car shortly after 3 and it was gone. Basically, they likely have a guy standing by waiting for it to be 3:01am so that they can steal your car and your money.
I had to pay $ 352 to get my car back. By the way, if you called them to tow your car voluntarily, it only costs $ 45.

So my situation sucks pretty bad. My transmission went out in my Cadillac Deville about 3 months ago. I used Wind n Sea Towing to tow my car to La Jolla Village Drive because it was very close to my apartment complex. There were no signs posted about street sweeping or parking or anything. About a month later, I ended up moving to Pacific Beach. I left my car parked in the same spot because the transmission was busted. I hoped to save atleast $ 1000 in order to fix it. I never received any notices or tickets for 3 months. Then today I found out my car was no longer parked there. Turns out it was towed on 7÷19÷10. Anytime Towing towed my car for a «72 hour» parking violation. After 8 days, they want to charge me $ 657 to get it out. I asked about a settlement and they offered to charge me $ 350 in order to take the car out of my hands. Otherwise my car would sit until it got auctioned and I would by placed in collections to pay back the remaining balance. So I feel really screwed by this company. I’m considering talking to a laywer, but my car is only worth about $ 1500. But without the transmission, my car is pretty useless. Although the «72 hour parking law» is legit, I still feel like I got scammed.

These F@*kers towed my car and threw my stuff out without contacting me. 1^st, I didn’t have current registration cause I didn’t want to pay for it twice. I just moved to Cali and just found a place to stay, so after 2 weeks of living there, I went out only to findout that my car was towed by this company. The Fees are so astronomical that I couldn’t afford to get my car out. When I asked about retrieving my personal effects within the vehicle, they told me I needed current registration, which means, I needed to get NEW insurance, go to DMV, get NEW registration AND pay them $ 47 to get my stuff out of my car, well I recently contacted them and my car went up on the auction block and my tools, CD’s and other stuff was just simply thrown out. Interesting cause if I worked there, honestly, I would have taken some tools and fished thru the cd’s to see if there was anything I wanted and so on… I’m working with the city to get restitution.

Has anyone else had their car towed for expired registration where no police officer is involved? My son’s car was towed yesterday by Anytime Towing in Miramar (he lives in Univ City area) and we THINK it was just a tow truck driving around looking for exp reg’s to tow to make money off the towing and storage. He had JUST gotten it back the eve before from being repaired after it had been sitting for six months while he saved up for the repairs, got home 10pm, went out at 8am the next morn to drive to the DMV to renew the registration and poof, it was gone. He thought it had been stolen but when he called the police they told him it was at the tow yard in Miramar so He had to bus it to DMV to get the reg squared away, then up to Miramar and pay over $ 300 in fees. Isn’t that supposed to be illegal? Has any one else had this happen?
