A&M Animal Control

Aaron and his dog were great! I called a number of companies on Sunday and Aaron was the only one to call back. He gave me a one hour window for arrival and an estimate over the phone. He was a half hour early and within a minute, his trusty dog had already found one of the two dead rats under the house that were stinking up the place. He even crawled under the house, in the mud! I would highly recommend A& M Animal Control!

A skunk was a real nuisance in my backyard. My dogs got sprayed a number of times and would bark at night wanting to get out to the skunk. If your dog has been skunked before, you know how hard it is to get rid of that smell.
My dogs also barked furiously at a possum that liked to walk my back fence. Those things are ugly! I never knew what would happen when I let my dogs out at night before bed.
I called Aaron with A&M and he came and set a trap. A few days later, a possum was caught. He took it away and left another trap. After a good wait, the skunk finally walked into the trap! Aaron took that away and left another trap. Another possum was caught.
I told Aaron I thought I had done enough trapping, so he took the trap away and said I could call him if I suspected any more activity.
One morning about a week later, my dogs were barking at the area underneath my back deck steps. I called Aaron who was at my house in 20 minutes. He sealed all the open areas around my stairs with temporary things he found around the yard and put the cage at the opening and got my garden hose and started spraying at the stairs. Didn’t take long before the skunk ran into the trap, after leaving a lovely spray under my steps! Aaron took that skunk away and we set up a time for him to come and permanently seal off the area under the deck steps to keep the skunks out.
I highly recommend Aaron. He’s competent, friendly and worth the money to get rid of skunks, possums and whatever else is tormenting you!

Aaron is a lifesaver. Stuck around late to remove an extremely stubborn and sick skunk under my house. Recommended to anyone in SD with rodent issues. Polite, professional and effective.

Aaron is the man. I don’t know how he does what he does, but he went under my house, found a dying skunk, and removed it humanely. Was a pretty gnarly experience for me, but it was all in a days work for him. He returned my call on a Sunday, came on a Monday, and was done in about an hour or so. He’s coming back to animal proof my crawlspace entries. Totally reasonable prices as well, and is super down to earth. Plus, his dog grim is awesome. Would recommend 150%.

Called due to finally having enough of the raccoon issue when they started coming in the house. He was to come the next day. He showed up hours after he said he would, put cages in not the best spots, but I figured he knew what he was doing. 1 cage did catch one. But the others were still getting in or trying to get in my house. He moved one cage that was activated 2c without catching anything. I finally called saying I would get someone else and he assured me he’d get under the house, reset the traps and help me with the issue. Week later still have the raccoons and see he came and took his traps — no word, nor call. Huge Waste of money for 1 critter — he’s so unhelpful and doesn’t care. He had the opportunity to make money on catching at least 3 more. Awful.

Called them at 10 on Saturday night when I opened a hall closet and had rats jump out. The plus side is they picked up late on a weekend that is a holiday weekend. He said he was up north and it would take him until midnight to arrive so better to do it in the morning. I had barricaded the rats in the closet as best I could. He said his solution was going to be to «throw his little dog in the closet with the rat and after a bit of noise the job would be done»…with limited blood. I feel awful about killing another creature in general but I knew there wasn’t a lot of options here. We scheduled him to come between 9 and 10 Sunday morning. 10 rolled around and no one. I messaged him to check in and he said he was still 30 – 40 minutes away. I wrote back that I was supposed to leave at 11 for plans and how long did he think he needed so I could plan. No response. I waited until 10:30…10:40…11. I called no answer. I messaged at 11;30 that we were still waiting at the house and asked for an ETA. No answer. Great that they were willing to come out on a holiday weekend but horrible service in that they don’t actually come… or tell you they’re running late until you ask… or get back to you to say they’re not coming at all. Awful.

We had an animal that died under our deck in Mission Hills and was emitting a terrible odor.
I called Aaron based on his good reviews on Unilocal,he answered his phone immediately and was here in 20 minutes. He climbed under the deck and removed a dead raccoon, problem solved!

I had set a trap thinking I had a possum under the house that had ate it’s way through a soffit. Much to my surprise, I woke up with a skunk in the trap. I did not have a Plan B for a skunk. I called Aaron and he came right out. He coaxed the skunk out of our trap and into his and was out the door in under ½ an hour. He advised me on making sure there were no other skunks under the house and we discussed sealing off the house to keep future would be residents out of the crawl space. I’m very happy with the service.

Well the majority of the days they are 24hrs, but yesterday April 11^th– 12^th, I guess they were not. I called a little after midnight because I had trapped a mouse in my dresser drawer and I needed someone to come get it. Since they were 24 hours I was super happy about that. I left a message because no one picked up. So I called again around 5am (after all it’s a 24 hour business) and Aaron picked up. I told him what my issue was and he told me that no one was available because it was his bday and he and his staff went out and partied it up for his bday, so naturally it would not be safe for them to be on the road. So he said that he could give me an appointment time between 9am– 10am. He gave me the cost and I agreed. It is now 11:17am and he’s not here. I called him and I got the voicemail so I left a message. That poor mouse has been in a drawer for 11 hours now. Why would you have a 24 hour service and then allow everyone to party it up, so there is no one available to work? Who does that? If anything, you do half and half, so your business is covered. Highly unprofessional and horrible judgment call. Being military, I certainly love to get my social on, but I make sure that I am right as rain to work the next day and I make sure that I get to where I am going early because its my reputation that I am maintaining. Really disappointed. I really needed their assistance and was let down. UNSAT and FUBAR.

Aaron saved us from an evasive lizard that wanted to take up residence in our condo. He was timely and professional, and we could not have been more grateful. Thanks Aaron!!!

I used A&M to remove skunks that had made a home underneath my house. Aaron, the owner, was great. He took the time to discuss the problems and solutions available. He was prompt and professional, and knew what he was talking about. He trapped the skunks and sealed the house from being accessible to other creatures. And his prices were considerably cheaper than other quotes I received from other like businesses. I would for sure use again or recommend to a friend, but hopefully I won’t be needing his service anymore.

Aaron came out with his dog and determined I had gopher (s) digging up my yard. He checked out various spots to determine what area it/​they currently were. He put his trap in Wednesday and came back Friday. The trap was gone. Apparently another animal, raccoon/​opossum, noticed the dead gopher and ate it taking the trap somewhere. Since there was no dead animal to show me, Aaron didn’t charge me for the animal. I was only charged for the initial setup. Very fair. Great guy. Great dog too!

Our Pomeranian got sprayed by a skunk one morning so my husband called A&M. Aaron came out the same day & informed us that the skunk may have made its home under our shed because he noticed holed. He set a trap with no bait. Sure enough, the next morning the skunk was caught. Aaron came out to pick up the trap & gave us advice on how we can prevent future unwanted residents from getting in. He was very nice, courteous & even showed my 4 yr old son the skunk. I highly recommend them & would use them again in the future.

Aaron was quick to arrive, efficient at removal of the nesting opossum & even offered to put up some netting to ensure no more critters get in. Highly recommend!

I found the owner of this company (Aaron) to be respectful and transparent. He followed the laws and listened to all my issues. He did not charge me for the initial visit. He was gracious and knowledgeable. Professional and helpful.
I don’t understand the crazy people worried about coyotes that have overpopulated the areas and are killing pets and invading yards like cockroaches. I was an animal lover but enough is enough… when your pet is killed ten feet from your door, lets talk. Until then I hope it will be open game to rid the city of roaming coyotes looking for an easy meal (pets).

All this and a fun and interesting person who knows his stuff, and better yet, your stuff when it comes to visitng skunks and how they get in. And getting them out. Thanks Aaron, the next time we become a resort for critters, we are calling you.

A&M came out to handle a racoon & possum problem I was having. They were by far the best service I’ve hired over the last 10+ years. I keep getting racoon’s because my stupid neighbors feed these wild animals. These idiots have no idea how destructive these animals are, they’ve torn up my roof & attic, so I was going to poison them. Aaron talked me out of it saying they should be saved if possible.
Aaron trapped & removed a family of racoons and a large possum living in a palm tree, quickly and safely. He’s extremely efficent, the lowest cost I’ve seen and he’s a great guy to deal. AAA+++ service. Thanks.

I live in an apartment and after an ongoing issue with other failed control attempts my property manager called in A&M and I am so glad they did. Aaron was very quick to respond and very attentive to the situation. He listened to all my concerns and stayed in touch with us. His approach to containing the raccoons was much better than the previous control company who simply left a small trap and did not check it for 2 days. Animal control is a highly regulated and sensitive issues that not everyone can do, I highly recommend A&M for their professionalism and knowledge.

This was my first experience with skunks invading my space and spraying my dog. Aaron at A & M was great and very empathetic to my situation. He responded quickly and was on time for our Intro meeting and he came by every morning to check the traps just like he said he would. I feel the price is very fair for the excellent service they do at A & M and I would absolutely recommend them. Overall, Very knowledgeable, professional and helpful to prevent further skunk infestation also.
