CG Appliance Express

We where in the market for new appliances, so after some Unilocal searching we decided to give CG Appliance Express a try. Many excellent reviews, and a sense that customer care is a top priority. When we spoke with Simon, he was very knowledgeable and helpful. We kind a knew what we wanted, but it was good to be able to discuss pros and cons.
We ended up buying what we had originally looked for. The appointment for installation was within a very reasonable timeframe. Delivery was on time with great communication, and the installation was done perfectly. No hassle, excellent workmanship and very quick. The installers where very considerate and nice, and we now enjoy our new cooktop and dishwasher.
When additional appliances are due for renewal we will definitively come back. This was a great experience.

With many available places to buy appliances on the Peninsula, my wife and I were very fortunate to find George Russ at CG Appliance. George went above and beyond to not only meet our needs for kitchen appliances for our house renovation, but to guide us through the many choices available with sound, practical advice. His prices are fair, his product knowledge is excellent, and, very important to us, his customer service is great. I had been in to the store a few times with questions or just to look around, and each time Simon was there with a smile and answers. He was so nice and helpful every time that I really wanted to buy something from him. I’d been to other high-​end appliance dealers and they were very snooty and dismissive and unhelpful. They even just flat out ignore you if you’re not dressed up or don’t look like you reek of money! After doing lots of research, I found that no one could beat their prices, so I called him up and told him what I wanted. I got a deal on buying a Miele cooktop and a Zephyr hood at the same time, and they took my cc payment over the phone. Simon was really helpful, and about a week later I got a paper confirmation of sale in the mail. Since I didn’t need the appliances right away, they delayed shipment. My hood came yesterday and the delivery people called the day before to let me know what time window they would show up. From 12 – 2. Then they called again at about 1:30 on the day of the delivery to let me know they would be there in about 15 minutes. Everything has so far gone off without a hitch. I will be having Miele deliver and install the cooktop themselves when the time is right. This place sells high-​end kitchen appliances and if you can get what you want cheaper at Sears, that’s great, but I don’t think anyone can beat Simon and his prices for high-​end items.

This review is a bit overdue for Simon and CG Appliance in San Carlos. Excellent customer service from Simon the whole way. Have no problem endorsing them to anyone I know. Matter of fact, have told people to go see Simon already!

I have a long overdue review for Simon and CG Appliance Express — we were in the market for a Thermador package (oven, fridge, dishwasher, range, hood) — given that Thermador has UMD pricing, working with an appliance store came down to service, reputation, knowledge of sales person, and, follow through. We found Simon at CG Appliance in San Carlos a pleasure to work with — he worked closely with us to firm up the appropriate package and even advised us on some changes to ensure we had the functionality that we wanted on the range hood. Our experience with Simon was world class — there was something that arrived late from the distributor which could not be delivered with the appliances, so, he actually drove that over to our place personally! Believe the reviews you see here — Simon and CG are excellent to work with. They do much more than Thermador — but that is the brand we honed in on.

This review is overdue. I called CG Appliance in late August when I was looking for new appliances for my kitchen. I was 1 week in on a 5 week remodel, and I had been making calls to all of the «usual suspects» to price compare and check the upcoming Labor Day ads. Had I not read the Unilocal reviews, I would not have called CG, figuring that a smaller shop in San Carlos could never come close to the Lowe’s and Best Buy giants in price… I was wrong.
I spoke to George on the phone, and right from the start, I was receiving the kind of customer service that the «big guys» have never mastered. He got all of the info from me, said he would make some calls on the models I was looking for and get back to me in a set time frame. And he did! He had prices, rebate info, and delivery timeframes for me. He actually beat the prices of every place I called on two items (Bosch Oven & Built-​In Convection Microwave). I was so impressed.
I headed into the showroom and with George’s guidance and patience, was able to find an AWESOME kitchen sink and the over range vent that I was still in need of. So, within 3 hours, from phone call to purchase, I had:
*Electric 5-​Burner Cooktop (Bosch) *Build-​in Conv. Microwave (Bosch)
*Built-​in Convection Oven (Bosch) *Ventilation Hood (Zephyr)
*Single Basin SS Sink (Franke)
On top of everything else, I was able to take advantage of a rebate that Bosch was offering; they do not allow the «big guys» to offer the rebate, so I came out even farther ahead. And the lead time on delivery… WAY less then the others. George never rushed me, was very knowledgeable, answered all of my questions and gave some helpful suggestions and guidance.
CG Appliance won in every category for me.
–Customer Service is untouchable by the others
–Prices are fair, competitive
–Offer MORE than the competitive big guys in options, rebates, service, product knowledge… all without ever making you feel rushed
–Selection is AWESOME!
–Delivery times were WAY more flexible to my needs
–George. They have George!
–Delivery was spot on, crew was great!
It is six months later, and I am happy to say that all went well with delivery; items were as promised and on time. WE LOVE our selections and I feel that having so much help ahead of purchase helped to ensure that we got the right items for what we wanted and needed. Zero buyer’s remorse. Total satisfaction.
I will use CG again and recommend them without hesitation.

Simon helped us a lot with brainstorming options for a full set of appliances + faucet and sink for our new kitchen. He then put a proposal together with some great prices. They accept credit card. The appliances were delivered in a timely fashion all at once to our apartment, which is much better then getting them piece by piece when ordered through different vendors. We are very happy with our experience with him, and would use his services again.

George did a fantastic job. We are switching from top-​loading coin-​op washers to front-​loading coin op washers and we spent on and off for about a week with our usual vendors we’ve bought coin ops from over the years and all they could get were top loaders.
So at the end of the week the tenants had been without a laundry facility for that long. We discovered Maytag sells a front loading coin-​op washer, called CG Appliance on Friday late afternoon, BAM new machines installed on Monday. Tenants smiled about it. Great job to George and his great installation crew who were very professional and fast with the install — CG is now our source for our apartment properties for our coin ops. Thanks George for being able to get the new washer and dryer to us so fast.

George was great, as was Simon was George was out. Helpful, informative, clear and direct with no pressure. Will be buying from them again.

George Russ was very helpful and professional. I can be a very picky person at times expecting to fine a competitive price on a good appliance with great service. George was able to meet my criteria. He returns emails and phone calls promptly and I am very happy with his appliance recommendations. I would recommend George Russ to family, friends, and anyone who asks for an appliance recommendation.

Walked in to look for a range. No one around. Walked to the back and one sales guy was talking to two people. So I decided to look around while the guy gets done with the other customer. The phone rings and the sales guy takes off to answer the phone. Walks by me without a word. Minutes later the other people leave and the sales guy gets on another phone call. They didn’t have anything I wanted and no one seem to care about me being there. Started to walk out and the sales guy finally says to me that he’ll get around to me in a bit. Too little to late. Guess they weren’t interested in my business. It’s ok, I can get the high end appliances from plenty of other stores around. Small store, limited selections on display. Thought of going to their other store to see if they have better selections on display but didn’t want to waste more time on these people.

CG Appliances were great for our Miele and Bosch purchases. George was very helpful and accommodating when we had scheduling issues and needed to hold off on getting the appliances delivered. Would highly recommended CG.

We have been in the process of remodeling our kitchen for over a year. The service at most of the showroom sucked until we met Simon. He answered all of our questions honestly, and was timely in all aspects of our agreement. Couldn’t be happier with my experiences here. Our kitchen looks fantastic. and more importantly we got what we needed.

George Russ did an excellent job in helping us from start to finish. He is very knowledgable and professional.
He helped us in purchasing the Thermador appliance set and the Franke farmhouse sink.
The communication is excellent as well. He returns our phone calls, emails and text messages.
George even replies and answers our questions on his day off.
We also had a minor accident and one of the small glass doors broke but George was on top of things in helping us to get that broken glass replaced.
I 100% recommend CG appliance and George Russ.
I also wanted to thank Simon for helping us answer our questions when George was out.

Just by luck we happened to come across CG appliances. I was planning to order my Miele appliances from a competitor closer to our home but their service won me over. Simon Joseph was a delight to work with. He answered all my questions and made the transaction as smooth as possible. We just received our appliances today and cannot wait to have them installed by our contractor. I will definitely refer friends and family to them. Thank you Simon!

I had my washer and dryer delivered on Saturday and I have to say the level of quality customer service is awesome. The guys that came to install and deliver were so polite, courteous and efficient. They were in and out in seeming no time (in contrast to the Comcast dude who took 5 hours to do hardly anything!)
I forgot to order the stacking kit so they are coming back to install it as soon as it arrives. I love the service, the washer and dryer rock and Chris was awesome. I can’t wait until I have an excuse to buy something else :)

AMAZING SERVICE!
I had been calling around, trying to replace a Gaggenau double oven that is 25 years old, which almost is impossible to change due to cabinetry in the kitchen. From the very first phone call with Simon, I knew I was talking to somebody that was willing to put in the time and effort to help out with this major issue of finding a specific size that could fit my space. Simon researched for me and found several different options. He then put in the time to drive out 1 hour away to Saratoga and take a look at this project. He was very knowledgeable, patient and kind. It continued for several days with numerous phone calls, emailing all the choices he was trying to find for me. A lot of extra time and effort on his busy schedule. We finally decided to try to fix this oven because replacing it was a big hassle. He even talked to the repair man and told him he would be happy if we could get it fixed for me. This was not about money for him. He honestly wanted the best solution for his client. As a business owner I know about service, and can appreciate when I see another business so competent in how they deal with the public. Thank you Simon and I hope that if in the near future I need any sort of appliance I know where to shop.

My architect referred me to George Russ @ CG appliances in San Carlos, CA. I had a 42 inch built-​in fridge that was 20 years old and needed to be replaced.
I had done some research on the internet and went to Airport Appliance — only to be underwhelmed by my limited choices and high price tag for built-​ins.
I went to see George — hoping he could better explain my options, have more choices, and make the decision process easier. And that’s exactly what happened.
He showed and explained to me all of my options — and clearly outlined the differences and trade-​offs between each. Choosing then became easy. George set up the delivery, installation, and haul away of my old fridge — and even moved up the delivery schedule to accommodate my needs. The delivery and installation was quick and efficient. These guys know what they are doing.
I will definitely purchase appliances from George again — he made the shopping and selection process easy, provided competitive pricing, and made the entire experience turnkey. Very happy customer.
BTW, I went with the stainless steel GE Monogram (over the Thermador). And I could not be happier. The fridge works beautifully, the layout of the shelves and drawers are just perfect, the lighting is great, and the climate control drawer is the BEST.

Was in the market for a wine fridge made by True — a standard in commercial restaurant refrigeration who have a new professional consumer line. C&G carried the line (unlike some other local appliance stores) and Simon was EXTREMELY responsive in getting me a quote, getting it ordered and delivered in a timely manner. I could contact him by phone, text or email — which made it really easy to do business with them. The fridge is awesome and I couldn’t be happier with the service I received.

My Bosch washing machine crapped out and I needed to replace it with the same model so it could stack with my old dryer. I heard about CG from the ads they’ve been running on cable TV. I wanted to support local business and they eluded to carrying Bosch in their ads. The kicker was mention of a low price guarantee.
From the start, the guy I was directed to talk acted like I didn’t know what I was talking about and was wasting his time. I went in with a specific model number I was looking for. He was absolutely sure that I had to get my dryer replaced as well because he was absolutely, positively sure that they were bolted together (which they aren’t — I checked later). I tried to get him to volunteer to send someone out to assess our needs, but he seemed convinced that he would never be able to sell anything to me anyway.
When I asked about the low price guarantee, he was even slimier. Apparently the guarantee only applies to «local» stores and not so much with any prices one can get online. It has something to do with 12 month warranties only being applicable for units sold through authorized distributors in the state. That’s understandable; he just explained it in an underhanded way.
So after pretty much begging to try to do business with them, I left empty handed. So its back to Davies in Redwood City for us.
