My small siding and painting contract with this company did not go well. They were supposed to start on a Wednesday, when they hadn’t shown up by late Thursday I called the Project Manager (PM) and he didn’t even know they weren’t on site. They showed up Friday morning, removed the old siding and got about half of the new siding installed. When I came home Friday after work, they had decided to leave all the siding/​debris from the job in a large pile in my front yard. I again called the PM told him this was unacceptable. The siding was completed by the next Tuesday when I came home; however, the PM assured me as a James Hardie preferred vendor they installed it the proper way with flashing instead of caulking. Well, the entire thing was caulked. Did the PM know about it? No, I had to call and let him know. They started reinstalling the proper way the next day. The painters showed up the day after, one of whom was afraid of heights and wouldn’t access the second floor of my house (as he said to my wife «f**k that, I don’t do heights», maybe you shouldn’t be a house painter then buddy! While all this is going on, the pallet of leftover siding material remained in my driveway, blocking my garage for nearly two weeks, and guess who had to call the PM to let him know it needed to be removed? When the work was nearing completion, I emailed the PM with a small four-​item punch list. Two were addressed the next day, but it wasn’t until I got the invoice two weeks later that I had to again contact the PM to let him know the punch list wasn’t complete and I wouldn’t be paying until it was taken care of. It was handled the next day. I was hoping for a discount based on all the mistakes with this job, but I didn’t automatically receive one, when I asked for them to review their service and get back to me, I received a $ 75 discount on a nearly $ 5,000 job. Wow a nearly 1% discount, thanks for nothing!
In the end, the product was satisfactory, but if you hire this company, be prepared to be your own PM!

We contacted J Forrest Construction to come out and look at the exterior siding of our home. We knew it needed to be replaced, but like most folks nowadays, we put it off knowing it was a big ticket item. Jeff called us right back and scheduled an appointment with us to come out and give us a bid. He was right on time, very honest and courteous. While examining our home he found some rotted wood underneath that would need to be replaced. We hired Jeff a few weeks later and couldn’t be happier with the service we were provided. The additional findings of the rotted wood could have been avoided if we didn’t neglect our home and put it off so long:(Live and learn, but bottom line, J Forrest Construction is awesome, will use them for all our contracting needs in the future! If you need a contractor in the Salem area, Jeff is your man! We could not be happier! Thanks again Jeff!

I recently met with J Forrest about their business here in Portland. I am so happy they are going to start servicing this area. Customer service is #1 and I am so thrilled them. JForrest Construction does an outstanding job on siding and window replacement. The job site is kept clean every day and their crew is professional all the way. He also does remodeling and I’ve seen the transformation first hand on some of the work they have done.
