I’ve always enjoyed Tom’s, however the grilled chicken sandwich was not a good choice. They were very accommodating and got me a roast beef which was just OK. Wish the food was a little better for prices.

Decent bar food. Drinks just ok. Moderately priced. Great sports bar to go to with friends, that’s about it. Nothing special.

Every weekday evening they have a good special going. My favorite is Wednesday for unlimited wings, trivia night is fun too. Great place, fits well in the Central West End!

I can only review the food as we had carry out for lunch. I had a black & bleu burger & wife had a Philly. We both had chips. My black & bleu was perfect. Large hamburger patty cooked perfectly as ordered. 2 large crispy bacon strips. All piled high with excellent bleu cheese. Not a dusting of cheese like a lot of places. All this on a great bun. Wife’s Philly was about 12″ long piled with meat & cheese. She claimed one of the best Philly’s she’s had.

I’d been here a couple of times before, once for trivia, but I went back on Saturday for my weekly dose of Cowboys torture. As far as places to plunk yourself down on a barstool and watch the game for three hours go, I like this place. As far as places to do that in the Central West End go, I LOVE this place, especially compared to the unbearable, impersonal din of the itap next door. The food’s pretty cheap, and I enjoyed both the bowl of chili and side of sweet potato fries I had. Tons of TVs, too. If I absolutely must be in the CWE come game time, Tom’s is my place. Maybe I’ll even go back for Saturday-night karaōke. Bonus: service is usually pretty quick, sometimes even friendly.

Lindsey and Lisa were amazing handling a table of 15 with little kids too. They were patient, timely and always had a smile. The food was just as incredible! Get the burger and the special Grouper sandwich was awesome. This place is a must visit!

Lunch the other day at Tom’s Bar and Grill was good. They have their own parking lot next to them so usually parking is no problem. We came at lunch time and literally got the last two seats. M got the steak salad and I got the chili Mac. M had gotten the steak salad the last time he was here and said it was so good he wanted it again. My chili Mac was good also. Instead of spaghetti noodles it was fettuccine which gave it a little more substance. Because it was so busy, we did wait awhile for our food, but since we had no place to go, that didn’t matter to us. Would I come back here? Yes I would.

These assholes share a parking lot and shove customers away from their neighbors. That is bad business. I hope they close.

Terrible service. We were greeted right away by a waitress who said another girl would be out waitress. After ten minutes she finally came up to take our order. We ordered blew cheese chips as an appetizer and a wrap and chicken spedini for dinner. I watched our appetizer sit in the service window for about 12 minutes before it was brought to our table,(keep in mind that our dinner was sitting in the service window also. After have our app come out soggy as could be our food got our table shortly after. My food was prepared wrong and the fries and broccoli were cold on our dinner plates. It was impossible to get our waitress over to us to take care of the problems. In her passing I mentioned my wrap was wrong and she did take it off the bill, but that really was the least of our problems. The the restaurant was not busy. It almost felt like she didn’t want to wait on us because we had our baby with us. We still tipped her, which a immediately regretted when we were leaving and our waitress looked at us and didn’t thank us for coming in. If you want terrible service on a slow night with cold food that died in the service window, this is your place.

Yowza! I was not expecting this place. I was looking for a hole in the wall to grab a drink and found so much more. The blue cheese chips were phenomenal enough that I couldn’t get a picture because I was stuffing them in my face hole too fast. Lisa, the amazing bartender, didn’t even make me feel bad as I unabashedly had my first foodgasm of the day. The steak and mushroom soup came out and, while not quite hitting the mark, was delicious. Then the seasonal Forrest Mushroom Burger. O. M. G. ½ pound burger with Brie, oyster and portabella mushrooms sautéed in port wine, garlic and herbs. Sploosh.

Buffalo chicken salad was very good. Surprisingly good, actually. I highly recommend it. The food and service was noticeably slow, but we will still be back to try some more yummy food. Definitely one to recommend, but not really a 5-star bar.

This is a good place to be with friends. It does get noisy very easily if you go at different times. Drinks are pretty good. The drinks aren’t overly priced, but they have cut back on the variety, which is sad. Food is reasonably priced. The food is also okay in flavor and good in proportions. However, I don’t like how greesy the food can be. It doesn’t help if you have a week stomach. Also, if it gets busy the service slows up really fast. It slows up so much so that you could be waiting for up to 20mins for drinks and food orders. I still think it’s a good spot, but there are some improvements that could be made to make this place better.

Burger and Chicken Philly were really good, and the slaw was great! Ate at an outside table, as the music inside was deafening — couldn’t have a convo. I get loud bar music, but I don’t want to scream to the person next to me. In any case, outside service was good, we never waited too long for anything, and our drinks stayed full. Not too sure what else they have going on, but for a beer & bite, I would go back if ever in this area of the country again!

Tom’s is a great place if you want a Cheers-ish Dive Bar in the Central West End. The fact that it is very close to the hospital and has it’s own free parking lot makes Toms a great place to go. Most of the reviews on here speak of going to Toms in a large group, but I have only ever been for drinks/happy hour with one other person. It is a dark, sports bar feel, and I have had two separate great experiences there. The drink specials are good and the burgers are fine. Their chicken wings are some of the best we’ve had in St. Louis and we have returned on Wednesday night for all you can eat wings for $ 12.99. It also comes with a large side of French fries. Overall, if you want a place you can hop in, have a few cold beers, and eat some high-quality bar food, Toms is a great place. I love a place I can walk in yoga pants and a t-shirt and not feel underdressed, so this place is good for me!

I thought it was practically impossible to screw up mozzarella sticks and pretzel bites but they managed to do it. First off, the pretzel bites were deep fried?! Who deep fries pretzels? Literally with grease dripping and the salt all melted and gooey. I sent them back and was appalled they charge $ 5.50. Disgusting. Secondly, the mozerella sticks were cold. They sprinkled Parmesan cheese on them but it fell off when you picked up the sticks. The marinara sauce was terrible, soupy and looked nothing like any marinara sauce I’ve ever come across. Disgusting. We had initially intended to order entrees but after terrible appetizers we just didn’t trust the quality of the kitchen. This place might have a decent atmosphere for an old bar and might be an ok place to come have a beer but avoid the food at all costs.
