The Tower at OPOP

So I’m still agreeing with my first review, but I just have to add something. The parking over the year was horrific. It wasn’t the fact that parking was a block away. That was annoying but not a big deal. It was the fact that I pay for a spot, with a number, that says reserved, that says if someone else parks there they’ll get booted or towed, and literally 25% of the time there was someone was parked in my spot. And you know what happens to them? Nothing. Not a thing. I would have people parked in my spot for a week, and no one, not the garage and not OPOP, would do anything. Nor would they refund my money that I paid for the parking spot. It was bad enough to negate all the positives about the place. I wouldn’t suggest to anyone moving here unless you’re completely ok with people going to Schnucks, the game, their friend’s house, parking and leaving you parkingless, and no one giving a … about it.

This place makes me feel ‘numb’ with comfort. The Tower is really exclusive and ahead of the class; in a different universe compared to the other apartment complexes downtown. I know quite a bit about the other places in downtown, and none can even light a candle to the Tower. The Tower is in an upper price bracket compared to other apartment buildings, but that keeps out the riff raff for sure I pay a considerable amount for rent, but it’s worth every penny. I was lucky to score the way high up units, and my view is stunning (see photos). I love to just veg and sit under the sun on my huge balcony. You get a view of all the gorgeous buildings around the city.
The tower is modern, elegant, clean, slick, and everything you can ask for in an urban dwelling environment. It is a pretty surreal feeling when you can get your car valet up to 5 times a month (which is more than enough). The one bedrooms average around 820 sq feet, which I think is perfect for young professionals without kids. The Tower is perfect for the silicon valley/​start up types like myself. Like a slice of San Fran/​NYC in the heart of St Louis. This makes a difference if you are not from St Louis.
Living here the past few months I have been so impressed and amazed. This place is everything I can ask for and ultimately my dream apartment. The gas burner oven has made such a difference from the usual electric stove set ups at other apartment complexes; especially for someone like me who LOVES to cook constantly. You have the farmers Market in Soulard not too far away, and I find that I’m cooking young duckling and things like rabbit to great satisfaction; the gas burner makes a difference believe me.
Michael and now, Melissa, are the building managers and they are so professional and amazing; so courteous to everyone. The maintenance team is solid, and fixes any issues real fast. The Tower even commissions a cleanup team to keep the lobbies clean at all times. They do such an amazing job. The location is so perfect. Not being on Wash Ave makes it so quiet. I sleep with my windows open and it’s so peaceful. Next year this part of downtown will be the hottest spot in the city since the Arcade apartments will be finished and the Laclede Building will open up for residential living. There are not too many spots left here at the Tower so please inquire within. The Tower is also so damn safe.
The only one complaint I have is the internet. The Wi Fi feed is very spotty; feels like I’m using AOL sometimes. Hopefully they can fix it. If you have any questions, let me know, I’d be more than happy to answer.

I feel like the Tower at OPOP has finally hit it’s stride. I’m so confident, that we just signed an 18 month lease to secure our rates. We have great neighbors, great staff and great amenities. You really can’t do better– even the new renovation (for which I shall not name) will fall short of the tower. We stuck through the growing pains and we are SO happy we did. Plus, Sauce on the Side in the building? Thank the lord there’s a state of the art gym to work that off!

I am writing my review from my room over looking the city right now. This is the coolest place! I know I will look back one day and think how great I had it is this apt. I walk to work and come home to a place with huge windows overlooking the old post office. The floor to ceiling windows give you so much energy when you wake up the morning you feel that you will take on the world! The walls are also made of concrete so you don’t hear neighbors at all. Highly recommend.

The Tower at OPOP aka The Roberts Tower was one of the best apartments we have ever lived in! It’s baller! If you want to live in downtown STL and don’t have children then you probably want to live here. One of the reasons I moved here was for the location since it was in walking distance to work and near so many restaurants and night life. The main reason I moved here was for the new, beautiful building and cool features. Moving from South County to Downtown was a big change since you’re not very near any Target’s, affordable grocery stores (Schnucks Culinaria is nice but different if you’re not used to it) or gas stations but for the most part we loved it. The management is SUPER friendly and always available to answer any concerns or requests with a smile! They are hard workers, too. :)
Since it just opened last May (I think) not even half of the building was occupied when we moved in August. Only one other apartment on our floor was occupied so it was super quiet, too. Apparently there was someone above us but we never heard them since the ceilings are high and appeared to be made with concrete. The only thing noisy is the all day construction going on at the big building one block up that is a future campus of Webster University. I think once that opens then downtown will get a lot busier as well as The Tower since it is perfect for students since they are all pet friendly one bedroom units (pricey, though). As far as getting around The Tower, it was very fast and easy. There are two elevators and they were normally quick. Since everything is new the building is very clean but Management hired a cleaning company to come in daily and keep everything spotless. They also have a Starbucks coffee machine by the elevators for residents and guests to enjoy all the free coffee and hot coco they want. That alone is like $ 5 a day for some people lol. The gym is amazing and located on the 24^th floor (top) so you get a nice view of the north side of St. Louis. Next to the gym is the club house which is two floors with floor to ceiling windows and plenty of nice couches/​chairs, a pool table, two bars, flat screen t.v.‘s with cable, fireplaces, and patio’s with BBQ pits. Resident’s are welcome enjoy the amenities 24 hours a day as long as they don’t try to throw parties without reserving it. I think they had a little problem with that but it was quickly resolved since they have security cameras. Which leads me to overall building security. it’s good because every door is locked unless you have a key fob to unlock it. When you enter the main door you need your key fob to open it and if you forget it, they have an intercom thing to the left and you can use it to call your cell phone and unlock the door with your phone. Pretty sweet! There is also another door you have to go through that requires a fob to get to the elevators. An additional security bonus is The Magnolia Hotel connects to the building so when you are coming and going late at night there are always valet guys outside keeping a watch on everything.
The only negative things I can say about living here is the homeless people always chilling in your front yard ALL DAY and using the electrical outlets to play on their laptops and cell phones. The police aren’t the best at keeping them away, either.
AND parking sucks. But you should expect that living anywhere downtown. The residents use the same garage as the Schnucks across the street on the corner so it’s a walk and customers usually park in your spot.
Also, the studio is pretty small and for the price you should just go with the one bedroom bigger then that because the studio bedroom is so small. If you are single, it’s not bad but not for two people. Everything is so new and modern it’s impossible not to fall in love with this place.
Overall we absolutely loved it and would have stayed but had to move out of state for job reasons and were actually able to sub lease our apartment very quickly and easily. So sad not having Jenni and Michael as property managers anymore because they are seriously the best any one could ask for!
