Bring your dog(they want you to) he/she will love chasing balls into the water. Trust me. My Boston Terrier(who visits with us from NY) wishes he could stay in STL if not only for this luxury everyday. Internet access is a bonus.

Old Post Office is a beautiful architectural landmark encompassing an entire block. It reminds me of touring the Old Post in Washington D.C. Across the street in the plaza, you can find a sculpture of a giant hollow torso. It had me wondering if it was related to the hollow head at Citygarden. Right by the 8th and Pine MetroLink stop, the Old Post Office is worth seeing if you’re visiting Downtown.

Old Post Office is a great space in downtown. Great for Frontyard Feature movies, summer concerts and anything downtown wants to do in its open wide concrete space. Right near Culinaria, it’s in the best possible spot for picking up something to nosh on then head over for whatever festivites are underway. Done!

I’ve been spending quite a bit of time this summer at Old Post Office Plaza — such a great spot downtown! If you haven’t been there yet, it’s located at Locust and 9th, right by Culinaria ad(duh!) the restored Post Office, which is now office space. So far, I’ve been down here for the Thursday night Farmers’ Market as well as a few evening concerts. Both activities were free, too! This is also a cute little area to grab a bite to eat, either at Culinaria or another downtown restaurant, and have an urban picnic. There is plenty of seating as well as a fountain and pretty statue to admire. It’s not nearly as crowded at CityGarden but equally as cool. If you haven’t had a chance to discover it yet or didn’t know it existed, definitely check out Post Office Plaza downtown. Tres cool!

My morning: grabbed a latte from Kaldi’s in Culinaria and walked the half block to Old Post Office Plaza. Perched on a stone bench in the shade of a leafy tree listening to water fall and reading my book. Serene urban oasis.
