Telle Tire & Auto Service

I brought my car in after it turned off at a red light. After inspecting it, I was told they couldn’t find anything wrong and that everything was working well. They had the opportunity to make up and issue, but they were honest. And more than that, they waived all fees. I’m a fan for life!

I received excellent service, Doug was very helpful and informative in explaining the repairs!

Had a bent rim that I couldn’t hammer out completely myself without removing the tire. Went to a different tire place and they told me to just keep doing it myself otherwise they’d sell me a new wheel. Telle was very friendly, accepted my tire, and had completed the work within 30 minutes for 25 bucks. Congrats, you have a new lifelong customer!

I choose Telle for all of my tire and service needs. They are honest people who are very upfront about what is going on with your vehicle. They also back their work– they repaired something on my car that began having issues only months later and they fixed it again for free, no questions asked. They offer a free shuttle if you don’t want to wait, and their waiting area is comfortable and inviting. I recommend them to anyone who needs an honest mechanic!

I was sent away, told Telle could not fix my alignment. I wish they had been able to tell me this the first visit, not the follow-​up, after bringing my car back with another small repair. (Which I had my mechanic do, because his quote on the work was significantly less than what Telle would have charged.) I am disappointed and not only did I spend money on the alignment which never happened, I also lost over 5 hours of time.

Friendly service, fair prices, nice interior and complimentary shuttle service (M-​F only). Something they found wrong with my vehicle was a little beyond there scope of service, so they didn’t charge me for the analysis. Great customer service from the phone call to the payment.

I called around and received quotes for 4 new tires for my small pick-​up. Prices at Telle Tires couldn’t be beat. They were friendly over the phone and in person. I didn’t want to wait so I dropped my truck off. It’s best to do it this way, as they are generally very busy. If you want to wait for your vehicle, this might not be the best place for you. I say good things about this place and would use them again. Thank you!

The wife has gotten the run around at so many service shops that she’s pessimistic any time she has to take her car in. But we went to Telle a few months back and she was comfortable there. They seem to be upfront but not pushy. She took her car in on a Saturday morning for an oil change and tire rotation. She came home happy and pleased with the work.
There was an audible difference with the car after the work, but I think that’s due to the rotation.
One drawback is that this place is busy. You’re not going to be in and out. You’ll need to schedule an appointment and be prepared to just drop off your car.

Telle Tire has been my go-​to spot for auto service ever since moving to St. Louis. Every time I go there, I’m impressed by their friendliness, their quick turnaround, and their willingness to help out a customer in need. Telle Tire is a great local business, and people looking to find a great place for auto repairs should look no further. You won’t find service like this anywhere else.

Great service, comfortable waiting room, free shuttle. So far, their work is holding up as well. However, if you’re looking for somewhere cheaper than the dealership, this is NOT the place to go. I’m not sure what the going rate is nowadays, but $ 105/​hour seems a bit high doesn’t it? Diagnostic + new O2 sensor = $ 400.

I have recently realized the importance of supporting local businesses. One of the first places I began frequenting to show my support was Telle Tire & Auto Service. I have been there four times now and couldn’t be happier!
I have visited for replacing tires three times and getting my alignment changed once. They are fantastic about fitting your needs in at the last minute and I have always gotten in either the day I called or the next morning. Their mechanics are all well-​versed in every aspect of car maintenance and you can tell.
The first time I went, I needed two new tires for my Mini. They had them ordered and ready to be attached within one day and I got a pretty great price. The second time I went in for a flat tire. They replaced it with a discount from the warranty (a pleasant surprise) and let me know that due to the worn treads on my fairly new tires that my alignment was most likely off. So I made an appointment and had that taken care of. The last time I visited was for another flat (bad luck, I know!) which was fixed promptly and with friendly service.
I know that there are places that are cheaper, but I would rather support a local business like Telle. And when it comes down to it, the price differences are less important when it comes to receiving the quality service you receive here.

I fretted for weeks trying to find a place to buy tires. Once I found Telle Tire online and read the reviews on Google, Yahoo, and Unilocal I went there with great expectations. Matt helped me at the Big Bend store. They had a great tire at a very fair price for my Subaru, although the size was not in stock. I let them order the tires and sent my wife in for the install since I would be at work. They treated her as nicely as they treated me, and the work was done quickly and at the price I was quoted. He even gave me the $ 15 off on the alignment without the coupon. Since I need tires for my other Subaru immediately, I’ll be calling up Matt and ordering one more of the same.

My husband and I have had a few different things done to both of our cars at Telle Tire and we always walk away feeling satisfied, as satisfied as you can feel after dealing with car drama and shelling out unexpected large sums of money for said car dram. BUT we all know how that feels.
We are always treated with respect, the lobby/​waiting area is clean, I never feel like I’m being lied to– all the great simple things you want out of an auto service business!
I will be back to Telle within the next month, so I hope to have another positive update for my review!

I had a service performed Telle that I had performed before other car shops out of state. Telle charged me $ 130 whereas the out of state places charged $ 55 – 85. Now I understand cost of living adjustments and all, but come on. The bulk of the cost Telle had built in was «labor» which took ~1 hr. I left feeling they were trying to rip me off. I won’t be back.

Telle Tire has been my go-​to spot for all auto mechanic related stuff, mainly because I live nearby. I’ve gotten tires, brake jobs, alignments, maintenance, oil changes, you name it. Their prices have always been reasonable.
This is an established business that’s been around for a while, and the people who work here are courteous and professional. I’ve never felt like they’re trying to rip me off (maybe I’m just lucky) or push me into getting additional work done. When I got a brake job, I was able to bring in my own pads and rotors, and they installed them for me.
I did have one negative experience where I got an alignment done but I didn’t notice any difference. I called them a couple days later and they were able to see me right away and fix the problem at no additional cost.
The waiting room is nice, they’ve got couches and People magazines to flip through. I wish they were open a little later than 5:30pm on weekdays. However they recently started to have Saturday hours from 8am-​1pm. If you’re looking for a decent mechanic in the Clayton/​Richmond Heights area, Telle is worth checking out. Make sure to call ahead for an appointment.
