Was awful just waited in line ten minutes for no cars to move only three cars in line waiting at order screen. Then decided i would just go inside and doors locked at 930 when the say open till ten. Last time i will ever go to this location. TERRIBLESERVICE.

I’m not sure why I keep going to Steak n Shake in general. The wait times for just a single shake are just ridiculous. The customer service at the front counters is seriously lacking. While a manager counted a drawer, the line of people waiting to pay or waiting to order grew to 10 long. Possibly understaffed? Once my order was taken, there was no apology for the wait, so I’m not sure if they are oblivious to the problem, or just don’t care. My shake took about 10 minutes to prepare. Upon delivery the cup was covered in ice cream. He seemed annoyed I asked for a napkin… I want to say I wont go back to Steak n Shake since the service is terrible, but sometimes you just need a shake in the middle of the afternoon.

I grew up in St Louis and love Steak’n’Shake. It’s a shame all the people who love it as well don’t review this place to give it the rating it deserves. On my latest trip to St Louis, we got the Prince Royale Steakburger and it was excellent. Their shakes are amazing as well. However, they will give you a mix unless you request and a pay a little more for real ice cream. Their fries are probably my least favorite due to the fact that they get cold fast. So eat them quick, and you’ll be able to appreciate their uniqueness.

It’d give it zero stars if I could do it. This place is ridiculously slow for barely mediocre food and the workers are beyond incompetent. NEVERMAKETHEMISTAKEOFGETTINGSTUCKINTHEDRIVETHRU!

Food was as mediocre to bad. Waited 25 minutes to get half of the food we ordered & shorted on the food we expected(see photo). Management should be ashamed of themselves for forcing one staff member to handle all the business of an entire restaurant. If the owner of this business had any integrity or humanity they would close the doors and start over like a human being who had any semblance of decency.

Slow drive thru service. Took over 20 minutes to get through the line. Mediocre food for such a long wait.

I have been waiting to be served since i got here and it’s not busy but for some reason it’s taking forever to get some one to even take you drink order. There’s about four tables and still they are slow. But maybe it’s just new people or they just don’t know how to handle a slow rush

Pretty decent. I’d give 3.5 stars, where 3 is A-OK on the Unilocal scale. As some other reviewers have stated, the wait can be a bit long, especially if it’s busy(both drive thru and dine in). I did notice during one visit they were horribly understaffed with 1 person to wait and bus tables for the packed restaurant. I must commend her for doing her best to get orders out as quickly as possible given the understaffing. She was apologetic for the wait(this always helps score points). I have not had any issues with incorrect orders during my visits. I have visited a couple times for breakfast. Most of my visits are at night, with numerous late night orders at the drive thru. Aside from the wait, I’m a fan.

Their food is so delicious and at a super reasonable price. Under $ 5 for a burger and fries. And on the weekend kids eat free with am $ 8 purchase. My hubby had the Nacho Burger and absolutely loved it. And he never says that. Usually it’s a head nod saying it’s ok or whatever. I has the garlic double burger. Yum yum. I sure wish we had them in California.

Every since Steak N Shake redid their menus I am slowly departing from them. This location was good, service was alright, had to wait awhile for food and place was not that busy.

Chili Deluxe, and a SNS Patty Melt. My arteries are probably a little harder because of these. But ERMAGERD! So yummy. They have an assortment of delicious hand dipped milkshakes. The classic chocolate is my favorite should I decide to partake. This is pretty short, I don’t know if it even qualifies as a review. But if you’ve never been, go to a Steak N’ Shake soon. It tastes like happy.

This is not my typical Steak ‘n Shake, I’m usually a Hampton location boy. However, this morning we thought we’d change it up. It wasn’t bad, but I think I need to stay with my regular location up on Hampton. Our server was friendly and attentive. We were fairly early and as the restaurant filled up you could see the community camaraderie. So many of the diners all knew each other and our server would greet them by name. Even with this being our first visit, we still received the same quality of service as her regulars. The grill-man did a great job on preparing our eggs over easy and making our Hash Browns extra crispy. I always request crispy HB’s, my taste-buds just like them better. The SO’s side of pancakes were evenly golden in color and his patty sausage were Jimmy Dean good. I have mixed feelings on two of my sides. My bacon appeared to have been fried in advance and waiting for an order. It was chilled and chewy. The biscuit was dry, but when combined with the thick sausage milk crazy it was enjoyable. However, if it were a moist flaky biscuit, it would get two thumbs up from this pudgy ex-farm boy. Overall, a good visit for a inexpensive breakfast.

Steak n Shake is most definitely a give and take kind of restaurant, with visits ranging from mmm that was delicious to omg what was I thinking coming here. I’ve had problems in the past with this location so returning to eat there tonight, I really had my reservations. It was busy, and it looked as though they were short handed on help, it did take the waitress a little longer than need be to get to the table, so immediately I had my assumptions in gear planning on this being a long wait to get served. I was quickly put to ease when she did arrive at the table, and took the order. I ordered my usual of a steakburger plain, and a side of fries, and a cup of chili, all was brought out quickly and all surpassed my expectations! Steak N Shake satisfyingly redeemed itself… this time anyway.

I went for breakfast. Ordered the«Perfect Start Oatmeal» for $ 2.49. I appreciated that it was served as a oatmeal with packets of fruit and nuts on the side. I’m guessing the instant oatmeal came straight out of a packet. Their site states they use Quaker Oats brown sugar variety. Overall, it was a good and healthy breakfast. If you are hungry, I’d definitely recommend getting something to supplement the oatmeal. It’s not that big of a meal. It is a bit pricey for what you get, but overall the menu items are relatively cheap. I’m sure that I will return to Steak and Shake in the future and try other selections.

It’s Steak ‘n’ Shake. If you haven’t tried their food, then let me halps you from that rock you’s living under. So I’m not gonna review the food like I would every other restaurant. I had to wait a little longer(«Just pull over to that big shake sign and it will be out nice and fresh for you in about four and a half minutes!») but I didn’t even care that it was actually more than four and a half minutes because it was certainly fresh, and delicious. And the kid at the window was super bubbly. I like bubbly at 3 in the morning. It just makes me enjoy life. It’s like, why NOT be friendly and corny just because it’s at an incredibly strange and somewhat dangerous hour here at Kingshighway and Chippewa? Life’s too short to be crabby! I don’t even really like Steak ‘n’ Shake… I only went here because McDonalds pissed me off a lotta bit… but I’ll probably be back when I need my occasional dose of night shifter weight gain.

UHM why don’t we have this on the west coast? Man, those patty melts and frisco melts are good. Plus the shakes taste super fresh and not at all syrup-y and artificial! Oh well. We get In-n-Out, you get Steak n Shake I guess!(I win.)

Steak n Shake is generally very delicious and if you want at late night snack or some greasy, inexpensive food, definitely come here. This particular Steak n Shake is fairly new, so their décor is not as dirty as some of their older restaurants. So a big plus there. Had a good experience as well with the waitress — she was friendly enough, and even re-filled water. I always come to Steak n Shake whenever I visit St. Louis — it’s so nostalgic, and they haven’t let me down.
