You pull up, the Lady says, HOLDON, after a few minutes, she ask’s what you want, ½ way into order she puts you on hold again, then asks you to repeat your order, not once, but twice. There is nobody else in line, Seems this only happens when this older black lady is working the window, slow, poor service, or is it a black & white problerm. All the other workers are great, never a problem. I have sat many times behind 1 car at window, while this lady talks 5 minutes talking to them, after she has given them their order. She knows im next, I feel she gets off on screwing with me. Sometimes, I get my order and the food is almost room temp, I have seen many times when the 1 or 2 cars behind me, drive off, and eat elsewhere. And guess who’s working the window. I see they just throw the ice scoop down anywhere, It is to be placed in a holder to keep the grip dry. Health Violation. Others in my neighborhood have voiced this same topic, on taking forever to get through the drive through.

I am borderline embarrassed to be writing this review for a fast food fried chicken place. I tend to pride myself on the fact that I eat healthy and don’t eat fried food. However, I have caved a time or two… And when I do— it’s all because of Lee’s! I am from the deep, Deep South(think: Honey Boo Booland) where everyone knows how to fry up chicken(egg, buttermilk, flour, salt and pepper). I had never heard of Lee’s before moving to Missouri– but let me tell you, they do their chicken right! The prices are very reasonable and I am always impressed by the quality of workers. They all seem to have pleasant demeanors. If your in the mood for a high fat, artery clogging meal– I recommend Lee’s for that!

Lee’s may be a chain, but they offer up some good friend chicken. My favorite is their crispy and I always order the Breast Meal. It includes one very large breast, with a biscuit and as my sides I choose mashed potatoes with brown gravy(they give you a choice here) and cole slaw. For a beverage, I always go with their Sweet Iced Tea. It is done in a true Southern style. My advice to you is do not turn your nose up at Lee’s because it is a chain. Give them a chance, they do chicken right. This location is always extremely clean and the staff is courteous and friendly. I never do fried chicken at home, it is the one meal I always let someone else make.

Food was good, but I was really amazed at how nice the people were. Both ladies had a smile and they were extremely personable. One even came over to my table and asked if I wanted a refill on my drink. Blew my mind!!!

So they famous for chicken huh… But I will pass on the chicken! Lee’s is a great place to get a country fried steak dinner with biscuit and gravy. That’s what I get each time I visit. Oh I love the sweet tea by the gallon and the apple turnovers because you can get 2 for 99 cents and they are the bees knees. Now they deep fry the country fried steak and its so good I wonder why Lee’s is not famous for the country fried steak because its the best in the business.

Well I love Lee’s so I decided to stop and try this location. The employees were very nice and got my food ready very quickly. But I got home to find the smallest leg I have ever seen in my family’s box and the chicken was a little on the soggy side.(Photo posted) Unfortunately this turned me off this location. I will go back to my old location now.

I saw Steven’s review yesterday and had a hankerin’ for fried chicken so I gave this place a try. We ordered several different pieces, 2 sides and a couple of bisquit’s. I also got a sweet iced tea to go. OMG! This ice tea is the best!!! After gulping a few sips of that mighty fine tea, I ran back in and got the gallon size. Man, that is some good stuff!!! Chicken was OK, sides were good but that ice tea was GREAT!

Lee’s is definitely my choice of places to go for fried chicken, and it’s been this way for quite a while. while it isn’t the greatest, they do offer good tasting chicken at an affordable price. I like the fact they offer several different styles of chicken, with the famous recipe being the best choice of all their different styles of chicken. Another item that Lee’s is famous for is their sweet tea which can be bought by the gallon. another favorite from Lee’s is their golden delicious biscuits, a great addition to any of their many food deals.

The roommate and I get really kickass coupons to Lee’s once in a blue moon, and when we do, we hustle on over. I honestly don’t think I’d recommend this place over any other fried chicken chain out there, though. It’s pretty average. I see no difference between this and your KFC or Popeye’s. I do like their crispy chicken, although sometimes I wish I could get a non-spicy version of it. I’m not always in the mood for spicy, but I never want to sacrifice the extra crispy skin, either. Filed under: first world problems. For sides, I’m a fan of their potato wedges, their slaw, and their biscuits. And the sweet tea, of course. At this location, I do not recommend trying to exit left onto northbound Kingshighway, unless waiting(and scraping the underside of your car on a steep incline to boot) is your thing. Instead, drive out onto the side street directly south of the building(ignore the sign warning you that it’s an illegal turn, just check for cops and oncoming cars) and wait for the actual intersection light on the side street, Oleatha, instead of fighting across two directions of Kingshighway traffic.
