Groomingdale’s

I don’t bother to review things that often but after reading the negative reviews felt compelled to share that I love this place! I have been getting my dog Zeus groomed there for over 6 years and they always do a wonderful job. They get me in with short notice, are professional and kind, have reasonable prices, and he always enjoys his time there and comes out looking great.
Most importantly, they were flexible and worked with me on my second dog that we adopted six months ago– an Alaskan Malamute mix who does not like to be kenneled. He’s a total sweetheart but he has separation anxiety and just doesn’t like to be cooped up. (The rescue organization even told us that other groomers had refused to groom him because of this, so I was worried). But Groomingdale’s was flexible and stressed that they would do whatever was needed to keep him happy– which meant letting him air dry in their breakroom instead of the kennel. I was really impressed, I felt like they went above and beyond to work with my situation and put my dog’s happiness above their own convenience.
A+ I would be bummed if this place ever closed!

I normally use another groomer but they were booked that day. I figured the other reviews were exagerrating and decided to be adventurous and give this place a shot.
If you want your pet looking a mess when you leave, by all means get them groomed here. Completely uneven cut, patches, and loose hair all around. I doubt my pet was brushed because of all the loose hair on him. I’m not sure this was included in the hefty price (it should be for the cost!), but he definitely wasn’t washed/​bathed/​remotely wiped in any sort of way because he came back to me just as stinky as he went in. Even worse, the cut was nowhere near what I had asked for. For it costing over 50 bucks per pet (I brought multiple ones that day), I expect something more than a really bad cut and a 2 minute nail trim.
2 stars because the people there were at least nice and friendly. Makes me almost feel bad writing this review… but the cut was, for real, awful.

Worst place ever! Emailed owner got no response. My Australian Shepard shakes and tries to climb up me when I walk in the the door and I dismissed it thinking he was just being a baby, but when I picked him an my my other dog, a husky mix, up she was still shedding hair every where and the groomer tried to tell us that they got all the hair off that they could, what a line of crap! She took her back and as I watched through the window handfuls of hair come off, but that really isn’t the worst of it, my husky mix now has some kind of oosing wound on her neck that seems to be growing so I’m off to the vets office! If you love your pet I wouldn’t take your pet here!

Even though they were busy, they got my puppy in right away, and they did an excellent job with her grooming, and at a very reasonable price. I couldn’t be happier with them.

The service was hit and miss until we discovered Mikey. Sometimes grind the nails sometimes not. Mikey listens to our preferences with special shampoo needs. He grooms our Mini Schnauzer right with a cute puppy cut and teddy bear head. Our little dog is eager to go and seems well when she’s finished. We’ve been at least 10 times in the last couple of years. I feel we get fair deal for the price. Good tipping and clear expectations always helps ensure good service.

Worst grooming ever. I paid for nail grinding and they clipped them. The worst part of that is that they missed three nails. I will never be back to this place again… I called them and all I got was a joke of a response. Bring your dog in and we can see if we missed one…

Not happy with grooming. They messed up the toenails and I had to work on them myself. They were nice and friendly people. Cannot recommend for grooming. Cute décor.

Stay away. I took my shih tzu in and it was a bad hair cut and then she got an eye infection. I spent $ 200 to have her eyes fixed. The vet said there were 2^nd degree chemical burns to her eyes from soap in her eyes. Not good.

Not terrible, but not great in my opinion. For what I paid & the experience I had I wont be taking my dog back.

I thought I’d be impressed with their service but was not. The cost is ridiculous for a small-​medium size dog and they did not trim my dog’s nails, which I thought was part of a grooming package. I like to support local businesses, and wanted to try out Groomingdales because we are in the neighborhood, but I’ll take him back to his old groomer– Dogtown Grooming.

We used to take our black lab to this groomer. Then once, after a visit we noticed Wallace scratching and Unilocaling to the point we immediately took him to the vet. Seems had a contracted some sort of flesh eating virus that was quite serious. The groomer said the most likely source was from either another dog or from improperly cleaned and sanitized tools being used on him. Wallace had not been around any other dogs so the cause had to be the latter. This resulted in a hefty bill, an uncomfortable dog, and all around anger that we had trusted this place to at the very least follow health regulations. I would NEVER take our dog here again.

Groomingdale’s by far the cutest little grooming salon in South City. They not only will make your dog look fabulous, but take «glamour shots» of them afterward in the Pet Photography Room.
Also — while your pup waits for her turn for a bath she can play and run with other pooches in their doggie day care! Just a great little place!
