Quintessential Dining & Night Life

The upstairs outdoor area is nice but the servers are jerks. We went there to watch the blues game and not be stuck in a smoke filled bar. We sat on the cushioned couches and a server had a coronary. «That’s for bottle service! It starts in 30 mins! You can’t sit there!» Okayyyyy. We asked how much bottle service was. She wouldn’t even tell us and started shoving/​slamming chairs around. We had a group of 10. If her attitude was better, we would’ve stayed and got several drinks each. I will never go there again.

The head chef here knows his stuff, and the waiters are very attentive! I was about to give up on finding anything vegan in st. Charles, but came across Q. The head chef made the most AMAZING vegan tacos after I struggled to find something on the menu. I highly recommend they go on the menu, and I’ll be back for them either way.

Fun place, amazing food, great service! The upstairs bar turns into a night club after 930ish. So if that’s your scene, it’s a great time. If not, you can move back to the downstairs bar. It’s the best of both worlds!

Awesome place! Delicious fresh food and yummy drinks. Jalapeño wontons are the best! Also, great atmosphere and good service. Q is one of my favorite places to hang out with all my friends, always a good time!

A wanna be pretentious «upscale» disco that serves ok food. The service is a hit or miss. The décor is nice.

If looking for a romantic night out or stop in for a drink The Q is the place to go. Filet Medallions Oscar style was incredible washed down with a Crispin BlackBerry Cider! A Definite must visit in St Charles. Oh yeah and Epic Chocolate Cake… Coma

Prime rib sandwich and BBQ burger was delicious. I would definitely go back there. The inside is fancy and clean.

Awesome food, great drinks… very much like the atmosphere. I have not had one bad thing off the menu.

Nov 24^th 2015, out for the night checking out some little bars and we wondered in to this place around 9:30−10. Martinis in a plastic cup and a pregnant bartender who was obviously ready to leave. When I asked about the plastic cup she replied «sorry (she couldn’t be less „sorry“)no glass after 9». Im not totally sure why that would be considering they are open until 1:30am and there were less then 10 people, it seems tacky and lazy yet the prices were the same. The upstairs seemed pretty cool and maybe it would have been on another night but there wasn’t anything going on. It seems like it would be a fun place to dance if they had a Dj or something. The outside looks cool from the pictures but we didn’t care to check it out. We had our one drink and left, no one there and no reason to stay.

Random Sunday afternoon, it was pretty slow. Service was attentive and on point. My friend had the Salmon Salad… it’s served with the salmon on the side. I had the Potato Skins and Cheese Bites. Everything was delightful. Those cheese bites are addictive… be careful.

I was reluctant when I noticed the star count for this restaurant but my mother from out of town had her heart set on it. We were pleasantly surprised! Our server was excellent and very attentive. The restaurant was nice and clean! The appetizers and salads were delicious! The main entrees were well dressed and very delicious! We had a party of 7 and surprisingly every single person was impressed!

Q is fine but our server was easily confused. I ordered my salad with NO cheese. Said it twice with emphasis. Salad came with cheese. My date was offered ground pepper but when my corrected salad arrived, no ground pepper in sight. Also, there was no salt/​pepper on the table. Didn’t need it but found it strange. And strangely still, my corrected salad was different in presentation than my dates salad and my original. The replacement had tomatoes. There does not appear to be much control in the kitchen salad department.
My date had mushroom ravioli and reports it to be excellent. I had what amounted to Vodka pasta and grilled chicken. It too was excellent.
Q is not overpriced.
Good wine by glass selection.
We had a window seat.

This is quickly becoming a favorite dinner spot! The food is good! Tuna tacos are delicious, the grilled salmon is perfectly cooked, the risotto a great compliment to the fish. Love the crabcakes! Never disappointed in the food, or the servers.

Kicked me out for wearing a polo v-​neck?! They said no white shirts, but I was wearing khakis and boat shoes. Bouncer was rude. I was the last of my friends to walk in and he took all their covers and would not return them once I was told I could not come in.

We will never be going back to the ‘q’. The wait staff was rude to the point it made us feel as if they simply had better things to do. Worst of all, two of the ‘bouncers’ were staring at my wife like she was a piece of meat (not that it matters but she was dressed conservatively). It’s a shame too, the food was decent and the atmosphere wasn’t bad either.

Great place on Main Street! The service was quick and friendly, and they have live music Friday and Saturday nights during dinner.
Crab stuffed mushrooms ($ 11) — EXCELLENT! Loaded with crab. Definitely worth the splurge.
Quintessential chicken ($ 16) — Yummy! Juicy chicken breast on top of creamy mushroom risotto with balsamic sauce on the plate and sundried tomatoes on top. Would recommend to try.
Chicken rigatoni ($ 16) — Delicious! Juicy chicken on top of perfectly cooked pasta in an «Alfredo– like» sauce. Would definitely order again.
The restaurant is pretty average price for Main Street St. Charles. We loved listening to the music while we ate, it added to a great atmosphere. The service was great and our server was very friendly. Great quality of food, you can tell the chef likes their job :). We will definitely be back!

I’ve been to «Q» twice, both times for lunch meetings with a client. It’s a decent spot for that — the food is okay, service has been good both times, the noise level isn’t bad, and it’s not overly crowded.
Street parking on main can be difficult. However, there is a new public parking garage around the corner from this place, with sweet little shortcuts between the garage and Main Street businesses. Pricing is good during the day at $ 2, but it is cash only. As of this review, parking is free on weekends and after 5 weekdays.
Since I haven’t been there at other times, I can’t yet review Q for dinner, weekends, and nightlife. However, the client claims locals like the spot. Works for me!
St. Charles is a great town to visit, and this restaurant will feed you well.

I have only ate here once, and I just got the appetizer of toasted raviolis, and as a St. Louis native, I would say that these are pretty good! I am wanting to try more of their menu, it’s looks pretty tasty.
So I typically come here on Thursday/​Friday/​Saturday nights with friends to drink and do a little dancing! I enjoy coming here in the summer because the upstairs patio is super nice! Thursdays they have buy 1 get 1 free drinks so that’s nice! The bartenders are all great too.
I will say that there is an interesting/​eclectic group of people who are there. I guess that’s just Main Street for ya, really. It’s probably my favorite place to dance on Main Street. Other places are too packed, and seem to have really crazy people there. Q is a decent mix of ages, which I like. All in all it’s typically a good time!

This was my first meal married to an American, so it had to be a
burger! I went veggie, which was actually a pretty good decision. The
portobello mushroom burger was good, as were the accompanying sweet
sweet potatoe fries!
While the food was good, the venue was not really my kind of place. I
couldn’t see myself just coming for a drink here. And given what we
were celebrating it annoyed us that just opening our bottle of fizz
would have cost us 15 bucks.

I have been out to Q a few times for the nightlife and have always enjoyed myself. I especially like that rap is usually on the bottom level and on the top level/​rooftop some sort of dubstep mix is playing. Love that I can dance & party to two of my favorite genres!
While searching for a wedding reception venue, I came across the Foundry Art Centre off St. Charles Main Street… The Foundry has a preferred list of outside caterers and Q is on that list! Who would’ve known!
I contacted Q for their details, menu & pricing and have been working with Erin. She is über responsive and very thorough in her responses. When the time was right, I set up a site-​tour at the Foundry and invited Erin to accompany me. I can’t say all Catering Planners would take the time out to do this, after all, she is not selling the Foundry! She not only accepted my invite but she also arranged a tasting with her General Manager Eric BEFORE a contract was signed!
Upon arriving at Q for the tasting, Erin had arranged a private table with a great window view of Main Street. Eric joined us shortly and discussed my custom-​menu proposal in detail. He is very knowledgeable and makes appropriate suggestions to fit my needs. He actually listens to what you want… The tasting dishes started flowing out and the #1 thing I liked about the presentation was the clarification of portions in reference to the tasting portions vs. the actual serving portions on the wedding day. This is a huge misconception at tastings.
Boy oh boy, the Caesar Salad was incredible! Lots of dressing MADE RIGHT, it was so thick & creamy. The Salmon & Beef were incredible too (see pictures). As our conversation progressed, more ideas & tastes surfaced. Eric literally went to the kitchen on four separate occasions to get sauces for me to try. ALL were unique and tasty.
I haven’t decided if we will use Q for our wedding or not, but what I do know is that their blatant hospitality is appreciated and surprisingly refreshing in the wedding industry… :)
