Vance Blythe is a licensed, bonded, and insured glass contractor who has been installing and replacing glass, windows, and doors since 1985. Prior to earning his C-​17 glazing license from the Contractors State License Board in 2002, Vance worked for two of Sacramento’s largest glass contractors, where he managed a team of glass technicians for nearly 16 years. In 2002, Vance took all of his experience in glass services and team management and used it to build his own business. In 2005, he became a member of the Better Business Bureau (BBB), where he has consistently maintained an A+ rating for the last 10 years.

Through his 30 years of experience, Vance is able to provide a level of service and expertise that is unparalleled in the glass services industry. He always places the customer’s needs before everything else and, by doing so, has been branded with a reputation for being honest, professional, and reliable and always on time.

I called Vance for an estimate on a window repair. I left a message and he got back to me 10 – 15 minutes later. We chatted for a few minutes and he was able to come by to look at the window. He was there on time and estimated the window repair about $ 100 less than others. I gave him the job and the next moment he was on the phone with his supplier ordering the window.
He was at my house the next day, on time, and did what I think was a good job. As a first time home buyer I felt lucky to have contacted Vance and to have received the service I did. I will recommend him to others.

Yesterday afternoon I Called Vance’s Glass & Screen and explained the problem we’ve been experiencing with our sliding glass door. After speaking with Vance on the phone I knew he was the kind of person I wanted in my home and the right man for the job. The very next morning he arrived right on time as promised. After finishing all the repairs, and I’m not joking about this… my slider works better now than it did when I had it installed 12 years ago. Vance has a tremendous amount of experience and it shows, he explains every detail as he goes, and he uses top shelf replacement parts. Nice guy and very professional, and worth every penny.

I recently had Vance replace some glass on two windows. I got 3 quotes and they were all about the same cost wise. I elected to go with Vance because he was the most knowledgeable about windows than the other two. He is also very honest and gives you advice about what’s best for your home. You don’t feel like he’s just out for himself.
He was very prompt doing the work and punctual. He also put up with my doggy sniffing at his pant leg and if he was annoyed he didn’t show it.
His business card says he is a Glass Repair Expert and I wholeheartedly agree that he is an Expert. I will call on him again if I ever need any other window or screen work.

I called Vance to get a estimate on repairing my sliding glass door as it was becoming extremely hard open and at times come off the track.
I called Vance and explained what was happening with my sliding glass door I scheduled a day for Vance to come out and give me a free estimate.
I ended up having a day off and called to see if Vance could come out the same day and he agreed. Awesome that’s excellent customer service in my book.
Vance comes out tell me what need to be fix I get my estimate which is very reasonable and agreed to have the work done I even asked to have a brand new screen door put in that is of better quality is my screen down was pretty old.
Vance is very professional and will explain everything he is doing step by step and within about 40 minute my sliding door is like new.
Vance had to special order my screen door and informed me it would be in, in a week. I was called the following and he was able to put in my screen the same day it arrived.
I will definitely call Vance for my sliding door needs, he is also every reliable and on time.

I use Unilocal quite a bit in looking for services to do work on our office/​shop. We needed a new screen and another one repaired so I got on Unilocal and found Vance’s. From start to finish the process was a breeze. He came by, was early which is always fine by me, measured the windows, verified what I needed and was off to build and repair our screens. He followed up throughout the process via email and phone and showed up today and installed two brand new screens and still only charged what he quoted for one new and one repair. I’d use their service again in a heartbeat and highly recommend that you do as well.

I did not end up buying any services from Vance, but I really wanted to take the time to call him out for being a knowledgeable and trustworthy business owner.
I told Vance upfront that I won’t be doing any work anytime soon, but I wanted to get his estimate on repairing a bunch of what I thought were foggy windows with moisture issues. He came right on time for our appointment, and within a few minutes told me that I didn’t have a moisture issue.
We went on to discuss what could be done on my own to clean up my windows, and proceeded to evaluate the doors and windows for installation /​alignment problems both inside and outside. He was detailed, thorough, and straightforward in educating me on what’s functional versus cosmetic — in other words, what money I should or shouldn’t be thinking about spending.
Vance told me he has been in the window and door business for 30 years, and he used to do plenty of installations, so he clearly knows what he’s talking about, how the windows were put in, what materials were used, pros and cons, etc.
It’s refreshing when someone treats a new and uninformed home owner with integrity and honesty, and I did not want that to go unrecognized. I highly recommend him.

Best of the Best! I called Vance to get a quote to fix a sliding glass door that was getting harder and harder to open. While on the phone, I knew he was the right person for the job. He knew all about they type of door I had, and diagnosed the problem over the phone. He came out the next day for an estimate and provided a very competitive quote. He was fast, friendly, professional, and honest. I called to schedule the service the following week and he came out right away and within an hour, the door was as good as new! I could open my slider with only one finger! Thank you Vance! He even offered to clean, lubricate and adjust one of my other sliders for no additional charge! Truly a cut above the rest! I will definitely be recommending and using Vance’s Glass & Screen Service again.

We had a home burglary and needed someone right away as the doors were damaged so badly they could not lock. Other places, including Dick’s Rancho Glass told us the earliest they could help us was 3 days out and that door would most likely need to be replaced. Vance returned my call within 15 minutes and was out to take care of the problem within 2 hours. He repaired and secured the frame and jam and made everything work like new in under an hour!
It’s good to know there are still independent tradespeople out there who want the work and take care of their customers. I will use his services again and recommend him to friends and family.

Had a sliding glass door problem due to it’s age, I thought it might need to be replaced, costing a thousand or two dollars. Vance arrived the day I called, looked at it & said only the rollers needed to be replaced, which he had with him. Less than an hour later he was finished! Great job & very reasonable cost!

Our 22 year old aluminum patio sliding door had reached the stage where it took muscle to open and close. It was very annoying plus noisy and my husband and I were thoroughly fed up.
I called Vance Monday morning at 8:00am and he was here at 10:30am.
He took the door apart and removed the two old rusted metal wheels and replaced them with hardened nylon double wheeled rollers. He cleaned the track, siliconed the new rollers and the track. He took great care to make sure the door fit properly top to bottom and side to side. The door now slides as smoothly as skates over ice and is quiet.
He had shoe covers and tarps for the inside floor. Vance cleaned up everything used in the replacement and left the area immaculate.
Vance took the time to explain every step of the repair and the value of aluminum doors versus vinyl.
In addition to being an excellent craftsman, Vance is a delightful person. We would recommend him to anyone looking for a professional to work on their windows and doors. He will definitely be our go-​to guy for all future window and door repairs.
