Caroline is outstanding: professional, highly-​skilled, creative, fun, and has so much integrity.
I worked with her on several projects, professional head shots that completely changed my business. We did a variety of different scenes and looks and the whole time I felt so supported. This woman knows how to handle her clients with grace!
I also did boudoir photos with her, which was another incredible experience. I highly recommend every woman has this experience. It doesn’t matter what your relationship status is or what your body type is. Caroline has the ability to make anyone feel comfortable and you will get photos that are sexy and also, totally natural.
If you have the chance to book a session with Caroline, do it. You will have a great time and get high quality photography work that will last over the years. She’s amazing!

I had a boudoir session with Milou and Olin last year. I am shy, reserved, not flashy, and all about comfort. Needless to say, I do not normally gravitate toward something like this! However, I wanted to do something for me, to acknowledge and embrace my femininity, and also to surprise my husband with sexy photos of me. Caroline was super sensitive, and professional when taking my photos. I never was forced to wear or pose in a way I objected, but she did encourage me and used her art in ways that highlighted my natural features. She put me at ease, although admittedly, the whole thing was still outside my normal comfort zone, but when I got the photos I was floored! I never saw myself the way the camera portrayed me — beautiful, sexy, and totally feminine. All were tastefully done shots, and I am SO glad I did it. So is my husband! We are grateful to Caroline and really applaud her skill and talent. She is funny and great with work with.

One of the hardest decisions to make during the wedding is the PHOTOGRAPHER… why? Because pictures last forever… need I say more…
I looked at about 20 photographers and interviewed about 6. The one I decided on was Caroline. I chose her for her work as well as her personality. I wanted someone I could feel comfortable with… on one of the most important days of my life. I wanted to look natural and feel good about being with a person snapping shots of us, for 8 – 10 hours.
Her personality is bubbly, thoughtful, creative, and easy going… but still really «on it»…she even helped my husband feel at ease in front of the camera (not an easy feat!) On the day of the wedding she even prepared snacks for us, bc she was a very good listener and remembered I needed to eat every few hours or I get «hangry» (thats her word).
During the shoot, she wasn’t afraid to get dirty, half the time, she was rolling around in the cold grass, on the dusty ground, over rocks by the water… whatever it took to get the perfect shot. You could tell she really cared about how the shoot would turn out and how much you’d like it.
The one bit of advice I would offer is to have an idea of locations you might want things to be shot bc she will go there near the time of your wedding/​event/​engagement, and check how the light hits… bc each season, each day has a different sunrise and sunset (she helped explain this to me)
We also used her company «Giggle and Riot» for our photo booth and ppl were ecstatic with the results. The props were great and the photos looked professional and not like a photo booth quality photo. The person operating the booth was fun, responsible, and nice. We loved them so much that we chose «giggle and riot» to also do our Holiday dinner party the following year. Caroline ended up writing us a personal note when she was reviewing those photos. It was nice to know she remembered us!!!
My photos were great! I loved the creativity she has with the coloring, the compositions and just the overall look was wonderful!!! Needless to say, I am very happy with all my photos!
We still have an anniversary shoot we are looking forward to. She let us skip the engagement shoot and make it into an anniversary shoot, bc we just didn’t have time or energy while planning the wedding to do it.
Caroline is so flexible, professional, creative, and understanding and that made for an amazing experience.
I also have to mention her assistant Donna, she is a gem of a person! She is personable, organized, and very diligent, which helps you feel safe and held, during a very stressful and exciting time in your life!

Caroline is the real deal. Not only is she highly qualified with a crazy-​amazing portfolio, but she’s just the sweetest person and really brings out the best in us. She photographed my husband and me and we had so much fun that, at the end of the shoot, we were like, «It’s time to go, already?!» She went above and beyond and over-​delivered on the pictures and we just loved them. Picking a photographer can be difficult but I had no worries with her. I’m already dreaming up ways to have more shoots with her!

My sister-​in-​law recommended Caroline as she works closely with her in the wedding business. My fiancé was not able to come to our first meeting but I could tell right away that she was someone special, especially when she got one of my jokes from the movie «Best in Show».
Caroline makes you feel like you’ve been friends for years! She has the ability to capture the tiniest details and ambiance of the wedding. From formal to candid, my family and I were blown away with the beauty of her photos.

I loved working with Caroline. I should have wrote this review two years ago when she shot my wedding (I am sorry I am just getting around to it now Caroline!)
First thing I should say is that my husband and I were living in NYC, but getting married in Sonoma. I had never met Caroline in person, but I had seen a beautiful wedding that she had shot on Ruffled Blog and knew that I wanted to work with her and her team. She and Donna were amazing at making everything super easy to handle long distance. They were in constant contact with me and were so prompt at answering all of my questions via email. They sent me such a sweet gift after the wedding, and my cd with all the photos arrived so quickly. They are a small boutique company, but they run their business very professionally. It was honestly one of the easiest parts of my wedding planning, and I love them for making it personal yet so stress free.
Secondly I should mention that my husband HATES having his photos taken. I was so worried that I was going to have a hard time getting great photos on our wedding day because he is so camera shy/​a camera hater. Caroline was so easy to work with, my husband even loved having his photos taken. Anyone who knows us, knows that this is not normal for him! Her style is so un-​intrusive, she felt like she was just one of our good friends on our day, and that was so important for us. My husband really needed to feel like he was not pressured to look a certain way or do specific things, and she was so carefree and easy to laugh and talk with, it made the whole experience that much sweeter.
She was also amazing photographing our two dogs on our wedding day. She loves dogs, and has so much experience photographing them; it was truly the perfect match for us. We have some really beautiful photos of our two boys all dressed up & that meant so much to us.
One thing that I really admired most about working with her was that she is so honest. She isn’t going to tell you something looks great if it doesn’t, because she wants you to have the best product she can give to you, and that means being honest with her clients about her thoughts. My first sit down meeting with her happened to be right after having my trial of hair and make up done. I wasn’t feeling too impressed with what the stylist had done and when I walked in to meet Caroline I asked her what she thought. She immediately was like, «It’s way too much.» I was so thankful that she was so honest, because I was feeling the exact same way and wanted to make sure that I wasn’t over reacting (I really don’t wear a lot of make up everyday, so this whole experience of having it done was new to me). She had the perfect advice for me going forward for my day with hair and make up, and it helped me to relax and go forward with the right hair/​make up for my photos with her. Thank you Caroline for not letting me look like a clown.
I hope that I have another reason to work with Caroline in the future! Caroline of Milou and Olin photography was our photographer for our wedding in August 2014 and she is simply amazing.
My husband and I met with Caroline and Donna (her business manager) in person after speaking with several photographers over the phone. Caroline showed us several albums of her work (they were beautiful!) and we really loved talking to her — she was so laid back and felt like an old friend. We wanted to have a strong bond with our photographer since both of us get super awkward in front of the camera and Caroline was perfect! We decided immediately after our meeting that we wanted Caroline to photograph our wedding. Donna made things so easy by working with us to customize our package. All of the transactions were handled online — she even sent us online questionnaires for us to answer!
Caroline includes an engagement session in her packages to get to know her couples better. We went to several locations including Muir Beach Overlook where my husband had proposed. Caroline and her assistant Don were so much fun to work with and the photos were very natural while looking gorgeous at the same time (seriously check out her website, she is an incredible photographer!).
Caroline also photographed our Chinese tea ceremony that was held on the same day as our rehearsal dinner. My husband and I didn’t know much about the traditions of the Chinese tea ceremony — Caroline to the rescue! She told us all about the steps of the ceremony and helped things go smoothly. She really went above and beyond.
On our wedding day, Caroline and Don were there to capture everything. They came early and even stayed late to capture key moments of our reception!
They were great at taking photos without making us feel self conscious and we never felt that we had to pose for the camera. We are so excited to see our photos!

When it comes to capturing her subjects in the most beautiful, flattering way, Caroline nails it every time.
When it comes to being incredibly detail-​oriented and having a super editorial eye when taking shots of details and décor, she always hits it out of the park. (Seriously… you may not think detail shots are as important as your wedding portraits, but when you send so much time/​energy/​$$$ on the details, you’ll want to remember how amazing they looked! And most photographers don’t take the time to get great shots of them, if they get them at all.)
When it comes to being an all-​around sweet person who can set you at ease and make you laugh, she nails that too. She’s fun to be around, and can get even the most awkward-​in-​front-​of-​the-​camera person to smile genuinely.

When I first met Caroline of Milou + Olin, she told me that one of the highlights of her job is seeing how happy her brides are when they view their photos, and that they frequently cry and tell her that she makes them look so beautiful.
I thought to myself, well that’s great, but she normally works with beautiful, stylish couples. When she photographs me, she will have her hands full. I am not photogenic. I am awkward. I will not cry about how beautiful I look, I’m sure.
I was wrong. Sure enough, our wedding photos had me in tears, and dang, I looked GORGEOUS! Some of the photographs were absolutely breathtaking.
