Luke is exactly what we were looking for in a photographer. First of all, he is a gifted artist and captures the beauty of his subjects and their surroundings. He is professional, responding promptly to emails and expressing much foresight in his questions and suggestions (very helpful for someone new to the process!). He is light-​hearted, genuine, and generous. Also, he clearly has put much time, energy, and love into his business.
Arriving promptly for our engagement shoot, his manner immediately put us at ease and throughout our afternoon together, he offered suggestions that kept us comfortable (we needed them!) but also gave us plenty of space to be ourselves. The results were fantastic. He captured fleeting moments between us as well as the beautiful California landscape surrounding us. We’ve been so pleased to share the photos with our family and friends. And, we are very happy that he will be working with us on our wedding day this coming summer.

We could not be more thrilled with Luke! I first contacted him a year ago when we were in the initial stages of planning our wedding and came across his high-​quality work online. As other reviewers have noted, his getting-​acquainted process is impressive. He asked us for many relevant details about our relationship, our vision for our wedding, and what really mattered to us in our lives — all of which helped us feel like he really cared about finding an aesthetic that would reflect who we are as a couple.
We felt comfortable immediately, and decided to do an engagement photo session to get used to working together. We had a total blast working with Luke. He came to our favorite spot in the forest and put us very quickly at ease. The results were completely fantastic. I’m used to seeing maybe half a dozen really stellar photos from someone’s photo shoot… but man, the number of on-​target shots in this session just blew my mind. Luke captured the beauty of the surroundings and our connection with each other so expertly that we have dozens and dozens of gorgeous shots from which to choose. He has remarkable skill at integrating people seamlessly into their surroundings. We can’t wait to see what he does with our upcoming wedding.
The icing on the «really good artist» cake is that Luke is a genuinely kind, friendly, and laid-​back guy who made us feel more like a friend of ours had dropped by to take some photos… which is exactly what we needed to relax and have a great time. If you’re looking for someone who will not only create beautiful images, but who will also enhance your actual experience at your own wedding or engagement session, you should definitely meet Luke!

We traveled to San Francisco for our wedding and chose City Hall as our wedding location. I did a lot of research and found Luke’s work to be simply beautiful. Once we connected via email — he made sure to find time to chat over face time and was always so responsive to my many questions and offered great suggestions.
On our wedding day he was amazing. Most of of our guest commented about our great photographer and inquired about how in the world we had found him. Luke is super easy going and has a gift for connecting with people — this truly comes through in his pictures.
Luke is so talented, his work speaks for itself. I can’t recommend him enough — we feel so fortunate to have had him as our photographer to capture our special day.

My fiancée and I hired Luke to do our engagement photos while on vacation in Healdsburg, CA. We were traveling from Atlanta, GA and chose him based off weeks of research on photographers within the area. We were first told about him through our wedding planner (Andrea at Lily & Mint Events) and after perusing his website, we felt confident that our personalities would complement. (Side note: Let’s be honest, anyone that has enough sense to ask Dogs vs. Cats on their online Proposal Request Form really has some character). Luke remained responsive and open minded up until the day we took the photos. He had a lot of really great ideas regarding locations and used his personal time (prior to our appointment) to scout out options.
My fiancée and I were so nervous. We’ve never been professionally photographed and were completely out of our element. Do we smile? Do we look at the camera? What the heck should we do with our hands? All in all, we were anxious regarding our own awkwardness. Looking back, by hiring Luke as the photographer, that worry was completely unnecessary. Luke was such a great guide. He gave us enough instruction so that we felt confident in doing something that was completely foreign to us, but also let us be ourselves. Nothing was forced or cheesy, we just felt really relaxed and had a lot of fun. Other than his obvious talent (his gallery speaks for itself), his ability to interject personality and ease into the situation, will 100% show up in your photos.

Luke and his team did an incredible job at my wedding last fall at Mann Family Farm in Bolinas. Professional, creative, full of energy, and a quick eye to capture innumerable memories to last a lifetime.
Besides great photography skills, I wanted my photographers to be awesome people, which Luke and his team are. They were so down to earth and extremely patient, and put all of our guests at ease, which resulted in amazing photos, both the portraits and candied. They were great about trying to keep us relaxed and capturing the moments and details that we had requested them to shoot without making themselves obvious. Our guest were also all so impressed by them that they continued to rave about Luke and his team well after the wedding.
Luke put together the most amazing digital album set of the top 50+ photos that captured the wedding from start to end, and delivered them to us along with all of the other shots.
On the service side, Luke was extremely responsive to emails and phone messages and always went the extra mile to make us happy.
I am continually recommending Luke to anyone and everyone looking for an incredible photographer. Thank you so much to Luke and his team for capturing such an important day in our lives, they far exceeded any expectations and we could not be happier with the entire experience and our awesome photos.

When we were planning our wedding at City Hall, I asked my coworker for recommendation. Based on her suggestion, I browsed through Luke’s website and decided to reach out to him. The moment we met up with Luke for a consultation, we knew he was the guy we should hire for our wedding ceremony at SF City Hall. His amicable appearance eased our otherwise nervous hearts on the big day. Not only was he gleefully professional, he captured moments and scenes that we failed to see.
Just a few days ago, we saw a preview of our wedding photos on Luke’s Facebook page. I was running-​around-​the-​house-​jumping-​up-​and-​down-​screaming-​nonsense excited. Luke is the photographer that you want to shoot your event or to book a session with! My partner wanted to book a session to get some portraits of our newly expanded family. Luke was super accommodating of our schedule, which is exactly what we needed with planning around the naps of our 3 ½ year old and our then 4 month old. The most amazing thing of all was how at ease he made our 3 ½ year old feel with him and in front of the camera. This is a minor miracle considering how tremendously shy our boy is. That level of comfort translated to some really amazing shots that captured a side of our son that not a lot of folks get to see. We loved Luke’s pictures so much that we used about half a dozen of them for our annual Christmas card! Without a doubt, Luke will be shooting our family’s next major event and next year’s Christmas card!

Luke was the second photographer for our Stern Grove wedding in April. He definitely has a great eye! His photos are consistent and very beautiful! He is very sneaky with his camera, half the time I didn’t know he was there, which is a good thing (you have so much to worry about on your wedding day, the less stress the better!). My guests and bridesmaid thought he was creative with this images… and not too bad to look at either ;)

Luke shot our engagement photos all over San Francisco just the way we wanted. He spent the time to really understand what we wanted as was very patient to get it just right. He spent nearly 6 hours with us and helped us with a lot of things beyond photography, like helping us handle our dog and parallel park in busy areas. He is very personable, funny and easy to work with and he has a great eye for capturing fleeting, natural moments rather than just posed photos. He provided us with his favorite edits photos, all of the raw photos and smaller media files to use online. His prices are very reasonable and I would absolutely work with him again. i recommend him to anyone seeking a photographer.

Luke was the second shooter at our Russian River wedding in September. He arrived right on time, and got straight to work. Luke was friendly and easy to work with. I didn’t even notice him during the ceremony, and he was still able to beautifully capture the moment. Not only did he take fun candid shots, but he even got a few of them to us the very next day. It was so much fun to have a few gorgeous shots to tide us over until the rest of the photos were ready.

Luke is phenomenal. The photos he took at my wedding are absolutely stunning. He has an artistic eye and captures all of the special moments and fine details. Luke is so calm and easy to work with. Luke did such an amazing job shooting my wedding. With three photographers at my wedding, Luke’s pictures definitely stood out as some of the best. He captures all of the little details and, as the bride, that meant so much to me. We spend so much time planning the wedding, making sure everything looks just right. By the time the wedding day comes around, we see so little because we are getting ready or just don’t have enough time to experience it all. However, it was Luke’s pictures that made me feel like I DID see and experience it all.
